I don't know where to begin to list the ways my experience here was unprofessional, mishandled, and so costly in terms of time and trouble. I've lost track of the number of times I've had to call them because they didn't communicate with each other, forgot something, overcharged me, were delayed, or sent the wrong information. At one point, I was told by one of managers that something was wrong with the about-to-be new-to-me used car. I shared that every site warned that the issue was a serious concern, and his response was, "Don't believe everything you read on the xxxxing internet!" THEN it turned out that the information he gave me was incorrect to begin with. ...Now that I have my car and finally my plates, it continues. First, I got a letter saying that I was declined for financing after they submitted my information to credit agencies. Then I got a letter congratulating me for being pre-approved for financing. Thing is...I paid for my car in cash a month ago. I could go on, but I'm too tired. I really like my Mazda CX5. But I highly suggest you buy yours somewhere else.

Bait and Switch

Twice now the dealership has listed vehicles online that they do not have in stock. Both times we've called ahead (one of which was minutes before arriving) to confirm the vehicle we wanted to look at was still available. The first time, they told us the vehicle had just sold. The second time they tried to show us a different vehicle, pretending like it was the one we asked about. It wasn't until we noticed the mileage was different than the one we were there to look at and said something, that the sales person even acknowledged that it was a different vehicle. They then pretended to look for it in the back of the lot, then came back telling us it was sold a few days ago and the online listing hadn't been updated. We will never purchase from this dealership. Honesty goes a long way, especially in an industry known for lying to get the deal.

Do yourself a favor, don't use this dealer

My sales experience with Walker's Renton Mazda was terrible. The loan paperwork was filled out wrong, they lied to me, and haven't followed up with me when I emailed about issues. Do yourself a favor, do not buy from this dealer. There are plenty of other Mazda dealers in the area. I understand they are in it to make money, but they don't even pretend to care. That is bad business. The part that bothers me the most is that I was told there were 2 keys to the vehicle. Nope, while getting ready to go and all the paperwork is signed, so that I am legal bound to take the car as it is, they come out and tell me there never was a second key. Then they ask, "Is that okay?" Um, no. But instead of offering to have one made and offer to cover the cost, because they mislead me to believe that I was signing for a car with 2 keys, they offer to let me buy one from their shop. That is never going to happen. They were asked several times if there was a second key. I don't ever want to spend more money with this dealer and I will never recommend them because they give a crap. They'd made their sale and were ready to move on and make the next sale. This car was never cleaned. It wasn't dirty, but every couple of days I find more trash in this car. Receipts in the glove box, pens under mats, and trash popping out of the sunglasses compartment. This is all trash that would have been easily found if any cleaning had been done. This car was out for display, so it isn't like I showed up and asked to look at a car that was still being processed. They filled out my loan paper with the wrong address and my license number was wrong. I fixed it as I went, but when the loan paperwork was sent to my new bank it had an Idaho street address with a Washington zip code. They sent me a "thank you for your business" email with the wrong address too, to which I replied and asked about the address issue. No response. They didn't care and left me to deal with straightening it out with the bank. They tried to tell me a used car could not be offered a 6 year loan. They haggled down to the price I wanted, so it didn't matter. Then I go to the finance department and they immediately ask if I want to add service agreements and I can extend the loan out to make it fit my budget. Sales people do not have to act like this.

Refreshing Buying Experience

A truly positive buying experience at Walker. Started with an unsupervised test drive of several vehicles; a zero pressure sales process; easy price negotiation and a pleasant delivery. Facilities are small and aged but the dealership is moving to a new facility next year that looks to be impressive.

Clears check engine light without fixing new car

I purchased a brand new 2018 Mazda3 Touring 2.5L from Walkers Renton Mazda on Friday November 16, 2018 I had previously given a down payment on the vehicle I wanted (before it had arrived at the dealership) and was prepared to purchase the car if it met my expectations and examination in person. On this day, the car only had 4 miles on the odometer when I began my test drive, and just 10 miles on the odometer after completion of the test drive. The car seemed fine to me and I decided to complete the purchase. It took an unusually long time (note: more about this later) for Walker’s Renton Mazda to complete the sales transaction while I waited, but after about 2 hours, the car deal was complete. I drove the car from the dealer’s lot to my home (about 17 miles, with the odometer now at 27). It remained in my attached garage without further use until Sunday, November 18, 2018. On Sunday I was set to go on a short trip, 7 miles away. To my surprise, I noticed a check engine light on (engine system malfunction) and stayed on. I checked the gas cap, made sure it was tightened, looked under the hood, but not see anything amiss. I drove off carefully, not noting any driving or handling issues despite this check engine light that remained illuminated. I arrived at my destination, with the car having 34 miles on the odometer. After about 1 hour, I was ready to go back to my home and started the car for my journey back, but now 4 lights were constantly illuminated with the engine running. Looking up the symbols, there were actually a total of 5 warning guidance’s: the engine system malfunction, DSC malfunction, TPMS system malfunction, and 2 SCBS malfunction warnings. I turned the engine off and on, but all these lights just stayed on. I tried to see how the car would run and realized the engine was clearly not running properly, as it jerked violently, surged, hesitated and at times seemed poised to stall. This brand new car was unsafe for me to proceed on the road and I am just thankful I was able to quickly determine this and not have this occur on the highway whereby something truly catastrophic may have resulted. As it was a Sunday, I decided to leave the car where it was and to call Mazda to arrange a tow, as per their policy, to the nearest Mazda dealer. The car was towed to the nearest dealership, University Mazda in Seattle WA which is not the same dealership where I purchased the car (Walker’s Renton Mazda). They told me they would conduct diagnostic tests and not to expect it completed that day. University Mazda’s master technician had at first thought there was a problem with the PCM control unit but ultimately figured out that it was a faulty throttle body that was causing the problems. University Mazda finally completed the replacement of the throttle body on Thursday, November 29th, so I had to suffer the inconvenience of having my brand new car in the repair shop for 10 days. But to make matters much much worse, to my utter shock and dismay, the University Mazda service consultant and master technician indicated that the issues affecting this new car had been known previously by Walker’s Renton Mazda and that the error codes were previously cleared by the dealer and the car was not fixed. So prior to them completing the sale of this car to me (and most likely after my test drive while I was supposedly waiting for the paperwork to be completed) the check engine light(s) illuminated and stayed illuminated, and the decision by the sales people of Walker’s Renton Mazda was to order the error code cleared, to make their sale.

Great customer service

Mazda was not even in my list for a new SUV but Christian did a great job explaining Mazda SUV's benefits and features. He even showed us another similar SUV from a competitor that was in our list of preferred options. At the end we went for Mazda.

Happy with our Certified Preowned Mazda

We searched a huge area for a specific Mazda. We negotiated much of the deal from over 100 miles away. After I made the trip, the dealership stuck to their word. We got good money for our trade, a fair deal on the car, and we are happy with the purchase. Ask for Cage Mattioda if you are in the market for a used car.

Great experience.

Doug went above and beyond to help us get the car we wanted. His customer service was exceptional. We will be back again. We also wanted to thank the service dept. Their excellent service is one of the main reasons we returned to Mazda for a new car. Thank you.
