I inquired about a used 2023 Nissan Leaf that was listed

I inquired about a used 2023 Nissan Leaf that was listed at what appeared to be a competitive price—until I found out (only after calling and asking directly) that the advertised price included the $4,000 federal EV tax credit. That credit is something the buyer applies for after purchase, assuming they qualify. It’s not a dealer discount (how it was shown on the website), and it has no place being baked into the listed price without clear disclosure. What makes this worse is that the dealership promotes a “market value pricing” philosophy and claims to be upfront with “no hidden fees.” Including a post-sale tax benefit in the sale price—without any mention of it—is the very definition of misleading. It’s deceptive and undermines trust in the entire process. I expect better from a dealership that claims transparency and integrity.
