I wanted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership that I found online. I’m a distance away, I filled out financing prior to leaving my home. The man... handling my vehicle literally had no idea on financing and first said one amount and then another and as he talked he gradually moved the down payment higher. I’m filing a loan application with my bank because better rates and knowledgeable. If I end up getting the vehicle I wanted I will use my financial account. If my vehicle sells, they lost a customer and a good review. It’s a car sale, your supposed to know or at least say I’m looking into it before someone goes an hour out of their way.
In looking for a good used car, I was hesitant, as I know little about the inner workings of a car. I decided to start with Borgman Ford because I trusted... them. My daughter had purchased a used car from them several years ago, and she had an excellent experience. Pete Arends helped her right away, walked her through financing, helped her in choosing "just the right" car, and he answered all her questions in a very caring, professional and pleasant way. She still drives her Focus today! I, however, did not experience the same with salesman, Don Johns. He walked up right away, but from there it fell apart. He just seemed more interested in telling us about his plans for the holiday weekend and how he had paid off his car and boat. When I asked if there were any other comparable SUVS other than the blue Escape I was looking at he said, "nope." Then he proceeded to give me the typical sales pitch of, "at this price, this car will be gone by the weekend." When I asked why it had been reduced in price, he didn't answer. When I said, "be honest, what is wrong with this car," he said, "nothing." I proceeded to test drive the car and loved the feel, the handling and yes, even the color! The price and mileage were good for me. I decided to go ahead and purchase the car because of my own inner peace as it felt like an answer to prayer-not because of any help from Don. He did very little for me, never worked hard to make the final purchase easy and uncomplicated. In fact, with his few explanations, I was very frustrated as to paperwork and what was needed. He didn't even fill the gas tank, per our agreement! Pete Arends came to the rescue and followed through on all the paperwork. He was patient, thorough, and did follow up work. He could see our frustration in trying to purchase this car. We had made 4 trips to the dealership just to have the paperwork right! Thanks, Pete! Don had a very easy sale, but no thanks to his skills:(( Let's just hope this car isn't a lemon!!!

Brought my car in for a recall watched mechanic open drivers door and turn in paper work. No hood opened to check actual recall device no inspection and... when brought up to service advisors attention he was confident it was completed when clearly it wasn't. Also made an appointment and I had to go up to service desk 1 hr later cause I walked around building and my car hasn't even moved when I was told it would be a quick 20 minute check. I was late to work and told the service advisor I need it done within the hour that's why I made and appointment. There paying customers come first there was 5 people walk ins no less that were in and out after me and my car wasn't even in the shop. I will not go back or tell people I know that it's a good dealer to go too.. As everyone knows word gets around..

I began my relationship with this dealership and repair center in 2012. At first things were good, but in the last year things have gone downhill fast.... The service department argued with me about a warranty issue and couldn't get me in for for more than a week. I couldn't wait this long I took the vehicle to another repair shop and they found Borgman had used a re-conditioned alternator and charged me for a brand new one. Borgman will never see me again.
