Proctor Subaru Abysmal , dismissive Treatment

My service experience with Proctor Subaru Service has been awful I have experienced the same issue with my 2019 BRZ for the past three. I received a recall in 2021 for the fuel pump. When I returned the vehicle because of gas fumes, I was told I did not know how to use the gas cap. However, it was acknowledged that little was known about the BRZ model. The third time (June 2022) I complained of smelling gas, it was admitted that the BRZ gas caps were defective. Yet, I was charged for a defective gas cap. The service was dismissive, condescending and simply disingenuous. I complained about being charged for a defective part and was presented an unofficial, handwritten note-no date or signature(which appeared to be torn out of a notebook) to receive a service call at no charge. I love my BRZ, but my service treatment was abysmal. What a nightmare!

Nice facade, rotten to the core

In March 2022, Proctor Subaru, Tallahassee, did $1,226.22 of work on my car without authorization and that work included replacing a healthy battery, doing work I expressly told them not to do, and grossly overcharging me for things both big and small, often charging twice as much as other vendors within 5 miles.. I filed a negative review about my Proctor experience on the DealerRater website. Proctor Subaru responded as follows: "Mrs. Flagg, your service consultant, Billy Swindell, and our Service Director, Don Monda, have both tried several times to reach you. They have left several messages." That is a blatant, juvenile lie. My phone records clearly show that the only phone calls I received from Proctor were five rings with hang ups anid one message left by Swindell. I filed a similar complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Proctor began their response to BBB with another easily disproved falsehood: "...be advised we have mailed this response certified mail dated 3.17.2022." I have received no mail from Proctor, certified or otherwise, except a computer generated survey form. When I challenged Proctor's lies, they responded by doubling down on their specious deceptions. On 4/4/22, Proctor wrote "We have been trying to call and email Mrs. Flagg to help her and she will not answer or respond." I'm sorry, but that is pure hogwash!!! My phone records easily, and completely, disprove the "trying to call" part. The only email I have received from Proctor is a computer-generated survey form so there can be no record of these non-existent emails Proctor has invented. On April 12, Proctor closed out the BBB file using the oldest, most pathetic attempt at deceit in the book: "This check has been mailed." The check is in the mail? Really? Gee, I was afraid maybe the dog ate it. Proctor didn't even try to actually communicate; they just threw out garbage hoping to gaslight and distract. Every single piece of correspondence from Proctor featured at least one egregious, stupefyingly flagrant lie. Every single piece, including the original invoice they gave me at the time of the service. In my opinion, any organization that can lie that often and easily is corrupt and dishonest. Proctor has had 100 years to create a facade of customer service, but it is a sham and a hoax, based on lies. The Proctor Dealerships (Honda, Acura, and Subaru) is a small family-owned business with a small management staff. Because the company is a multi-million-dollar operation and has been in business and run by the same family for more than 100 years, I think it is reasonable to assume that the Proctors know exactly what they are doing and exactly what their employees are doing. My goal is to provide the Proctor Dealership with the opportunity to stand behind and defend the statements they made. When they can't ( and they can't) then everyone will know what a sleazy, low-rent and disgustingly arrogant organization they run. I have filed multiple complaints with state agencies that will be asking questions. My ultimate step will be to file suit in small claims court where Proctor can explain why they have no proofs. Proctor wrote lies they knew not to be true and that were derogatory to me, then they published those lies in a public forum. That is a textbook definition of libel and I am researching what legal recourses I have to make Proctor retract those harmful statements.

ZERO STARS

Extremely unprofessional. In process of purchasing a vehicle we were given the run around. While cleaning out our current vehicle for trade we were notified that the vehicle that we were in negotiation for was sold from under us. The sales manager pulled out words to cover them legally instead of working with us. The reason given was that because we wanted to discuss an exteded warranty the vehicle sale was not finalized. Mind you we currently own 4 vehicles from Proctor and have purchased past vehicles from Proctor. This experience has been extremely unprofessional and disheartening. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING FROM CURRENT SALES UNPROFESSIONALS.

Crooks

These people are total crooks. I told them when I brought in my car that although my service lights were on, I didn't need a diagnostic. I told them that once they did a tune up, the lights would go off. They insisted that they had to do a diagnostic anyway. I asked them to apply the cost of the diagnostic to the cost of the tune up and they said they would. They did the diagnostic and told me that it would cost me many hundreds of dollars to replace sensors to make the service lights go off. I told them I didn't want them to replace any sensors. Lo and behold, when I picked up my car after it got the tune up, the service lights had gone off just like I said they would. However, the diagnostic was on the bill and they wouldn't take it off. CROOKS.

Satisfied Customer

Yesterday I had to take my car in when a light came on indicating that something needed to be checked. Even without an appointment the serrvice department got my car checked, and repaired quickly. I couldn?t have been more pleased with the service I received.

Too Notch Dealership

The staff goes out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with their service. They explain what maintenance is required and try to get you in and out as soon as possible.

WONDERFUL Comstomer Service and Car Care

I am a proud owner of a 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport which has traveled... and safely transported me all over the country, north to south and coast to coast. I found out that my car battery had died while I was out of town for the summer and wasn't able to return to Tallahassee promptly to handle the issue. Proctor Subaru Tallahassee Service Department made this difficult situation very easy and were wonderful at helping to solve my issue and service my car. The entire staff in the Service Department were great communicators, efficient workers, and very pleasant over the phone giving me the one on one time and attention I needed to ask all of my questions. Thank you Proctor Subaru Tallahassee for such wonderful service and having kind employees! I trust only you when it comes to my Subaru's maintenance and service needs!
