Will never visit this dealership again!
Will never visit this dealership again! I purchased a CPO vehicle from Volvo Cars Princeton about 18 months ago but did not leave a review at the time even though the delivery process was less than ideal. Now that I just traded in that vehicle, I found out that I was misled about the extended warranty, I feel the need to leave a review. I will start with the three issues that I had with the delivery of the vehicle 1) it was a plugin hybrid but was not charged when I picked it up (not a big deal but you need to do better), 2) when I extended the thigh extensions on the front seats I found both seats with a tremendous amount of crumbs that had not been cleaned (again not the end of the world but you have to do better), and 3) the worst part of the delivery process - when picking out the car I noticed that one of the seatbelts was damaged and unusable. I was told that they did not have the replacement seat belt prior to pick up and had to bring the car back. The first time I bring the car back (I also live 1 hour away) I am told that they had the wrong part. So I have now wasted my morning. A few weeks later I am about halfway back to the dealership when I get a call from the service department telling me the new part is the wrong color. Finally, the third time when the part is sent to the Bridgewater Volvo dealer, I finally get my usable seatbelt about 2 months after buying the car. And that brings us to the extended warranty. As it was explained to me at the dealership you can extend the warranty out to 10 years and if you trade in the car you would get your money back if you didn't use it. I was not made clear that the extended warranty starts the day you drive off the lot. If that was made clear I would never have taken that coverage as the car that I bought still had almost 3.5 years left on the warranty and would have decided on an extended warranty when the existing warranty was coming to an end. I feel that the way that it was presented did not allow me to make an informed decision. It ended up costing me a bit more than $500 so I hope it was worth it for the dealership as they have lost a customer for life (I have just purchased 2 new Volvos in the last month).
If you are looking for a honest and fair dealership,
If you are looking for a honest and fair dealership, Princeton Volvo should be on your list. Between Mike (GM) and Kathy (Sales), they will take as much time as you need to assist you in your vehicle purchase. Our 1st XC60 had a small issue that should not be happening. Mike was a man of his word and took the vehicle back, no questions asked. Because of that honesty, I purchased not one but 2 more XC60’s. Recently I wanted to upgrade one of them to a XC90. Mike and Kathy said that it might take a while to find one that has the options I was looking for. It took over 6 months but a call came directly from Mike, my XC90 was found and it would fit into my budget. I could not be happier. If you are in the market for a vehicle, look at Volvo and give Princeton Volvo a call.

We have had a series of unfortunate experiences with this dealership. When you visit the dealership the staff seems concerned with what ever they are doing, they don't smile or make eye contact. You get the strong impression you are interrupting them by being there. When my wife takes the car in for service she is ignored, condescended to, and given misinformation. The most recent incident involved a broken windshield. Our local glass shop could not get glass for a 2021 XC 40 recharge. She was told that "Of course the dealership has the glass in stock." and "you silly woman" was not said but clearly heard. I called and was told the glass was on back order and the dealer would order the glass and find out next week when it would be available. We will not purchase another car here and I intend to travel 50 miles to the nearest dealer the next time service is required. Shannon (service department) in the only courteous and helpful person we have encountered at this dealership.

I really like the way this dealership treats its customers. Especially Ed P. & Jason D. Professional, concerned for my satisfaction, laid back, and friendly. They made the process of turning in my 2019 Volvo and releasing a XC40. Love my car.
Marian, thank you for your wonderful review on our dealership. Ed and Jason are really great people to work with at our dealership. So happy to hear that you love your XC40 ( I have one myself ) If you need service or parts, please reach out to our service department. Volvo Cars Princeton Service: 888-436-2940
Shannon Ratkay is a rude, unhelpful, horrible employee. She talks down to customers and is completely useless. Horrible experience, both on the phone and in person.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We pride ourselves in outstanding customer service. Feel free to speak to our service director Mark Pare so we can get to the bottom of exactly what happened during your visit.

Do not buy a Volvo. My 2013 S60 burns oil. 2 quarts every 800-1000 miles. Volvo of Princeton, Emerson, says this is acceptable. Just Google Volvo burns oil. You will see many, many reports. Volvo of Princeton will pretend to have never heard about oil burning problems. Buy an Acura. Save yourself the worry and headaches.
Please when you have time give me a call David J Long 609 552 1862
The phone number you left above "has been disconnected".
Our experience with staff members throughout various...
Our experience with staff members throughout various departments from Volvo of Princeton dealership was exceedingly positive and significantly contrasted with that from another dealership, where we recently purchased a vehicle from with unresolved issues. Their customer service skills are exceptional including our interactions with employees from the Service Dept.-Star and Emerson, Sales Dept.-Brianna, and Store Manager-Michael. They were all so polite, friendly, patient, attentive, professional, and willing to answer all of our questions. They were all solution-oriented and provided us with suggestions on how to help us with our current situation. Most importantly, they all took the time to listen to our concerns and genuinely demonstrated an interest in helping us in any way that they could. They were all transparent and straightforward in providing us the information inquired about. The way in which they communicated with us allowed for a sense of trust and confidence in the information shared. We appreciate and value the time they spent with us and the resources/suggestions shared. Although we have not yet purchased a vehicle from their dealership given that the issue with our current vehicle is still unresolved, we will be sure to do so in the future. However, in the interim we wanted to share the noteworthy experience we had and highly recommend this dealership to all interested in Volvo. Thank you all at Princeton for everything!

I bought a brand new XC60 2022 shortly after relocating to the US. Colby Whipple who was the sales professional helped us a lot navigating between all the options and get the exact car we wanted. The service continued very impressively after we got the car throughout the registration process, questions and updates needed to be done to the car. Highly trustable hands!
Thank you so much for the 5 star review. We look forward to serving you in the future.

Ed and the Princeton Volvo family went above and beyond...
Ed and the Princeton Volvo family went above and beyond to help us secure a 2021 XC60 over the July 4th holiday weekend. Other dealers told us they didn’t need our business and acted like we should be grateful for their attention. Not the case with the team at Princeton Volvo. In fact, after finding inventory on Friday and contacting Ed, we agreed we’d come in on Saturday to make the purchase. Rather than wait until the next morning, he reached out on Friday evening to start getting information and paperwork together so that we could be out of there in our new ride as soon as possible on Saturday morning. Our purchase went smoothly minus one hiccup, but Ed had the team come get the car and bring it back to the dealership so that we wouldn’t have to come back ourselves after the holiday. If you’re in the market for a Volvo, I would recommend these guys and gals over other Volvo dealerships in the tristate area.
