Service Dept, GM and Mr. Scott Complaint

Failed to identify window leak even when there was a TSB out re it causing damage and said I was just new to WV mountain humidity and moisture conditions and thats why all my inside windows were covered in ICE or covered in moisture and had water on mats. Failure to call Orig Dealer I bought it from to verify it was still under warranty and instead insisted I pay for repair. Used the "well, if you had bought it here we would have covered it" language as seen by other customer complaints on review sites. Took 22 days, even when I provided them copies of TSBs to resolve rear window seal leak and TPMS/RKE issue (which started almost exactly a year after I started complaining about excessive interior moisture problems and ended up with mechanic taking EVERYTHING apart so much so that when I called to ask when it would be ready they said mechanic had it "in pieces" because couldn't get systems to communicate with each other. Said it was fixed and safe (they know I am in poor health) so was forced to pay out of pocket and picked it up for 10 1/2 hour drive each way (with my fiance driving me) for medical treatment and about a week after I got there, all sorts of electrical problems started happening (opened interior fuse areas and they were rusted) then suddenly just wouldn't start and had to have towed to dealer there. Had to pay out of pocket for rental car there for 2 weeks and 10 day trip turmed into 5 weeks. Complained to GM directly before picked up from Schaffer and until I traded it in). Dealer there said "nothing wrong with it just needed new battery". Schaffer, nor the GMC dealer there nor GM would take accountability, so I traded it in on a CPO non-GM vehicle to safely be able to get back home to WV. The 2020 GMC truck I had was my "bucket list dream truck' as I have life-threatening conditions. Instead of a dream, Schaffer service, along with the other GMC dealer and GM themselves turned it into a nightmare. Now, not only am I without my truck which should have been worth way more than the trade-in-value I received, but I am stuck with a vehicle that I did not really want, it doesn't have all the safety features and up-high visibility I had in my truck that allow me to keep driving safely, it doesn't have the Usability I had and it doesn't even have AWD or 4WD that is crucial for where we live deep in the mountains. I asked service dept to speak to General Manager or Owner when I took it in for repairs, was told they don't have GM and owner doesn't take or make calls. When I got back to WV, I called and ended up speaking with the Sales Mgr to try again to speak to Owner (he said Owner wasnt there) and told him if I didn't hear from Owner, I was going to file a complaint with WV Atty General, FTC, BBB and anywhere else I could. He said he would pass along msg for Owner to call me. Nope, almost been a week, no call. IMHO, Maybe it's because I am a Woman, Maybe it's because I have Health Problems and they perceive me as weak and unable to fight back, Maybe its because I didnt buy their extended warranty and now it was really out of the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty, maybe it's because I wasn't born or from WV, but if they, including GM, don't care about a customer (on my 4th new GM vehicle) who spent almost 73k on a new GM vehicle, how do you think they may feel about a 20k or 30k vehicle? All I can do is pray somehow God softens their hearts and they attempt to do right by customers in the future.

beware of the service work

Dealership will not stand behind their mistakes. Took our vehicle in for one problem and came out with another problem that they messed up and they would not fix it. Took it to several mechanics and body men for a second opinion and they all agreed that the dealership caused the problem and should own up to its mistake. Never the less I will start telling all my friends you may want to reconsider buying there.

Overall Grand Experience

The bad first: The physical dealership building is rather dated and worn around the edges...But Im looking at a new truck, not an appartment. The Good: My salesman was allowed to actually work on the price with out always running to the manager. He gave me the "best Price", and it was. No real wheeling and dealing. The owner came over and just chatted. A very pleasant experience
