Must Agree to Purchase before Test Drive

Interested in a 10 year old 2003 Lexus SC430 with just 11,000 for $29,900. Saw the car on a rainy day, use car salesman Bob told me the car had not been in the rain, come back on a dry day before the end of the month and give it a test drive, "we need to sell five cars, I will give you a great deal". My wife and I returned on a dry day, 30 Oct to test drive the vehicle. Bob told us the their bottom line was $28,900...which is over $6,000 over Kelly Blue book for vehicle with same millage. If that price does not work for you do not waste our time driving the vehicle. I thought he was joking. We took the car for a short 15 minute drive. Returned to give him the keys. He was busy with a customer. Use car salesman Bob calls me at home...are going to purchase the car? Sorry but we are too far apart on price. Bob tells me again do not waste our time test driving unless you plan on purchasing. Been purchasing cars for 50 years.....this ranks as the worse!

We always welcome the opportunity to try an earn a customers business, especially if they have been looking at and test driving our inventory for over ten years. As a courtesy Mr.Earl was contacted at home after his test drive. When he returned he had left the keys without talking to anyone.Prior to his test drive he was told we would not take his salavge titled corvette on trade.I explained that the Kelly blue book is a reference guide, the Lexus shows the same value with double the mileage. Also according to the book his prior salavge titled corvette has the same value as an accident free corvette.I am sorry if I offended him,and I thank him for his comments.I will try to learn from them. Please take a moment to read any or all reviews.Or better yet give used car salesman Bob a call. With best regards

Good purchase, smooth process, great car

Purchased 1996 911 after extensive search. Bob at Classic Auto Sales is a pleasure to do business with; arranged deal over the phone, finalized once I drove my trade in from out of state, and drove my 911 back home without incident. I have already recommended to a friend.

It is always rewarding to receive positive feedback from our customers, especially those that come to us from outside the Omaha area. Thanks! Bob & Terry

Great 911SC

Bob had the low mile car I wanted and the price was fair. They picked me up at the Omaha airport and sent me on my way to New Mexico in my first Porsche 911SC about 3 hours later. I am a happy customer and I'd recommend these guys. Thanks Bob!

Ron T Omaha,NE.

I bought a 2002 Mercedes SLK 320. I was very pleased with the condition of the car with 59K miles. Great people to deal with. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and worthy of your trust. Their show room is incredible. All the cars they acquire are in pristine condition. If they weren't a dealer, they could open a Classic Car Museum and charge admission. I will certainly buy from them again.

Excellent car, honest sales

Bought a low mileage, one owner, 2004 Miata from Classic Auto. It was everything Bob said it was. I'd buy another car from Classic Auto in a heart beat.

Great vehicles, great service, fun to deal with.

Our recent purchase is the second vehicle we have acquired through Classic Auto Sales. Both experiences have been informative and fun and we now drive two excellent vehicles. I check their on-line listings quite often to see what classics are available.

1989 944 Turbo S

I contacted the dealership about a month ago when I found the car listed on the internet. I called several times inquiring about the car, i.e.: condition, mileage, service records, etc. I spoke with Bob a number of times and he was very friendly and helpful. I am from Massachusetts, so buying a car from Nebraska made me very nervous. However I read the on-line reviews for the dealership and it made me feel a little bit better. But to be honest, I think bought the car more because of my dealings with Bob than anything. During our conversations Bob had the car sent out for all then needed maintenance (as he put it: timing belt, water pump, air and oil filters, seals, gaskets, air condenser, PS belt, Alternator belt, hoses, thermostat, etc.etc.etc) and got in touch with me when it was completed. I decided to make the purchase, sight unseen, and take the word of Bob and the dealership. Bob was quick to get all the necessary paperwork to me and arranged for transportation to MA. The car arrived a day earlier than expected, actually the car was supposed to arrive at 10pm, but the driver didn't arrive until 12:30am, yes in the middle of the night. Not the fault of the dealership. However I didn't get a good look at the car until the next day. When I went through the car everything was in better shape than I expected. Honestly, I feared the worst. However, I was immensely disappointed with a huge dent and numerous scratches on the underside of the drivers? doorway. I got in touch with Bob about it; he said he needed to talk to the owner of the dealership, who by luck was on vacation. I attempted to contact Bob two more times, but I have never heard back. During this time period, I ran into an issue getting the car through the RMV, due to a recent move. Bob was extremely helpful in getting things straightened out. He took time out of his day, went to his RMV and faxed over paper work I needed. Thank you Bob for that. I am neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. I guess I?m more disappointed that the dent/scratches were not pointed out to me in the beginning when I was inquiring about the car. I took the car to a body shop for a quote and I was told around $900. Also during the maintenance they did, they put on 2 new front tires, however the car wasn?t aligned and the steering wheel doesn?t point straight. So overall, I?m about 80% happy with my purchase, just wish it was 100%.

Unfair Sales

I would never do business with this dealership again. We bought a car from them last year. They refused to give us a copy of the inspection report for the car even though we asked for it multiple times. They represented that the car was in great condition. However, after we purchased the vehicle we found that it failed the auto emissions test in Colorado and we had to spend alot of money to bring it up to a point where it barely passed. And, the underbody of the vehicle is so rusted out that it will cost us additional money every time we have the vehicle serviced. After we called to complain and ask the dealership to contribute to the cost of fixing the vehicle, they refused to take our phone calls. Since we are out of state, it is very difficult to pursue a remedy against them for selling us a defective vehicle.

Dealer response

We always provide inspections and carfax history reports for all vehicles. In this case, this customer flew to Omaha and drove the car ten hours back to her hometown. We have not heard from this customer for almost a year about her purchase of a Toyota Forerunner Limited with 105,000 miles. We still have a copy of the inspection report as well as the receipts from the repairs and the new tires we purchased for her. Here at Classic Auto Sales, we strive for 100% customer satisfaction. We have been in business for 45 years with many happy customers. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thanks, Terry

Excellent Service, amiable, friendly personality

Thanks Bob. Bob did an excellent job in helping us in car buying process. This was the most pleasant and best car buying experience for me and my family. Honest Car Dealer, everything went as promised and demonstrated by the sales person. Provided all the relevant car information, I requested for. I very much appreciate the consideration and commitment to excellent customer service.

Another red car to enjoy.

Knowing Bob Evon for many many years, I check in quite often to see if there is anything that will cause me to part with my money. When I saw the Ferrari 308 I was so moved. Bob was patient with me while I wrestled with the idea for about three weeks. Now I am putting miles on it and enjoying the new toy. Not the first car I have bought from Bob and probably won't be the last. Bob and Terry are extremely knowledgeable on all types of classic cars and enjoyable to talk with. Their inventory at all times is like a candy store for grown ups. Something is wrong if you can't find a car of interest at Classic.
