McGrath Volvo Cars Barrington

I had a very poor experience with the service department at McGrath Volvo, specifically working with Mark Kuzinar. My vehicle was kept for several months with minimal and inconsistent communication. During this time, I was told that the warranty company had been contacted a few times regarding the necessary repairs. However, after experiencing repeated delays, I contacted the warranty company directly and was informed that no contact had been made when he stated he did, nor had any explanation for the repairs been submitted so ultimately, they denied my claim. The warranty company stated that they denied my claim due to lack of communication from McGrath Volvo on why the repairs are needed. We communicated this to Mark and he sent us a list of parts he sent the warranty company. Where was the exchange between McGrath Volvo and the Warranty company? I was ultimately presented with a $14,000+ repair estimate, with no clear justification or progress toward warranty approval. The overall experience felt disorganized and lacked transparency or customer advocacy. After transferring my vehicle to another Volvo dealership, the warranty was approved and the repairs were completed within one week, confirming that the issue was not the vehicle but how it was handled. Overall service department lacks professionalism and accountability. To add insult to injury, the other Volvo dealership I took it to for service stated that the suspension is messed up, the motor mounts were left off and a coolant leak. So basically they sabotaged my car because upon bringing it there, the inspection said there was no suspension issues or coolant leaks. Strange!!! Due to the lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism, I cannot recommend the service department at McGrath Volvo and would advise others to proceed with caution and not go here and save yourself a headache.

I have loved the experience at this deal since it was Barrington Volvo and the charm and old school service never disappoints! Selection is always great but the service I receive when I deal with Franz is unparalleled. Trustworthy and knowledgeable and never behaving as the stereotypical car salesman, not one step was stress-inducing.

We walked in not really expecting to walk out a few hours later with a new XC60 but with the great help of Julio, and Pritesh Chaudhary we did.
