Mike helped with a purchase of a used CRV.

Mike helped with a purchase of a used CRV. Was straight forward. No oversell. We went through all the documents on previous items fixed or repaired. Since purchase we had a few things that we didn’t notice prior to purchase that were quickly fixed on their dime without hesitation. I have purchased 2-3 cars here over the years and am never disappointed. Service department is also excellent and efficient.

If you get a good car it seems things might be okay but

If you get a good car it seems things might be okay but beware they do sell and cause problems and not back it. They left the drain plug loose on a new to us purchase straight from their lot. Oil light came on while driving home. After multiple visits with an (incompetent) service advisor, Shannon, who now appears to be there service manager they didn’t do much anything but add an engine additive and oil. I escalated to a Dan Schwartz who is still working there but did not return my recent call. In our prior interactions he acknowledged the issue and stated we can help by taking the car back if it comes to it. They wrote and I have a letter stating they documented the instance should further issues come up. See pics in google review. Well here we are today, this car has been burning oil since they sold it and now has a burned valve. Through conversation with multiple reputable shops in the area, I was told this can be due to the oil consumption creating deposits on the valve over time from blow by in the piston due to internal damage resulting in a bad seat and ultimately burning the valve. Since this occurred, they have changed their tone and now refuse any help or accountability. They have offered zero assistance with a 10k repair bill, trade in toward another vehicle, nothing at all except point fingers at anyone but themselves. They wouldn’t even look at the car for repair/service. Lastly, as expected their warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. I have recorded conversation with their administrator stating wear and tear items, although listed as covered are not. They use other sections of their service agreement to loophole and exclude them. Avoid this place.

Atrocious service

I have purchase a 2020 Honda Insight from this dealership in the fall of 2019. Since the purchase, I have this dealership only for all the recommended preventive maintenance. The problems started with my 35000 mile check. I brought the car for a scheduled appointment for the service that should have taken 1.5 hours. When I called back 4 hours later to check on it's status, the car was still not in the bay. I took 6 hours to get my car back. This morning I brought my can in at 9:30 AM appointment, and was told that the service should take around 4 hours. I called to check the status at 5:45 PM and was told that they just put the car in the bay, which means that tomorrow I am without a vehicle.

I would seek out a different dealer.

I bought a Honda Ridgeline RTL in July 2021 from Honda of Frontenac. I put a large deposit down and financed the rest through Honda Finance. I asked the finance manager several times regarding any need I would have to go to the Illinois DMV for anything whatsoever He assured me that everything would was being taken care of at the dealership that day. The salesperson even put my old plates on my new truck. But.... they never had my plates transferred and they apparently did not add the taxes into the financing. Imagine my amazement when I went to the DMV in March 2022 and found out that my plates were still registered to my old truck and I owed 3 grand for taxes, title, and registration. I had called Honda of Frontenac a month prior and asked some questions due to receiving my tag renewal that had my old truck information. However, I got passed around without receiving any answers. I should be refunded the doc fee at the very least. When I bought the truck, they were not willing to make any deals. The sales manager said I would have free oil changes for life. However, when I called several months later I was told by two different people at Honda of Frontenac that I must have heard wrong. I would like the documentation fee refunded and for them to throw in some freebies for my truck. Heaven forbid I got pulled over during that time while I was driving around with tags that were not registered to me and a truck for which my name was not linked to in the IL DMV's system. I also had to buy new plates due to their error.

I would seek out a different dealer.

Best Place to Buy a Honda

I did not buy a car, but my daughter and husband purchased a 19 Pilot. I had talked to Wendy for them about Pilots they had in stock. They traveled 150 miles to make this purchase, and I am sure they would do it again. Wendy was very helpful and caring during this process.
