Robbed

For those of you contemplating pruchasing a vehicle from Select Auto - Do Not!! Let me tell you a story of dishonesty, manipulations, conivance let alone disception & greed. I will keep it short & as brief as possible. Based on a friends recomendation I puchased a 2014 Buick Enclave AWD 4dr with a so called Mileage: of 77,777 Retail $15,995 - was initially pleased with the car. Then found out it would not pass NYS inspection & required both front & rear catalytic converters needed to be replaced as did the exchaust line (which ws cracked) - this cost me $4300. Then after having the car washed & every rainfall there after - it poured water through the rear view & under both driver & passenger side. That isn,t even the end - the electrical system then went south (no sound -nothing not even the blinkers). So he finally agreed to replace the buick with an "equal value" vehicle - i should have known better that to trust this individual. Not only did i have to pay for the Back & forst transport - i not only received a far less valued vehicle (7800 vs the 15,995). which by the was u=is what he is selling the buick for. End of story the Mitsubishi Outlander i was sent as a replacement had a dead headlight & windshield was her that did not work - guest what they found while replacing this. The engine is Zip tied together. Those that had possitive experiences - wish yourself lucky. So now i find out on the Carfax Report that the Mitsubishi has had 2 Accidents and 3 Damage Reports!!! So much for transparency & honesty - instead of fair pricing it's all about greed.

Dishonesty

I came to Select Auto because I needed a little car and I was also hoping that it would help me continue raising my credit score. Obviously you can't have a good score if you don't pay your bills.well I have a decent score, but still would like to improve it. I met the owner, he assured me that he could put me in a car. I give 2 stars because that much he did. It took him hours to secure financing, but I did get a car. Due to details that had nothing to do with me, the bank financing fell through. Instead of just letting me know that I needed to bring the car back, he and his employee both bald faced lied to me in an effort to have me bring the car back. This man has obviously had many situations that have colored his opinions of people, but not everyone is a thief, a liar, or otherwise willing to risk going to jail for not returning the car. I tried to reach out and see if we could still make the deal, but in essence, I was lied to and tricked. I wanted a fair chance to get a car, and also increase my credit rating but ultimately if people are set in their views and opinions of people in general, then how can you expect honesty and transparency from them. It's for that reason that this man only gets a generous 2 stars from me.

DONT GO HERE

i went there to look at a 2017 ford escape with 30k miles, what a steal, right? no. i get to the lot and they say they have to put a new battery in it.. ok sure. new battery in, turn the car on (struggles to start) but i take it to my mechanic anyways because 30k miles is very good. drives fine, get to the mechanic and the car dies. (that’s about 15 mins later) also every single light that could be on the dash, was on. check engine light, passenger airbag, low tire pressure, oil change, low wiper fluid, etc literally every single light flashed on when the car turned on. my mechanic had to jump the car and i didn’t even bother to have it checked out. obviously they don’t care about xxxxing you over. don’t go here.

Worth a look but bring a mechanic

Bought a sedan for the daughter on a cash deal so never dealt with any financing. I knew going in that the car had a salvage title but it was newer and less miles on the odometer than average. The one guy seemed surprised yet confused when I brought it up but he confirmed it later. I knew this by googling the VIN number and discovering it was bought at auction in Columbus and actually seeing the "before" pictures from there. You folks should try that when buying. It was priced accordingly and the mechanic/body guy did a good enough job replacing panels and windshield. Drives and brakes straight, no shimmies and it'll work. Just skipped a few minor things though that are no big deal. Got title mailed in 2 weeks or so and paying cash makes it so easy. I had to replace brakes and one rotor but figured it was cheaper for parts and I do it myself than deal with his 50% co-pay warranty. My big tips are doing research on the VIN history and being heavily mechanically inclined or bring someone who is to "grade" the workmanship. Use the bathroom and take a quick peek into the shop, looked pretty straight up to me. Watch those mileages too and know what things are going to need serviced soon (e.g. timing belt, transmission, tune up, etc). Watch for "stale" cars that been there that seems forever too. I'd buy again if the deal is right. I'm actually writing this as I'm checking his lot online. Originally found him from Car gurus on that Great or Good deal Nissan once I looked past that rebuilt title. I'm usually the last owner of cars and drive them until they totally die so title status means nothing to me anyways. You'll need a bit of time if you try to finance or there are 2-3 customers in front of you. Same car, same mileage but clean title was $3,000 more at a regular branded dealer so my time and understanding that it was wrecked was worth it. Overall, it's OK but keep these points in mind.

Did not disclose a rebuilt title until after sale

Purchased a used vehicle on 2/24/2022. On 3/7/2022, I was contacted by Raj and informed that the vehicle now had a salvage-rebuilt title. I am now going to lose all of the money in repairs I put in this vehicle if I return it, or take a huge hit on the value of the vehicle if I keep it.

Terrible......Terrible.

Truly and utterly the worst experience I could have imagined. Please take note and read the other detailed reviews written! In an absolute rush and desperate need I only skimmed over the good reviews. GUYS those are fake. This review along with any other review over one sentence are actual depictions of this place. Con artists, liars, and cheats. I signed my loan papers for the 2011 Chevy Cruze , only to be told as I'm about the drive it off the lot there's a gear shifting issues. I was told by the owner RAJ to take it to Vos Chevy to be fixed. I did as told and for Two Weeks it sat at Vos Chevy. Not because Vos couldn't fix it but because the owner would not agree to repairs. After weeks of back and forth Raj finally gave the go ahead for repairs. At least I thought..... Nope just another well crafted dodge by that Shyster. He's slippery and smart and he will give you every excuse in the book as to why repairs are taking so long. His excuse was that Vos was going to charge too much and he had a neighbor who'd fix it cheaper. So I bought a car that did not work when purchased and was made to wait two weeks for repairs then told when the problem was identified and ready to be fixed it would not be because he wanted to fix it cheaper. I gave him a 24 hour warning and was assured the car would be ready. The car was being repaired that day he assured but when I arrived the car wasn't even in the garage and I was told they were waiting for parts? LIE!!!! I got $100 back from my 300 down payment and walked away. I don't know what to say it's surreal this shop is in business and that people get away with this. The employee Shawn seems to be a good guy and if I dealt soley with him I'd probably have a car. Unfortunately Shawn boss will answer your calls, threaten to cancel, lie, and give you every excuse in the book. 1 star out of 5 .....and that 1 star goes go the root beer stand next door....so when your made to wait 6 hours to sign papers at least there's a decent hot dog in it for you.
