Good buying experience
Dave Kniffen and the owner, Jeff Schmidt , were very personable and projected a non nonsense - we want to sell you a vehicle attitude. I liked the fact that there wasn’t any back and forth trips to talk to the boss crap. Jeff came in, sat down with David and me and we all 3 worked out a deal together. No games. So far, I am very impressed with the new Chevy truck’s design, functions and excellent fuel mileage for a 5.3 V8 with trailer towing. I have been a die hard Ford pickup owner for decades, however, this Chevy really did surprise me and I’m happy with the purchase.

I was trying to buy a ford Ranger. They were saying it would be ready for me to see but I was never given the opportunity to. After two days and employees arguing about who had the right to sell it I went home. My time is important just like theirs. I was lied to several time throughout the process

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Schmidt Chevrolet in Mt. Vernon, Illinois looking for a truck. We had the pleasure of meeting Matt King, whom went right to work on finding a few choices within our budget. At the end of the day we drove home a beautiful Silverado. Thanks to obvious teamwork at this dealership, every aspect of the process was impeccable. Sonja in loan financial was extremely talented and kind. My wife and I recently purchased our fourth vehicle from Matthew King at Schmidt Chevrolet. We would like to thank Matthew and Sonya for always making the process as quick and easy as possible. We?ve always been extremely satisfied with our purchases from Matthew and will definitely be returning customers in the future.
No follow up
Requested vehicle info and got and email but staff never responded to me. I bought a different Suburban the next day since that dealership did respond and take the time to answer my questions. Overall it was poor and a lost sale on a Suburban.

Great Service, Clean Facility
The service department told me I needed to change my oil because of an Onstar notification. They got me right in the next day.
No problems when I took vehicle to have serviced. I dropped vehicle off on way to work & picked up on way home.
They are always willing to work with me on a date and time to come have the work done on my car. They complete my work in a timely manor. Everyone is always friendly and helpful.
GM's Problem - Not the dealership
I am pleased with the quality of the work performed in the service department at Schmidt Chevrolet. I am not pleased with GM's engineer's stating that he has driven worse in regard to his assessment of the vibration issue that has plagued my truck ! The dealership facilitated the purchase of the truck, but GM is responsible for the manufactured product. I only have high praise for the service department. They are governed by GM on what they are instructed to do to repair vehicles with this unknown vibration issue ! Frankly, I wish I had kept my 2013 Black Diamond Avalanche. This has been going on for weeks and it it very tiresome to return time and time again for additional pico scope tests ! Yes, please feel free to publish my response ! I seriously doubt that is going to occur ! I have not yet received one reply from all of my emails to GM, nor any response in regard to my letter to General Motors top executives !
