The Live Oak location is one of the worst. We get told one thing then get there and are told something different. They do not do what they say they will do, and they schedule appointments then the car salesman is not there. He is conveniently off, a fact he did not state to us. We come from out of town and the car that we were assured by a person and their own system, was there, was in fact not. Then they offer us a $50 credit for gas, but I have to go and put the gas first to get reimbursed. We drove a combined 170 miles and wasted 3 hours of drive time to get there only to be told oh sorry you were misinformed. I called twice on the day we were told our car would be ready since no one there bothered to call us and were told oh sorry not today. Just disorganized, unfriendly, full of "my apologies" and xx.

Excellent experience
We bought a 2019Hyundai Elantra at this carmax. It was a very good experience. Staff was helpful but not pushy or aggressive. The fixed price was fair and made the process less stressful. The dealer charges were all reasonable with no ridiculous added charges. Overall an excellent experience.

Overpriced!
Almost bought a car only to find out from my bank it was NOT worth the price they started at. It was such a disappointment. Carmax said they’re not the bad guys because they are a “retail “ shop not a dealership?!? Overpriced is still overpriced.
