On July 30th I attempted to purchase a used vehicle from Romano CDJR. I put down $5,000 as a downpayment to help lower my monthly payments. This was on a Saturday, so Mark and Jon told me the banks were not responding and that they would try again on Monday. I called Tuesday afternoon to inquire about the status as I hadn't heard anything and was told the financial person in charge, Mark, was out due to a family emergency. The receptionist asked if I wanted to leave a voicemail and I declined as I didn't want to bother him. I called back on Friday and this time I did leave a voicemail as when I called I asked for him and was not told whether he was in or not. I still did not hear anything back so I called again on Monday and was now sent to a voicemail for someone named Bill. He didn't bother to call me back either. I gave him a couple of days figuring if Mark was out, maybe he took over and was swamped. Wednesday rolls around and I call and ask for Jon, my salesman. I ask him about the status and if they were able to find a lender for me. He wanted to know if anyone had called me back and I said no. He apologized for this, said he would find out, and get back to me. He even took my number again. Big surprise, he didn't call back either. Now I'm guessing they can't get me financed so I start looking elsewhere. On monday, August 15, I called and spoke with Jon again. He asked if I had heard back, I said no, and again he apologized. At this point I asked for a refund on my $5,000 deposit. Obviously they aren't able to find a lender. Jon took down my visa debit card number and told me they would refund the whole amount that day and that it would take a couple of days to post back to my account. Skip to Thursday, August 18, nothing is even pending in my account so once again I am calling them. I ask the receptionist whom I think is named Shannon but I'm not sure, to whom do I speak to about refunds. She tells me that is her, so I ask her and she doesn't remember doing one for that amount. She says she will find out and call me back. She didn't. I call her back exactly one hour later and she tells me it got lost on the manager's desk and it hasn't been done. I ask her to do it now and she says she can't as it needs the managers approval and he's not in. OK fine. So of course I'm getting a bit mad so I ask why wasn't this handled on Monday as I went elsewhere and I had given them enough time to get the money back into my account so I could close the deal with the other dealership. She asks if I would like to speak with Mark as she is just the receptionist, so I do and he just basically says the same thing and that they will get it done ASAP, but they need the manager's approval. To which I tell him at my current employer, if a supervisor/manager is not in, we get a verbal approval via phone/text. Again he just says they'll get it done ASAP. I also told him if it wasn't done by Friday I'd get a lawyer involved to which he responded go ahead if I feel the need to. (At this point I should say that I did find another vehicle at a Jeep dealership in Oneida and I have financing already taken care of and am just waiting on this deposit to be refunded to me so I can pick up my new 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. They advised me that a refund shouldn't need an approval and that they could even cut me a paper check.) I call Mark again within a few minutes and tell him that I feel like they are giving me the run around. I'm worried as this is a large amount of money, and I feel that they are prohibiting me from closing my deal with the other dealership and, as suggested by said dealership, to cut me a check so I can pick up that night or Friday. To which he responded that Shannon just refunded the money to my card. GREAT! So now it's August 20, I still have not received my refund and I needed to push back my pick up date for my new vehicle to next Thursday. I AM LIVID!! Who does business like this?

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
The worst car dealership I have ever bought from!! I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, brought it home and that night noticed lights on inside. The main brain (radio that controls everything!) could not update. It would not shut off so my battery went dead. Brought it back and they had it for a month replacing the main brain. They lost my keys while it was there and when I picked it up, filthy!! My brand new mats, that I had to purchase because the car didn't come with any, were loaded with salt and the outside was a mess!! 3 months later I go for an oil change and find that my back brakes are rotted! Rusted and digging in to the rotors. The dealer didn't notice this when I asked to put new tires on when I bought it???? BS!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Shelly! We're so glad to hear you had a great experience with our team.
Great Experience. Easy to work with.
Very easy to deal with sales. Willing to let me test drive and take car. Worked out great for me. Got a fair offer on my trade and needed little negotiation.

Service department has problems
Bought a new 2018 Jeep Renegade in December in April check engine light and transmission lights both came on. First visit all they did was reset the computer to clear codes. On my way home from picking it up both lights back on. Took it back this time they claimed it was the valve body it was replaced. Not even week later both lights back on. Took it for the third time this time they replaced the transmission we didn’t have the Jeep the whole month of May. Pick up the Jeep end of May brand new transmission half way home smell antifreeze get home check tank was empty. Fill it up next morning puddle of antifreeze under Jeep. Take it back to them again they say a hose camp wasn’t tight. Get the Jeep home after picking it up same thing. After talking to Eric in the service department and him trying to make me fell dumb they look st it again, they claim they didn’t do anything to it but it magically was fixed. Now to the present brand new transmission will not always shift into reverse, and going down the highway shift erratic or won’t shift at all. Call Eric in service he blows me off telling me can’t get it in for over a week I explain to him I do not think it’s going to make it said that’s the best he can do. After stewing about it all day I decided to call service manger after getting some attitude from him all of a sudden they can get it in the next day with a loaner car. Not going to happen I have given them to many chances either they don’t want to deal with this car anymore or the service just plain suck and have no clue. On top of that they had to replace the ac which didn’t work at all

Unpleasant Experience
Worst experience I have had purchasing a vehicle. They were great until they knew, they had the sale, then they were terrible. I ordered a special package configuration and they got it from another dealership. Communication ceased, I had to call to get any updates about the process. about a week later I call and find out it will be there that night. I talk with that sales man and we agree that I come in the next morning as soon as they open to inspect the vehicle. After taking time off of work I show up, and the vehicle ISN'T there! after waiting it still hadn't arrived and I had to leave to go to work. I looked at ever dealership in the area. If one had the same configuration I would have purchased there but no other dealership had that same configuration. After all that the time they wasted and the hassle I had to go through was only worth a single oil change to them. Worst experience I have ever had. Go to drivers village.

They try to steal your trade
Complete joke of a used car buying experience. First they appraised my car without looking at it or asking about any of the options, then they came in at $4000 under KBBs lowest price. No manager bothered to speak to me before i left. I'll never spend a penny there.

Great experience
I just bought a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Romano. My sales guy was Don Santella. Working with Don was a great experience. He was very professional and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you are looking for a new vehicle this is the place to go. Everyone was great. Thank you Romano .
