This has been such a disturbing experience. I have been looking to purchase a XC60 Volvo. My XC60 was totaled. When making my search I read all reviews about the dealers. I read such great reviews about Torch Light and Jeff and his wife. I found a car that Torch Light was offering. I called and had a wonderful conversation with Jeff. I explained to him my situation. I was waiting for check from insurance company. I asked if he could hold the car with a $1000.00 deposit on a $13999.00 car. He said yes this would not be a problem. July 7th 2023 I gave him the deposit. I encountered many difficulties with the insurance company. They are MJN located in New Jersey and hired an outside company to do appraisal on car that was in Pittsburgh Pa. This took an extended amount of time. Next they did not accept Electronic Titles this took time. None of this was Jeff’s problem and he was great thru all this. Now we are at 5 weeks. Jeff and I are in contact thru all this finally they are going to pay me. I called Jeff and told him insurance co was finally paying . I Told him I should have money no later than Monday Aug 14. Well payment came late on Monday. I tried to call Jeff several times and could get no answer. I left numerous messages. After a week I used a different phone to call Jeff and he finally answered. I asked what was going on. He said he waited long enough and had someone who had bought 4 cars from him who were interested in buying the car I had the deposit on. He said he was very busy and would call me back. I was distraught and he told me, I promise to call you this evening, I promise,promise you, I’ll call you. No call that evening nor the next day. Again no answers to my calls. Finally texted and he did respond to my text. He told me he would be away for 3-4 days and be back Monday afternoon. Monday came and No response again . I texted again and he tells me he was not feeling well and will call. He never called ! Thursday I reached him and he says to me what’s up, what’s up !!! I asked what is going on. He tells me the car was sold. Ok, so how are you returning my deposit. He said you are not getting that back it was forfeited due to me not buying the car. He told me we had spoke of this. This was never mentioned ! We never had a verbal or written agreement for a length of time for this sale to be completed. Nor that a consequence of a loss of my deposit. I thought I was dealing with a honorable man. Would anyone in there right mind give $1000.00 to someone that was not trustworthy. He is keeping my $1000.00. How in good conscience can he do this to me. Than actually say to me and my daughter I did not know if you were really going to buy the car. Why would I put down a $100000 deposit if I was not going to buy the car. How cruel and heartless. Let alone UNTRUSTWORTHY. Lynne Lamanna, Pittsburgh,Pa. Speechless Would I recommend Torch Light?
