CarMax made it very easy to purchase my car. I found the car I wanted filled out and signed all the paperwork online and the day I picked up the car I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, no last minute surprises just friendly people at the carmax store in Burbank. I would buy a car from them again.

I came to buy a truck and it had a lot of problems .
I came to buy a truck and it had a lot of problems . Went to return it and they made me wait like 5 hours just to return there truck. They say they guarantee a good car but there selling a truck that had problems. Not as easy as they make it sound and expensive price

Don't lose your time there
Got on Carmax website an estimate online, to sale my car, between $16,500 to $19000, but there they proposed only $9000. even when applying bigger damage online, the price doesn't drop below $13,000, specially that the car worth more than $22,500 at resale. This is not a business to trust. Except that, Bill was very nice.

Horrible
Their Service Department is the absolute worst, and their Service Advisors are LIERS, especially Mahdy! My vehicle has warranty from them until the end of February 2019 so I took it in for a service when my Check Engine Light came on, and when I diagnosed it myself it was for the thermostat. I took it in Thursday January 31st and did not get my vehicle back until Tuesday February 12. What should have been a maximum 2-3 day job, took 2 weeks and whenever I first called to know the status of my vehicle, if it was ready or not, Mahdy was not able to speak to me but another advisor I spoke to said the parts still aren't in when Mahdy told me they were, so now what can I believe. A simple Thermostat Job should be a days work once the parts are in mind you. They kept prolonging how long it should've taken for them to do the job and then they called me and told me my water pump needs to be replaced, okay take care of that. Same thing when I called to know the status, I'm being told they have everything by one person and another tells me they're still waiting for another part. BMW dealership delivers parts same day or first thing in the morning depending on what time of day you order it. My vehicle is finally ready for me to pick up, and as I get there and inspect it myself, I notice it's much dirtier than it was when I first took being covered in GREASE STAINS and finger marks all over. On top of that, I noticed the Right bottom end of my Front Bumper did not look normal, like they painted over it with a spray can or damaged it and tried to cover it up somehow. When I brought it up to Mahdy's attention, all he was saying was, "We do not do body work here, we have to send it out for body work and need authorization for it." After him repeating that a few times he started with, "It was like that when you brought it in, maybe your body shop did something to it." Assuming I've taken it to the body shop prior when I said I haven't and not mentioning it was like that when I brought it in the first time definitely made me believe these employees are trained to lie. It should not have taken 2 weeks for these people to fix my car, I should not have gotten it back as dirty as it was, and most importantly they should not have returned it to me with the damage it received and lie about it. DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS FOR SERVICE IF YOU WANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!

Dissastufued
Purchased used car for over $14,000. Turned out there was about $2,500 of deferred maintenance that had to be done. In about 8 months, all the fluids and filters needed changing, had to get new brakes and new battery, and power steering hoses and unit (?) needed to be changed. This all on a Honda. If SOME of the maintenance had been done would not be bad, but EVERYTHING!? I am very dissatisfied and will not recommend this Carmax (or any other) to my friends.
