THE CAR WASN’T WORKING FOR THE SCHEDULED TEST DRIVE!!!!Based some of the “pleasant” reviews Bristol Auto mall has I decided to make an appointment. The day before BY PHONE I was upfront about my credit and trade in. I saw a car in their inventory that I was interested in so I provided all info needed. Credit check and current car vin, miles, etc. I told them I didn’t wish to put any money down and I didn’t want to waste their time or mine so asked them to run it to see what comes back by phone before making the trip. Had it been a no, I would’ve understood and just moved on. BUT I received a call before the end of that day from finance after running my credit and he said “I wanted to call you to congratulate you, you were approved at $0 down.” He then asked about the trade in and when I could go in so that they can value the trade in. I booked for the next day/this past weekend. Drove out and met with Alex who was a nice, but the car that I make the appointment for WAS NOT WORKING! It was shaking, check engine light on, and he said he wouldn’t even feel safe test driving it. They had a list of things wrong with it and said they could fix it in 2 days and asked if I wanted to look at the numbers to which I said no since I could not even test drive the car I made the appointment for. I said I could come back when it was fixed and they asked if I would be willing to put a deposit since they have many calls for this MB A220. They said they just got it and have 10 mechanics, but booking appointments for a non working car should’ve been enough of a sign to walk right off the lot. I work 2 jobs so I tried to be productive on my only day off and while I was very upset, I did entertain another vehicle as the manager came out to apologize and suggested an Audi on the lot. I test drove the Audi since I was already there and said it was fine to run the numbers along with the original car I went to see. I sat outside and waited as they had other customers in the office. Sat outside for what seemed like an hour later. Alex came out and said the Audi was not going to work due to my trade in value which was fine so I sat waiting on the original car assuming I could come back after the repairs were done and instead Alex walked out with the keys to a Porsche! The car I went to see originally was right under 18k, and the Porsche was right under 40k, with a 4,000 deposit and $700+ monthly payment!!!! The nicest thing to do at that point was walk away because why would you run the numbers for something I didn’t ask for or test drive?! My partner went in the ask them to follow up with a call. I called back a few hours later to speak to the manager to try to make sense of what happened. He said he would follow up, which he hasn’t and after having the time to think about it more….that was a horrible experience and I just would not feel confident doing business with them. I’ve never left a bad review in my life, not to say I haven’t had bad experiences before, but nothing like this.

Bristol Auto Mall is a joke and a waste of time. I called about the 2019 BMW 850 convertible that they were advertising for $37,999 recently and spoke to them and they said that the car was there and available. I informed them that I live in Maryland over 100 miles away from them and that I’m taking off of work to see this vehicle. They said that they would call me if it gets sold before I come so that I wouldn’t drive all the way there for nothing. This occurred on Tuesday June 2, 2026. I arrived there at 10:30 and I went to the dealership office and asked where the car was because I didn’t see it on the lot. Mind you this was a small trailer like office with at least ten people in there all looking at me like I had two heads. Finally one person says they have numerous lots and owner drove the car home but he would find out where it is so I can see it. After one guy walked out of the office and went to the garage thats connected to the office he spoke in a foreign language to someone that was working on cars in the garage. I waited patiently and then he said that they had to send the car back to the auction because it had problems. What a bunch of lies and deception. I told him I was xxxxxx that I toke off of work and drove 100+ miles to see this car only to get the run around and lied too. He then proceeded to tell me he has another BMW convertible 3 series thats nice….the old bait and switch. He knew that they didn’t have the vehicle and instead of being honest and telling me so that I didn’t waste my time, he thought that once I drove all the way there I would still buy something. On top of that they still have the vehicle listed for sale when they know that they told me on Tuesday that the gray 2019 BMW 850 convertible is no longer there. This is a hole in the wall dealership with over 33 Better Business Bureau complaints in the last 3 years…I should did more research and read the reviews because they have done this to other customers. I shouldn’t have fallen for the vehicle pics and the 200+ vehicle inventory claims, lesson learned.
