Horrible and costly mistake purchasing a vehicle

Referred by local business owners as good used car lot because Jim ellis owned it after losing Suzuki dealership....so I went and found a suv there.. two hours away...battery dead on vehicle first visit...I get it...husband was BMW sales in our town and it happens....took forever to get a battery and multiple calls...there is a battery store accross the street...asked to do transaction in advance and give credit info over the phone to facilitate transaction...told me no problem iot would only take an hour....drove two hours to buy car after work...three hours later..............two dogs at home in trouble....took the vehicle.... called immediately the next morning and told salesman the two hour home was a nightmare and I quote "I do not want this...give me any suv on your lot...I do not want this" The salesman Tyler told me the vehicle had been on the lot for six months...so put Hi grade gas in it to resolve the problem.... I did. For over six months. The suv was absolutely impossible to drive....first, impossible to drive...terrible hesitation between 0 and 30 mph...I rode up and down79 for three weekends on and off ramps...to get on was a challenge... Then, in October driving to work on the Bayfront Pky the windows fogged up............NO DEFROSTER>>>looked online and there was a service bulletin on that exact issue................from years ago....meanwhile...many people I work with and see here in our community have this vehicle...I was surrounded by them and could not understand why I hated this vehicle so much and found it so dangerous for me to drive...going forward was awful with the hesitaiton..going backward was virtually impossible....contacted Tyler, then Tom the sales manager. with the problems..............to no avail. Found out the "shudder" or in Honda terms "studder" was a 'service bulletin released long before I bought the vehicle. It was NOT that the vehicle sat on the lot for six months. It was the torque converter..and it that was not the problem it was THE TRANSMISSION. SO, ON DAY ONE OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE, I CALLED TO RETURN IT.....I GOT FALSE INFORMATION. iT COST ME A FORTUNE TO GET THE REPAIRS DOWN EVEN WITH THE CRAP WARRANTY THEY FORCED ME TO BUY AND....TO GET OUT OF OWNING THE DANGEROUS SUV, IT COST ME ANOTHER $2000 TO GET OUT OF THE LOAN TO GET A DIFFERENT USED VEHICLE. i LOVE THE NEW OLD CAR...AT LEAST IT GOES WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS...i HAVE CONTANTED THE USED CAR LOT ABOUT ISSUES...WITH NO RESPONSE AT ALL i HAVE ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER MR JIM ELLIS.."HE IS NEVER IN....HE IS IN A MEETING...HE DOES NOT HAVE EMAIL ...HE IS NOT AVAILABLE.................................DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE..............RATINGS ARE ON ELLIS SUZUKI...A DEALERSHIP WITH A FABULOUS REPUTATION..................THIS IS A THIRD RATE USED CAR LOT................USED TO HAVE A HORRIBLE REPUTATION AND MR ELLIS APPARENTLY HAS BEEN UNABLE TO OVERCOME THAT AWFUL REPUTATION AND WAY OF DOING BUSINESS...SUGGEST HE DITCH THOSE WHO ARE WORKING THERE AND NOT DOING HIM ANY GOOD.

Great People to deal with Very easy no run around!

So tired of back and forth negotiating at dealerships this process is the way of the future!

Horrible

They had their customer parking spots all full with inventory, so there was no place to park. Then the car we wanted to test drive had a dead battery. New one was "on order" - there's an advanced across the street? Then they're trying to move cars around their cramped lot and some worker tried to get in MY car because there is no space in the lot? The salesman LIT A CIGARETTE while talking to us, and near my 5.5 month old? Absolutely will never go back.

Awesome No Pressure Car Buying Experience

I knew what vehicle I was looking for when I went to Ellis, I was greeted as soon as I entered the lot. Brian was very helpful and showed me all four of the Chrysler Town & Countries on the lot. Offered a no pressure test drive on the vehicle I had chosen. He answered all my questions and was very helpful. I arrived on the lot at about 10:30 am and was back on the road in my new vehicle by 1 pm. Everyone I had contact with there was very friendly and helpful... Even the financing paperwork was a breeze. The place was very clean and very well stocked with just a huge selection of very well priced late model used cars. They even threw in a nice maintenance package.

No Pressure--Great Support--Great Car--Great Price

Ellis first caught my attention because they had noticibly lower than average prices on low mileage late model used cars...which is what my wife and I were in the market for. That's recommendation number one. When we visited the lot, a sales guy, Tom, said hello. No pressure. No fast talk. No creepy feeling like we were dealing with a shark. Tom asked some questions, listened closely, and made several very good suggestions which I appreciated because it had been a while since I had bought a car. Tom had a good sense of humor too. Make Tom recommendation number two. After test-driving a few cars, then going home to give my wife and I a chance to talk things over, we decided that we had a pretty good opportunity available on one of the cars and we called back to say we wanted to buy it...but we'd still had to get our financing in order. Recommendation number three: the dealership beat out all other loan agreements we had lined up. Just outstanding support! (Thank you again, Craig--great job with all that awful paperwork!) Finally, when I realized that I had left a pair of sunglasses in our old car--the one we traded in--again, they were cool about it and got the old sunglasses back to me. You'll be hard-pressed to get a better car at a better price with better service, I'm telling you! Give 'em a chance! Thanks again Tom and Craig and whoever else had a hand in our support. You guys were great!

Great Place with Friendly, Responsive Staff

We just purchased a used vehicle from there and the experience was great. There were a couple of errors made in the buying process, but the staff dealt with the swiftly and appropriately. The car comes with some maintenance perks that are nice and I hope the service staff is as great as the sales staff!

Wonderful Experience!

Wonderful overall experience! The folks at Ellis were a pleasure to deal with. Being a single woman, they made me feel comfortable and not pressured. Parking was a bit limited due to the amount of cars on the lot but it was very clean. Will certainly recommend to friends and family.
