This was honestly the best sales experience I have had in
This was honestly the best sales experience I have had in many years. Mike answered every question we had and made us feel confident in the car we were looking at. The sale itself was fast and efficient and we completed the deal withing minutes. I would definitely recommend Mike and 1st choice if anyone is looking for a vehicle. We will look to them next time we need a vehicle. Thank-you Mike.

Not worth the headaches
"Friendly" people at dealership, but thats pretty much where the good ends. Bait and switch type of sales. Signs inside the office state explicitly "NO GUARANTEE FOR MD AND DC INSPECTIONS" despite it being stated in every one of their online sales. Salesman pulled up a screen quickly that stated they bought the car I was looking at for $8.5k then tried to tell me that they were making just 500$ off the sale. Car would absolutely not pass MD inspection with mechanical issues and windows not working properly. Salesman said they could do 100$ off and not "guarantee" the car would pass inspection or pay the full $12,990 price. So buyers beware, this is the exact type of used car salesman you've been warned about.

Very friendly and accommodating
I bought my first car from here and I am loving it. The customer service was excellent. It is a small local dealership and everyone is very friendly. Thanks so much. Monia

Trustworthy-Great Selection-Great Prices
We searched all over Northern Virginia for a reliable used car for our college aged daughter. From the scary fly-by-night warehouse dealers in Chantilly to a dealer in Alexandria selling a car that had obviously been in an accident as a 0 accident vehicle. Eddie and the team at 1st Choice Auto were a breath of fresh air. It's a small team, not competing with each other, with a solid lot of inventory, and a focus on helping their customers find a vehicle. They engaged us in dialogue to understand what we were looking for, recommended a couple vehicles on the lot, then took us out to see their entire inventory. We found a great Toyota Rav-4 with some bumper damage. Eddie got the rear left bumper fixed and painted! Price was fair and process was well oiled. I will come here first to purchase my next used vehicle.

Recommended, with caveats.
I purchased a Honda from this dealership in October. Based on my experience with 1st Choice Auto, I'd rate their communication 5/5 and the condition of the vehicle that I purchased from them 3.5/5, for a total of 4/5 stars. The pros: they answer calls promptly and courteously. They work with out-of-state buyers (i.e., I was permitted to send a mobile mechanic to check out the vehicle for a pre-purchase inspection, and I was allowed to put down a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve the vehicle). They provided an itemized list and total of all costs over the phone and by email, and offered to handle the DMV/MVA paperwork for me. The mechanic noted that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and the dealership took care of that for me at my request. The cons: their listings claim that, "All safety recalls performed prior to vehicle pickup." That was not, in fact, the case with my vehicle. I arrived at the dealership more than three business days after placing my deposit. They offered to take it to a Honda dealership for me to get the recall resolved, but it was too late and inconvenient at that stage to do so (an acquaintance drove me a bit under 2 hours to reach the dealership as I did not have my own car, and I didn't want to impose on them any further by returning at a later date). Furthermore, while the car did pass both Virginia's state inspection and my home state's inspection, I ended up paying an additional $600+ for repairs. My advice is to mentally tack on an additional 10% to 15% to the total purchase price to land at a realistic amount you'll end up paying, and don't expect the vehicle to be 100% as you drive off the lot with it. If you find yourself considering a vehicle at the upper end of your budget, be sure to inspect the vehicle first and revise your offer accordingly.
