My wife and I were looking for a car for her 50th birthday, and we had a budget in mind. The 2015 Volkswagen EOS looked great on pictures. The initial... interaction with Keven was very good. We live in Austin, and Keven did a great job to help with making the vehicle available for us while we made our way to Houston on one Saturday. We test drove the car around the local streets, and chose not to take it out on highway because it was an unfamiliar area. We proceeded with the purchase. Off the bat, it was strange because we ended up paying out of pocket for the car detail at a place across the street from the dealership. It's Covid-19 time, so we didn't think too much of it after that. However, the fact that car needed detailing and we paid out of pocket for it stand. We headed back to Austin, and it was immediately clear that there is something going on with either wheels or balance because the car vibrate very noticeably at highway speeds. Immediately called the sales person, and we hypothesized that there could be an issue with wheel balance. Why wouldn't the wheels be balanced before putting the car for sale? I took the car to Discount Tire and National Tire and Battery, and the ending diagnosis is that "4X tires look to be out of round, and wheels are slightly bent as well. Center caps were taped in upon arrival, removed to make sure they dont fall out on the road" At the same time, the coolant indicator starts flashing. There is an obvious coolant leak. This morning, the EPC light came on. All this in about a month, with minimal driving of the car. I emailed and called, and CJ from service try to help by offering wheels and tires at cost to the service, and no mention of compensating me in any way. Getting in touch with Amin, the manager/owner is extremely hard. It took me several emails to even get a response and no luck at all talking on the phone, The dealership is offering to inspect the vehicle and make repairs assuming that there is no wear. If the car had been priced to reflect that it has these issues, I would not have had any issues counting on spending more money. But paying little less than $15,500 for a externally good looking EOS. with 110,000 miles, I just assumed that it's in respectable mechanical shape. Clearly that's not the case. I will never consider Houston Direct Auto for a car purchase.
