Horrible experience! Sales rep put holes in my bumper to put on a license plate instead of installing the license plate bracket ($70) which is required by Illinois before the vehicle was purchased then Carmax offered to fix the holes at a body shop where they drilled into the bumper to put on the license plate. They sent my vehicle to be fixed at a body shop they say they work directly with and the vehicle came back with other damage on it that was not there originally when I purchased it. They called me to pick up my vehicle and upon arrival the holes in the bumper were fixed but there was now extensive body damage/scratches on the front, side and back that was not there previously. No one at Carmax inspected my vehicle, washed it to get a clean view of the body work or made sure it was in good condition before calling me to pick it up and advising it was completed. No one noticed the additional damage and acted surprise when I brought it to their attention. This damage is visible to the naked eye!! Poor customer service! This experience was jarring! The manager David was condescending and even advised maybe my standards were too high to be met by Carmax. I advised my standards for the vehicle was how I purchased it. With no damage!!! I inspected the vehicle front to back and test drove it twice before deciding to purchase it. The vehicle was in good condition before they drilled holes in the bumper to save $70 and caused these additional issues to the vehicle upon sending it to a body shop to fix an issue they caused. This has been a nightmare and should not happen to anyone!!! You entrust your vehicle to be serviced and transported safely to the dealer or service department and returned to you in the same condition you left it in!!!

If you’re not looking to be served champagne and want a simplified buying experience this is the place to go! The no haggle pricing takes some of the anxiety out of the car buying experience, and if you cross check the vehicle on cars.com it will directly tell you if you’re getting a good deal or great deal or fair deal. We purchased a Porsche Cayenne from them and Dan and Brian were awesome! Thank you!!

Wide selection and no haggle are a plus over other dealerships. I like being able to see how many different makes and models. CarMax is the only place I will shop

This was my first time buying a car and I was incredibly nervous and was afraid to trust anyone as we have all heard those nightmare stories...I am now positive that there are good dealerships out there and CARMAX is one of them! I felt no pressure to buy, I was educated on my purchases as well as the 8 other cars that happened to catch my eye. My saleman Tony was great giving me comparisons on the other vehicles and was very patient. I would definitely recommend going to CARMAX to anyone! EASY BREEZY!!
