Misleading Pricing

My son purchased a car from prospect auto where the advertised price was $6,995. They then charge document fees of $695. They prepared document to provide to the registry that show taxes of $481, leading him to believe the the $481 was included in the $695 doc fees. When he attempted to register it he was charged an extra $481 in sales tax, he was told the paperwork provided didn't certify that prospect auto would pay the tax so we needed them to refund us. After contacting them they refused to refund the taxes and stated they were allowed to charge doc fees. When I checked the law both statements were true, however the Massachusetts Consumer Blog clarifies the law related to document fees stating they need to be included in the advertised price. In effect my son ended up paying an extra 10% unfairly. See below and beware of prospect auto. "When a dealer advertises the price of a car, the doc fees must be included in the advertised price. If the dealer tries to charge more than the advertised price, it is deemed an unfair and deceptive practice under the Attorney General's motor vehicle regulations. "

FRAUD!!!

FRAUD!!! Went to see a red 2014 jeep cherokee sport listed on their website and Autotrader.com after confirming availability. Add states "pristine condition and no accidents, clean car fax" but was shown a DIFFERENT car with different colored interior and very obviously been in at least one accident with body damage on 3 panels and the rear of the vehicle! Same VIN # listed on Autotrader.com, but conveniently left off website! VIN: 1C4PJMAB0EW269896.

Waste of my time

I called 2 days ago about a car and was told it was still available, before hanging up the person at Prospect told me "make sure you call ahead before you drive here to make sure it's still available". This morning I call again and specifically said, before I drive all the way there, I am coming from quite a distance to check out the car, is this car still available and again I'm told, yes it's still here. I tell them OK, I am leaving now and, on my way,...see you soon. I drive a little over 2 hours one way there only to have them tell me "sorry, we sold that car 5 minutes ago but I have others I can show you" Completely annoyed that I have just wasted gas and my time, round trip almost 5 hours, I tell the person sitting behind the desk, "I specifically called you to tell you I was interested, driving from far away, and on my way only to get here and the car is gone?" The response I received..."sorry, they had cash". I get the whole first come first serve way of doing business, but I called them ahead of time, I took the afternoon out of work, wasted my time driving up there for nothing. Not a good way to run your business and I was definitely not interested in looking at any other vehicles that they had after experiencing that. Not a good experience. PS. I had cash too.

Looking for an SUV

Dave was fantastic, he took a great deal of time to help me decide on just the perfect SUV for my needs. He was, professional, helpful, courteous and patient. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will receding prospect auto to anyone with out hesatition.

2013 honda

I went in to buy my daughter a car. We got a very nice Honda that has been perfect. David was very very helpful to us and patient as my slow credit union financed it. He took care of everything for us. It was a good experience and we're very happy. I felt that I was treated honestly and I will definitely go back

Excellent dealer, (sometimes) questionable cars

I stopped in because I'd seen an older low-mileage Sienna on their website, which was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I was a little surprised to find it there, because they seem to specialize in high-mileage vehicles. As it turned out, it was just about exactly what I was looking for, and I ended up buying it. David was quite helpful through the whole process, gave me a good value on my trade-in, and found me an excellent rate on my loan. The only things the car really needed were a new side-view mirror and new tires, and he replaced both without question as part of the purchase price. He was also quite willing, when I asked about a few other cars, to say "You don't want that: it's high mileage and needs some work. I'm going to sell it cheap to someone who wants to do their own repairs." I appreciated that, and it left me a lot more willing to trust that the car I was looking at really was in reasonable shape. The car does have a few small issues, but, well... it's a 10 year old car. I'd be shocked if there wasn't anything wrong with it. Overall, I'm quite pleased, and I hope they're still there the next time I'm looking for a car.

Excellent Service and would do it again!!

My wife and I visited Prospect St. Auto -found a vehicle we liked -Scott And Dave gave us room -they answered questions-treated us respectfully...No pressure at all -- really REFRESHING!! Scott then worked with us to finance and was attentive all the way. I will continue to bring my business to Prospect St. Auto. Since our dealings with them -Our Daughter has purchased a vehicle and was amazed at the way she was treated -Excellent!!!

we found every thing we were looking for and more

My wife and I wanted to by a Ford Ranger We noticed one in the lot It was perfect exactly what we wanted.Scot was very attentive let loook the car over answered all our question and provided a cae fax report. We decided tom buy it .Scott worked so hard with the bankx to get the deal we wanted always calling me to keep me informed. The few small issues were taking care of quickly with no resistance. Scot and his partner made us feel special and made all efforts to make our experience wonderful. He even drove to our house to drop the car off becouse it was mor conveneint for us. Plus he helped us sell my wifes old car, how much more can you ask for Thanks so much Paul and Luci
