Non-refundable deposit policy.

This dealership will not budge on their non-refundable deposit rule. On 11-01-22, I put down a deposit on a model, before doing my full homework on the model. (My error!) After reading many negative online reviews for the model I reserved, I called and cancelled the reservation that I had placed, before 72 hours had passed. When I asked for the return of my deposit, I was told the reason they require a non-refundable deposit, is because they then take the model off the showroom for other customers to see or buy. I understand that if the actual car was physically on the lot at that time that I reserved it. However, the car is not due for arrival to the dealership until 11-21-22. I called again to request my deposit back due to not seeing how my temporary reservation on the car had negatively impacted the dealership or future sale of the car, after only three days reserve on a yet to be delivered car. The sales manager would not even reconsider their policy, or work with me. Yes, I understand it is my error in the first place. However, I thought they would work with me….once again an error on my part. Potential buyers, please due your full homework and review of the car you are interested in, before placing a deposit, and not make the same mistake that I did.

Con artists. Do not buy from them

An absolute nightmare. These are the worst of the worst people. Do not put yourself through this like I did. They have done nothing but caused me stress, anxiety, and headaches everyday. I was scammed by these con artists and have been going in circles since the week I purchased the vehicle.

Dont stand behind their work

I have been a Subaru owner since 1979. At one time there were 4 subaru cars in my driveway. I used to live in Sandy and I had a mechanic that was wonderful. I would take my car in before work and it was finished when I picked it up. I guess I was spoiled. In the last 15,000 miles my 145k mile subaru has cost me $6k in repairs. The last $3k was for a transmission at Young Subaru. I have put on less than 5,000 miles and my transmission is leaking. It has been leaking for a while but Ive been too busy to take it in until now. My complaint is that a transmission that cost me $3000 doesnt include the pan. My complaint with Young Subaru is that I made an appointment to bring my car in and it took them 2 days, with me calling them, to let me know that my car wont be covered or fixed. I dont know if they just dont have enough help or that subaru cars have gone down hill in their quality and need to be repaired more often. My previous cars have lasted over 200k miles this one started giving me trouble at 130k. I wont be buying another Subaru and I will go out of my way to tell people why after all these years Im not buying another Subaru. I wont be going into Young Subaru ever.

Great sales experience!

I contacted Jake Phippen about purchasing a new Subaru Forester. Ended up changing to a new Outback. Very easy efficient communication via phone and text and a deal was made over the phone. I was in and out of the dealership in less than an hour, extra nice as I am from out of state. Smooth process, the car was clean and ready to go, full of fuel. Highly recommended.

Childish Liars

I had thought Young Subaru is average. Salespeople are nice while they're with you or trying to upsell the extra stuff you don't need. They repeatedly ask for referrals, which I thought was odd. To me, if a person does an absolutely wonderful job, they shouldn't need to ask for referrals or contacts. But that's me. That's where odd ends and bad begins. The car we bought hadn't been detailed or had the windshield replaced yet, so we had to wait about a week between the purchase and picking it up. Despite a promise of keeping updated about it, I heard nothing, only to call and find out it had been done for a while. A week later, I took it into my mechanic for a rattle. They found (and I visually verified) an oil leak in two gaskets. In addition, a fog light was missing. Not exactly something you think of looking for when you walk around it for the first time. I took it in, because they said they would take care of it. Great! Well, not so much. I got a call saying they found what the mechanic was talking about and that they would order a pair of gaskets to replace the ones that were leaking. A day later, the person I originally contacted texted me and said: (quoting from text) "...they have already sat me down talk to me about the review that you left for us. I don't know if they are going to be willing to help or not." That was in reference to my original three-star review saying they were average, and to not expect an amazing experience. So, a few hours after that, I get a call. It's the service department saying that they've driven it around, and haven't found any leaks. And the funny thing? I'm looking at the invoice... the in/out mileage is exactly the same. Somehow, I didn't trust them. So I took it back to my mechanic. Again, I visually verified the leaks are still there. So, my overall impression. The people at Young Subaru--other than Edith at the front desk--are liars. They're childish, and will throw a fit if you say anything bad about them. The slightest thing will set them off, and make them unwilling to work with you. Keep away. Keep far, far away. This is the worst kind of auto dealer.

Disgruntled x-customer

I've been dealing with this dealer for a few years, this being my second car with them. I've, dealt with few car dealers in my 70 years. Honestly I think they all say and do things strictly to make that sell. But these people duped me into turning in leased my 2017 outback early because they supposedly had buyers. The car had 26000 miles with 5 months to go. The only wear and tear were on the tiers. After several calls from this dealer do a deal, my wife and I sat down with them to get some details. After a while of no movement on negotiation I realized their only interest was in getting me into another vehicle, and with the deals they were offering I decided I needed to get out of there grasp. They also told me that considering the condition of the car, and the odometer reading 10,000 miles under, there almost certainly wouldn't be a penalty for the early return. Well that was then! Now I'm holding a lease end settlement from Chase for 2,228.25 for early return. After reaching out to both entities, its obvious no one cares. Im still scratching my head over all this love from Subaru! I am not critical of Subaru being a good product, but if I really wanted a Subaru, and Young was the only source in Utah, Id go out of state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beware of this shady dealer!!!!

Let me start by saying that I live in Washington State and part of this disaster of a deal was done over the phone. Promises were made and not kept by Skylar the Internet so called sales manager, River the salesperson and Ryan the Used Car so called sales manager. Long story short they sold a car with hail damage without disclosing it. They did it by, instead of me seeing a car that would "look like new" as promised by Skyler, I arrived to find an absolutely filthy car both inside and out. They, in my opinion, did this on purpose to hide the damage. Ryan also promised to fix the car when I put in a complaint with the BBB but reversed his so called promise after I spent my time getting estimates. $3700.00 was lowest estimate and for a senior citizen on a fixed income that is a lot of money. I went to Consumer Protection. What a joke all the so called inspector David Christensen came back with was "This occurrence is insufficient to trigger fines and legal enforcement action from our agency." No big deal, a dealer can deliberately hide damage and get away with it even though there was a MAJOR hail storm in September 2019 that was reported on the news. I asked Christensen to look into when the car was taken in in trade, how much they paid for the trade etc. No help at all. I guess big car dealers have more clout than us average consumers.
