BUYER BEWARE! Vehicle was not as described

Let me start by saying I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but felt compelled to forewarn other consumers about an especially horrific experience they can hopefully avoid. With that said, BUYER BEWARE! DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER USED CAR DEALER! My experience with this dealer was horrendous, and cost me significant expense, time, and aggravation. The facts related to my experience are as follows: 1. The photos and description of the vehicle, a Dodge RAM 5500 truck, VIN 3D6WD76A48G175442, on the New Hope Auto Sales website was not complete or transparent nor did it disclose any of the issues found during a basic inspection. In addition, the salesperson did not answer numerous questions truthfully about the condition of the vehicle related to rust, mechanical, or operating condition. 2. The subject vehicle on the New Hope Auto Sales website was portrayed as being owned by the dealer when in fact it was actually a consignment from a private owner. 3. When questioned, the owner of the truck lied and completely misrepresented the condition of the truck. He stated the vehicle had no rust when in fact the body, frame, and bumper had major through rust that was painted over. When further questioned, he stated everything worked and he would make no apologies for the truck when in fact numerous operational and mechanical issues existed potentially costing thousands of dollars to repair. 4. A simple inspection of the truck uncovered several safety issues including an air bag warning light, rusted through and crumbling frame, body, and tow/bumper components, outriggers which did not extend, and crane components with disconnected wires. 5. After meeting the owner in person, he claimed the price of the vehicle was actually $25,000, not the $22,995 listed on the New Hope Auto Sales website. He also changed his story about the body paint, previously stating over the phone the former owner completed this work, when in fact he did to hide/cover all the body rust. Lastly, I want to be completely transparent in that I did not purchase this truck. Sadly, I still lost several thousand dollars in a flight, rental car, fuel, tolls, and my time traveling several hundred miles to New Hope, Pennsylvania. All that said, BUYER BEWARE, especially if you are not an experienced mechanic or knowledgeable about vehicle inspection. Wishing you the best in your search for a quality used vehicle!

Very happy with our Ford Focus purchase

Small dealership with a lot of character and some nice vehicles for sale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ended up buying a Ford Focus for a good price. I'm very happy with my purchase and I would go to New Hope Auto Sales for my next vehicle purchase.

You've gotta know what you're looking for

Using online auto sales sites, I stumbled upon a very high mileage 2003 Honda Element at NHAS in incredible condition at a price I couldn't pass up. According to the CarFax, it appeared the original owner was meticulous with service and maintenance. The Element was everything as advertised. Now if you visit NHAS to shop without knowing what you're looking for, don't expect to find every vehicle on their lot in perfect condition. As a shopper, you've got to do your homework. I mention this because many of the negative reviews for NHAS aren't valid. The folks at NHAS are great to deal with, pleasant and professional with no high pressure. They have a wide variety of vehicles, a lot of them higher mileage, from basic stuff to exotics. If NHAS has the make and model vehicle you're looking for, check them out. But don't forget to do your homework.

Friendly and professional. Great experience.

Salesperson fully engaged in providing me with outstanding service. Nice selection of automobiles which look as good or better than the photos.

Extra Effort to Win My Business

I purchased my 1991 Mazda Miata from New Hope Auto. The Owner and his staff were knowledgeable and ernest and did not try to hype the car I was interested in. When I asked them a question about the car and they did not know the answer, they said so. The Owner volunteered to meet with me after hours to facilitate the deal and accommodate my travel plans.

Great service. Great pricing. No pressure.

Simply a great group of guys to work with in buying a used car. Sales person Cameron cannot do enough for each customer, mechanic Jeff definitely knows the mechanics and history of each car and the owner Mark takes well deserved pride in having so many repeat customers. Bought a 2006 Acura MDX for my son and he loves the car more and more each day as he gets familiar with all of the features. If you're looking for an excellent, no pressure sales experience with a nice selection of used cars at great prices, this is your dealership.
