It COULD have been amazing--but it wasn't. The car...
It COULD have been amazing--but it wasn't. The car delivered was not the car described, and when I asked about it was told I certainly shouldn't pay for what I didn't get (sunroof, collision warning system, push button start, several others). Later I got email saying the car matched the vin, the description on line was a mistake, and it was still a good price (it wasn't). I returned the car, but can't help but wonder if this was intentional, and just they way they do business.

Hi Jennifer, My name is Rob head of our customer service team. I have done a deep dive into this situation and have found the source of the issue. I want to assure you it was just an unfortunate fluke in the decoding of what trim level the Golf was. It is an S, but features decoded were that of an SE. We've since relisted the Golf appropriately as an S. I certainly apologize as it is never our intention to misrepresent what the car is and any features it does/doesn't have. We will continue to work on ensuring the cars/features we list will be delivered as advertised. We've also done our best to include photos to act as a secondary source to ensure features are represented (i.e. if it has a sunroof there'll be a photo of it). We sincerely appreciate your feedback and will continue to learn and grow. We hope should a Golf (or another) car you're interested in hit our site you'd give us the opportunity to try again and make it right. Gettacar has been amazing. I was always afraid that online shopping for something so expensive was bound to be a bad experience but gettacar has changed my mind from total skeptic to having a lot of faith. The process was easier than at an in-person dealership and will totally buy my next car online! Hannah was an awesome Rep. I'm satisfied with my actual car but do not feel I would...
I'm satisfied with my actual car but do not feel I would not order from them again At the beginning, the process with gettacar was much easier than Carvana that I cancelled my order with or so I thought. My car was delivered to me in a timely manner (the very next week, which after a month delay through Carvana I was very impressed with). That said, there many things they were not forthright with. One being that Carvana does in house financing, Gettacar farmed my "loan application" out to several banks, all of which put hard inquiries on my credit. The gentleman I dealt with initially named Matt S. seemed professional/efficient at first but as time went on, was not forthright. My insurance requires a Carco photo inspection for collision which I asked if that had been done prior to delivery (because Carvana did this). He kept saying he would "find out for me" and never got back to me about it. I ended up calling my insurance directly to see if they had received one. They hadn't and I took care of it myself. First red flag of lack of communication with Matt and refusal to follow up. On 4/30 Matt S. had said we needed to re-sign (aka he messed up) the contracts, putting in gap coverage and extended warranty coverage that I had agreed to but the financer who approved my loan did not. He tried to frame this in a "positive" light of lowering my monthly payment rather than his lack of communication with the financer. This caused the contracts I initially signed to be invalid. He scheduled me to re-sign the contracts a Saturday without a specific time, which I am an independent contractor and my work is flexible but I waited around a half day to re-sign contracts only for the system to be down when we were finally on the phone. This was obviously not Matt's fault, but what followed was. I asked him via text if this would delay the registration (my exact words: Are they waiting on the new contracts to do the registration?). His exact response: "no the registration doesn't need the contracts, that's in process, the payment needs the contracts, I will check with titles to see the status of the registration, NY state takes a few weeks to process." We ended up doing the re-sign on 5/4. 6 weeks goes by and I don't have my plates. He had initially told me it took about 6 weeks for NY State. I contacted him via email on the exact day it was 6 weeks to inquire about the registration. He tells me that the registration paperwork sent out until 5/13. I had actually received the car on April 21st, so they waited a month to send the paperwork in. He stated he'd check with title clerk next morning (this was on June 2nd). Another week goes by, I don't have my plates, I hadn't heard from Matt, I check my dmv file online, it's not listed in my registrations. So I email Matt again. Hadn't heard from him all morning. Getting frustrated/annoyed so I call gettacar, left message. A woman named Terri texts saying Matt was off that day & basically just telling me since the paperwork was submitted May 13th it takes NY about 6-8 weeks to process. At this point I'm very heated because they knew my temp reg (which while the temp plate was in the actual car, the paper copy and temp window "sticker" was an UNSIGNED email file) was set to expire supposedly 6/21 (even though the temp cardboard plate actually said 6/19). I'll give Terri that she did her best to assist me despite being thrown into the situation willy nilly and me being extremely upset and frustrated at this point. She escalated it to a supervisor named Anthony. Anthony calls at 5:30pm that day which I appreciated because he was supposed to leave at 5p and explains that they don't send the registration paperwork in until the contracts are finalized. I don't know why Matt or Terri could not tell me that, but there you go. I asked about an extension or a new temp plate which they could not because of NYS laws. I just got my perm plates/sticker today 6/18 finally but still no leined title. Overall I love my car but the process was ridiculous and I don't believe I'd do it again.

Thank you for your response Rob, and for reaching out. I do appreciate it. I'm sorry I missed your call. There was one thing in your voicemail I also wanted to address. The registration department did not overnight the plates/reg sticker to me as you, Anthony, and others have stated. They did send it Priority Mail and yes, it did get here in time. But it took 2 days from when they sent it to get here. That is not a big deal in hindsight because again, yes, it did barely get here in time. However, this is yet another thing that is a diversion from what representatives of the company are told/are telling customers to what is actually happening. I still have USPS proof of how they were sent if anyone needs to see it. I appreciate your follow up on the Leined Title and again for your help and for looking into this. Thank you.
