Once I "held" the car for a viewing/test drive, then I was able to get super customer service from Rocky and Moya. Prior to that, I was on hold for over 20 minutes on two separate occasions just looking to get availability and a few other questions answered. Just couldn't stand being put into a telephone black hole--so frustrating and disrespectful.

I doubt they inspect cars before selling them!
If you can buy from somewhere else, DO IT! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!! They crashed one of our cars on the lot, then sold us another that had a RODENT NEST under the hood, LEAKING OIL, electrical problems, etc... I called to make an appointment to get it checked, and they told me it would take at least 10 days to get it in there!!! They truck is less than 2 weeks old (conveniently broke down after the 7 day period) and they expect me to wait that long for things that should have been dealt with before it was put up for sale. This leads me to believe THEY DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE RESELLING IT!!!! The vehicle also has this blackish powdery substance all over under the hood. Don't bother calling the 800 number, they're just a feel good hotline that takes a memo and sends it to the same people who are causing the problems. So they finally take the truck in to get repaired and they don't bother to call me and update me, nor provide me a loaner vehicle... RUN AWAY AND DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! After the sale you are just a piece of trash to them

Lied to sell me a car!
BEWARE: Lied to sell me a car! The car buying process was fine and as promised; however, they lied to sell me a car. We came in to see a few models, decided on one and found the one we wanted another store to be transferred. We started the transfer process, asked if there were any issues or SMELLS, to which they replied no (lie #1), and paid to have it shipped. It arrived shortly and we came in to purchase it. We noticed an odd odor, which the salesman stated was the chemical cleaner they use (lie #2). Shortly after owning the vehicle, the cleaner wore off leaving the distinct smell of smoke. We’ve since brought it in 4+ times to have it cleaned/treated for smoke smell with no resolution. I’ve asked to be contacted by a manager several times but was not, so I called. I spoke with an Anthony/Tony whom stated he was the head of ops/oversees service. The kept circling around we’ve done everything we can do, you can bring it in to try again but he didn't believe there was anything different that could be done. he also stated I’d have to speak with the sales manager for any dissatisfaction with the “expectation” from the salesman. I asked to speak with the next level person as I felt this was unacceptable; he replied there was no one else (lie #3). I later called back asking for a general manager and spoke with Joe in Operations/Sr Management whom confirmed he does oversee Anthony/Tony. Joe said he’ll look into the details, talk to his partner, the General Manager, and let me know.

Graduation Gift Bust
Went to CarMax on West Sahara on Thursday to purchase a car for a graduation present for our son. We wanted it to present to him on Saturday, before graduation. On Friday, my husband went to CarMax with check in hand to complete the purchase. Papers were signed, keys given, and he drove away in the car. Saturday morning, my husband got a call from the salesman. Apparently, the salesman had incorrectly put the VIN of another car in the paperwork. The car that we had test driven and agreed to purchase was approximately $3000 more than the quoted price in the paperwork. CarMax asked us to return the car, and we could take possession of the car in the paperwork - one that we hadn’t seen or test driven. We felt that this was the error of the salesman, and CarMax should rectify the situation. We went over to the office and spoke to the manager, he said there was nothing they could do. We could look at the car that we had the paperwork for, but they would not correct their paperwork and allow us to keep the car that we wanted. We decided to return the car, and not do business with CarMax. Management of CarMax wanted my husband to sign a Return Agreement, but the reason CarMax stated for the Reason for Vehicle Return was “Does not like vehicle appearance.” This was not the case. The salesman had made a mistake, and CarMax was trying to get us to take responsibility for it. While waiting for paperwork, the original salesman came over to where we were waiting, and started trying to partly blame us for the situation. The General Manager kept saying, “I’m sorry”, but it was apparent through their actions that not only were they not sorry, but they were unwilling to take responsibility for their salesman’s mistake. It was out of line and extremely unprofessional for the salesman to come up to us and try to make us partly culpable in this situation. Unfortunately, today is graduation. We have no car, CarMax has our money, and they will not return our money to us until later this week. Graduation gift bust!

Buying process greatly exceeded our expectations
Best car buying experience my wife and I have ever had. They still use the age old "up" system in greeting walk in prospects, which is fair to the sales people, but we didn't feel like we were just a number. No price negotiations here as the posted price is what it is and the sales people don't work on commission. We had searched their inventory via internet and indicated the vehicle which we were interested in looking at. It was parked at the front entrance waiting for us when we arrived at our appointment time. We ended up buying it. Will buy our next car here too.

Beware when trading in a Vehicle
I was very happy with my purchase as well as the entire process that CarMax provides. What I AM NOT HAPPY about is that my trade-in still had $7000 remaining on my loan and I brought with me the exact payoff. At the time that I went in to speak with the representative my bank was already closed and I was told I had to put down 8480.04 to cover any overage that my previous loan had on it. He told me that was ok and that they would get an estimated payoff and my bank would REFUND the monies back to me. This is not the truth! They only apply the remaining funds to the principle of the new loan. Had I known the truth I would have waiting until they called my bank. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wish I would never made this Purchase!!!!

MIKELV
I purchased a Chevrolet Silverado pickup from CarMax on W. Sahara. The vehicle vibrated badly at highway speed. Didn't realize this during the test drive because the test drive route did not allow for highway speeds (60-75mph). Took the vehicle to my mechanic who told me that the tires were cracking, had very low tread, and needed to be replaced ASAP. I took the truck to Henderson CarMax because it was closer to my house (by far the better dealership). Henderson CarMax measured the tires using a tire tread gauge and stated that two of the tires were below spec, needed to be replaced, and ordered me two new tires. I immediately contacted the service manager Nathan at CarMax W. Sahara and explained to him what was going on. Nathan said bring the vehicle by so he could take a look at it. I took the truck to Nathan he measured the tires with a tire tread gauge and said I see what you?re saying these tires are not new by any means but, they are within spec. I asked him to explain to me how Henderson CarMax and my mechanic both found deficiencies with the tires but, when he inspected them they are good to go. I explained to him that the truck was vibrating at highway speed. Nathan stated we can schedule an appointment to look into that but these tires are fine. We are not replacing them. Service manager (Nathan) was very rude. I ask him for his boss?s name. Nathan stated it?s the general manager Mike but I wouldn't waste your time. He is not going to do anything unless I tell him too. Called the GM Mike. Left a detailed message with his secretary. He never returned my call. This is No way to treat customers CarMax W. Sahara. Wow, anything to save a buck for this crooked dealership! Would not recommend CarMax W. Sahara to anyone. Stay away!!! They will rip you off too.
