    We bought a 2019 vehicle with 10,700 miles on it at Deery Brothers Chevrolet in Pleasant Hill .One hour and sixty miles later? Major drive ability issues;... abs, traction control, engine light all on. Immediately in limp mode and shuddering. Dealership literally left all responsibility on us, and through thorough digging my wife found written proof that dealership was FULLY aware of issues ( vehicle was at Waukee location for exactly those issues) including a steering complaint. In Deery Chevrolet/ Deery Waukee’s own paperwork it clearly states for the technician to reassemble so Pleasant Hill could show the vehicle, and ABSOLUTELY no follow up AT ALL as to addressing repairs. We’ve owned vehicle for six weeks and it has been at Southtown in Indianola ( excellent staff there by the way) for four of those weeks. We were offered to bring vehicle back but they would only give market trade minus miles driven, towards another vehicle. They then dinged my wife’s credit at least four more times after offering only one vehicle that they said was being discounted just for us by $3,000.00, yet live market price for it online was the same amount. So what discount? As of right now, July 17th 2020, the vehicle is back at Southtown once again, and we have no car ( our trade is long gone). So until the problems are solved we are borrowing our COLLEGE STUDENT daughter’s car until her return to school in three weeks.

    Please do not buy a car from this dealership. I worked with salesperson Justus Marnin and sales manager Torren Millbrooks. I purchased a 2008 Chevrolet... Equinox. It was an old car and I wasn't expecting anything perfect. I was expecting a car with some issues but I was assured when I was purchasing the vehicle that it was a safe and reliable vehicle that would get me from a to b. I was told that, several times, that I was getting such a good deal because they are more worried about "word of mouth" after the sale. Anyway, I purchased it on a Wednesday afternoon. I live around an hour from Pleasant Hill and by the time I was home it was close to overheating. After I got home, turned it off, the cooling fan ran for about 10 minutes. I dropped it off at my local auto repair shop to have it looked over. About an hour later, I received a call from them and I was told to take the car back to wherever I bought it from and get my money back. I told him it was from a dealership in Pleasant Hill and he said "oh, then you should have no problem working something out with them". Sadly, this turned out to be true. I was told that the car has a blown head gasket, transmission is about to fail, it leaks everywhere, there are issues with the rear axle, etc, etc. I was told that the list goes on and on and on. I was told the vehicle is not safe to drive and there highly recommended I don't drive it. I emailed the salesperson Justus and was pretty much told, too bad, it's your problem, not ours. So, I moved up the chain and talked with the sales manager Torren and after about 15 conversations back and forth was told that the best they could do was have me come in and buy a better vehicle and they would give me fair market value of the vehicle I bought from them. I said "well, now you know that it's a piece of junk and not worth anything" and he agreed. I attempted to contact both the general sales manager Tom Sweeden and the general manager Tony Nordman but I never heard a thing back. It has been a few weeks and I was hoping they would step up and try to make things right. I was wrong. I think if you are going there and are wiling to spend a bunch of money on a new vehicle you are probably fine but if you are looking for a cheaper low end vehicle, DO NOT GO HERE. They do not care about you, at all. This was a painful lesson to learn and unfortunately situations like this is what gives auto dealers a bad name.

    Will steal your trade. Spent 25,000 no owners manual or spare key fob for the vehicle. Will never go back again. No follow up after the sale.

    Planning on buying a vehicle? Make sure you DONT head over to DEERY BROTHERS IN PLEASANT HILL!!! Terrible people! Promised if anything came up and was... wrong with it, they'd fix it. BRANDON said he's not a sleezy guy and would make sure my boys were safe( 2 week old, 1.5 yer old) When I called back, they said they'd drop 100$ of the $500 parts we need. Had problems within 24 hours and they won't make it right. They said they put 2500$ into every used vehicle and there wasn't this problem when we bought it. Lazy people if you ask me. Terrible "sleezy" people.

    I have purchased approximately 10 vehicles from Dan and John Deery in Cedar Fslls. Upon moving to Des Moines I helped my son purchase a vehicle from the... Deery Brothers in Pleasant Hill. A month ago I purchased a used vehicle and there are some fixes that needed to be done to satisfy me as a customer. Toby in the service department and General Manager, Tony, went above and beyond to address my concerns. I recommend a car purchase and service work done at any dealership with the Deery Brother’s name.

    Darrell made our buying experience pleasant. We started out looking for a used vehicle for our high school son. We ended up with a new 2019 Silverado plus... a used truck. Then our oldest son purchased a new truck from Deery. We recommended it to our daughter as well and she purchased a very nice 2014 truck. Never once was Darrell pushy and made our experiences remarkable. The staff is friendly there and I would highly recommend this dealership to everyone. Go see Darrell, you won’t regret you did.
