DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

Don't bother scheduling an appointment for viewing. They'll just clean up the car and park it out front and let someone walk on the lot without an appointment and buy the vehicle out from under you when you're within minutes away from the dealership and scheduled appointment time. We drove over an hour just for this dealership to pull this on us. 2 hours round trip wasted.

Buyer Beware is always good advice

================================== If you are looking for a used car, they seem to have cars that are in reasonable condition. I purchased a 2014 Nissan Altima that had a good CARFAX history, was a lease vehicle, and was very clean and appeared to be in good working order. The problem I ran into concerned a third party Warranty. I really did not want the policy, but I have a physical issue which causes pain, and I was starting to hurt, but after about an hour of hearing about the service warranty, I finally gave in when they told me I could cancel it the next day if I wanted. I just wanted to go home before I started feeling worse, so I took it. They offered to assist in cancelling the warranty, but then did nothing, would not return emails, or phone calls and I finally searched online to find the contact to get the warranty cancelled. Also I had a tag to transfer to the Nissan and let them know this. I was told paperwork would be sent to me for doing that. It wasn't, instead a new tag showed up in the mail. The dealership gets fees for tag and title work, so that was why they did it. Also, the warranty would most likely involve a commission for selling, which is why they want you to take it. I searched reviews for the warranty company, and am glad I chose to cancel it. That is $3000 better spent on home and family. Overall, I did get a decent car, but be warned, any offers to help will evaporate the moment you drive away in your new car. That is what happened with me. I had to dig through paper work and go online in order to find out who the auto loan was with and how to pay my loan. I am pleased with my car, the dealership, not so much. ==================================

Bought a vehicle around a year ago from these guys and it

Bought a vehicle around a year ago from these guys and it has been back for repairs 5 times. Even with insurance, they still try and charge you for things and with labor, you can hit $1000 fast. They don't care about anyone except those who can afford the nice cars. If you are disabled or low income, you will get charged and treated terrible. I am being charged nearly $600 just for a battery to be installed. They are crooks who prey on people and take advantage of those who can't afford the nicer cars.

Bad wheel bearing

I bought a 2017 Kia Sorento here. Reasons for the 1 star review: 1) found the car at a good price on car gurus. We get there and the price is significantly more. They did give me the price listed after I pulled out the printout. 2) additional fees for paperwork added on. They eventually knocked the about $500 off when we were ready to walk away over it. 3) hugely undervalued our trade in. They came to a more reasonable price (still not great but OK) when we told them we would sell it ourselves and to take it off of the deal. 4) did a test drive and the car was making a weird screeching noise on turns. The salesman said they would fix whatever was wrong. Took it back and the shop said there was nothing wrong with it. We took the car and a few months later, when we took it in for inspection they stated that the brakes were very bad and that might be what was causing the noise we continued to hear. I did not get them to fix anything since the total repair would have been about $2,500 and I didn't trust them. Took it to my mechanic who found that one of the wheel bearings was bad. Pretty sure it was bad when we bought the car, when we took it back to get fixed, and when it was inspected. Not only did they not fix the noise when we took it back, we were driving a car that was not safe after being assured there was no problem. BTW, my mechanic fixed everything and inspected it for $800. Reasons 1-3 would not have gotten them a 1 star review - I think it's xxxxty but just part of the game and I could always walk away. Reason 4 could have caused serious issues, involved someone flat out lying, and is the reason they get 1 star.

If only we had read this site first.

If only we had read this site first....Our son purchased a used Outback here with a little support/advice from us as he has had medical challenges and struggles over the years and sometimes relies on us to help him make a decision. The salesman made a snide comment to him, when I stepped away, about who was buying the car, him or his mom. It is not nice to undermine people when you have no idea about them. When our son asked questions about the vibration in the motor, he got a very vague answer from salesman, but lacked the knowledge or confidence to pursue. The engine misfires and who knows what this will lead to. At any rate, a salesman "person" should be polite and respectful since he has no idea what is behind the customers eyes or what he has been through. The experience has left a bad, bad impression that we will share with everyone we know. Sadly, we directed our child here since we previously purchased a car with a better experience. Never again. The same old-fashioned slimy tactics where in play, simple questions took 5 minutes to answer and there had to be consultation with the hidden person behind the counter. We wanted to see the car after being told it would be there but suddenly the car was not available, the technician took it home for a "drive cycle". Not even a valid phrase. Waited 2+ hours for the finance people to take his check. Worst service ever so far. We will see if they do the right thing about checking out the problem with the engine.

Hello Betsy, Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Buying a vehicle is a big decision, and our team is expected to provide every guest the guidance they need to be confident in their choice. The feedback you have provided regarding your son’s experience is concerning and I can assure you it is not reflective of the high standards we hold for professionalism. Regrettably, I do not have your contact information due to the experience you are reviewing being your son’s and your username here not including a surname. Please email me your phone number and availability at dannalley@baierl.com and I will reach out to you. I hope to hear from you soon. Daniel Nalley General Manager dannalley@baierl.com

It can be expensive and time consuming to get your car

It can be expensive and time consuming to get your car serviced at the dealership. To save money, I had my friend change my brakes. However, he was unable to put on new rotors. Ultimately, I had to take the car to the dealership. I needed new wheel bearings. Another friend insisted he change them. Again, he had issue so today I am back at the dealership. The service team has never failed me. They fix my car, often times giving me a loaner. I leave feeling relaxed and confident my car will run forever. Just like everything in life, there’s a sacrifice. In my case, the money I tried to save ended up costing me more than if I had the dealership service the car. The inconvenience and stress of trying to save a $ has made me realize I will only allow South Hills to service my car. The facility is clean and comfortable. The employees are attentive, welcoming, and competent. I highly recommend South Hills Subaru😊.

I bought a used 2008 Toyota Highlander from this

I bought a used 2008 Toyota Highlander from this dealership. The car had low mileage(79k), but had a bad battery. The staff told me that car was going to be sent to auction at the end of the day. In haste, I blurted out, "I'll buy it." They were going to fix the battery the next day, so i didn't drive it off the lot. I got advice from family and decided to go back on my purchase. I was told by my family lawyer that I had 3 days to change my mind on the vehicle. Went there the next day with my father to renege on the vehicle, only to be told the paperwork had gone through. I offered to pay $500 out of my own pocket to cancel the paperwork. That didn't happen when i brought up my second car (02 honda crv/109k) they offered to look at it and shoot me an offer. They offered me $500 dollars, because it was old, and at best, could offer $1000. I declined the offer, and as I drove my new car off the lot, the gas light came on. They sold me a car with an empty tank of gas. The staff was friendly, but I will never bring my car or business back. Wish I had seen the reviews about them.
