I am livid. Today I was almost involved in a serious car accident because of the shoddy work done by their service department. Here is my entire ordeal.... Months ago, I went through the warranty process to get a new engine after my car started burning too much oil. It took nearly 6 months, but finally they signed off. I took my car in and it sat on their lot for over a month while waiting in line to get repaired. I was okay with that because they provided me with a loaner car (I was slightly inconvenienced because they switched out the car four times during my wait claiming that they sold all the cars I was driving). FINALLY, today they called me to tell me my car was ready. I rushed over because they said they needed my current loaner back (probably another lie) and asked if I could get there today. I obliged and brought it back. The service provider drove my car up and left it running for me to get in. I get in and immediately see an issue. Despite being in the shop for repairs for close to a month I get in to discover the ABS, traction light, auto hold, and warning lights were all on. The service person acted as if nothing was there. So I went back to the desk and asked him to personally look at it. If there were lights on my car not related to my engine somebody should have called me and asked if I wanted a diagnostic or repair. Furthermore, I didn't bring my car to you like this. Instead they called me and said my car was completely repaired and ready to go. I dropped everything and drove a half hour to get there TODAY because they needed their loaner back TODAY because they sold it to a fictional customer. After looking at it the advisor (not the mechanic, the advisor) says it's just a wheel sensor issue, nothing to worry about. It's something they see often, but it's like $500 to repair. I'm blown away that my car sat there for a month and not one person called me or asked me if I'd like to get this fixed. When I come in for oil changes they always give me a list of things they want to repair and then give me an option to decline or move forward. But this time they didn't even bother. I'm livid that everyone on that lot thought it was perfectly normal to send a customer home with a dash that was lit up like a Christmas tree with warning lights. Seeing as though I didn't have $500 on the spot I asked if the car was safe and if I would be able to bring it back on my next payday. He said SURE, it's just a sensor (mind you they never did a diagnostic to make sure that was the issue for sure). I have no idea if it really is a wheel sensor. They made an assumption. This could be much more serious than a wheel sensor. WHO KNOWS, THEY CLEARLY DIDN'T CHECK. However, I'm not a mechanic, so I took the advisor's word for it and took my car home because they said my new engine was installed and good to go. I get close to home and trouble hits. My car lost TOTAL POWER as I'm making a turn. I nearly got in a serious accident because without power your wheel gets extremely stiff. It took all the strength in my body to steer the wheel enough to avoid an oncoming car. I went into my house as soon as I got home and xxxxxx cried. To have another car xxxx near run you over because you can't control your car is the most helpless feeling you will ever go through. With help from others I was able to get the car home. My dad who is a mechanic, popped the hood and here comes the list of issues he immediately noticed: 1. My hood is broken. It has a hydraulic arm that stays open when you open the hood. The arm no longer stays open so I had to hold the hood while my dad checked everything. They clearly broke it during the repair process because it worked perfectly before I took my car there. 2. He then checks my battery since I had ZERO POWER. I couldn't even unlock my door, I had to take the key out of the fob and manually unlock it. When he put his volt machine on the battery it was at full power. Clearly there was no issue with the bat
Hi Amber, We are sorry to hear about your experience with our Service Department. We would like to discuss this further with you. Please contact us a...t your earliest convenience. We look forward to hearing from you. Best, Customer Relations Manager
I'm very upset at this dealer. After finding a Civic online, my son was excited about checking it out. He asked me to come with him, so I told him I... would. I live in New Orleans, so before I drove 1.5 hrs to see the car with him I asked him to call and make sure the car was there. He did and they told him it was. But, when we got there an hour and a half later the salesperson said they didn't have it and asked if we'd like to see anything else. A manager confirmed the car wasn't there and then got offended at me when I told him what I thought of them doing a bait and switch on me. He tried to blame the "mistake" on another department and then on my son for calling the internet sales department instead of the used sales department. My so later called the internet department and talked to the woman he had called earlier. She told him that she had just made a mistake and not entered the car as sold onto the website. So, the reality is either that the dealership is incredibly incompetent or that they are deceptive. I'm not sure which is worse. But, I highly doubt that a car that was on the lot for the last six weeks according to the CarFax was sold suddenly the day before we decided to look at it. These are the type of salespeople that give car salesmen the reputation for lying and deception they have. DON'T TRUST THEM!!!! If they'll do this to someone wanting to buy a used 5year old Civic, for crying out loud, what will they do to sell a $30,000 car?

We went to look for a car but were not really in need of one. However when we test drove a couple of cars at All Star Hyundai, the Sonata and the Elantra... we liked the cars. We negotiated with the manager, switched from 2014 to 2015 and also changed our minds about the color several times. He was very patient and worked with us to give us a good deal. We were happy with the final outcome. We made a couple of trips on the same day as we had to think about it. We traded our old car and we got a fair price for it.
Dee, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We work hard to ensure we are providing a great experience for our customers and we ...are elated to see that you are happy with your purchase. We look forward to seeing you again soon and welcome to our All Star family!
Wow! Will definitely be back to buy my next car from Mr. Dilorenzo and will be recommending him to my friends and family as well. I had no appointment... and just showed up on a busy Saturday morning. I was greeted outside by a very friendly associate. Let me emphasize here that he was not in the least bit pushy like your stereotypical car salesman. Joey was very knowledgeable about every single model I asked about (and let me also say I walked in having no clue what I wanted), and took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I knew what all my options were. I got personal care and attention to my specific vehicle needs, along with great recommendations. I was treated honestly and fairly, with no pressure whatsoever. I was honestly dreading the entire process, but was amazed at the level of service and professionalism shown by Joey, but even more impressed with the great deal he got me on my brand new car!
Seneca, thank you for the positive feedback! We are delighted to know that you had a 5-star car buying experience with us and with the help of Joey wh...o provided great customer service. We are also glad to know that you got a good deal with us and we hope that you will continue to choose us in the future. Enjoy your car!
I made an appointment and went to the dealership to have a test drive last Saturday, but I couldn’t get a service after waiting for almost an hour. I don’t... know the exact reason why, but I clearly noticed that I was not given any priority based neither on the “appointment” nor the first-come-first-serve basis. I just assume that it’s because I gave a FREE $50 gift card promotion coupon to a salesperson. I currently have a 2008 Honda Odyssey that I am planning to replace within a year. Initially, I was considering BMW X5 or Infinity QX80, but then recently heard that Hyundai has an all-new large SUV with all the bells and whistles that those luxury brands have to offer. And when I happened to see the promotion on Facebook from Hyundai Motor America, I naively thought that it’s a good deal at a good time to have a test drive on a highly buzzed new SUV and receive a gift card. Now, I regret my earlier decision. I came in around 4:40 pm. As I got into the dealership, a guy greeted me, so I told him that I have an appointment at 5:00 pm to have a test drive on a Palisade. Then, I gave him a promotion coupon, which I registered with the Hyundai Motor America. With a glimpse of the coupon, the guy told me that they are a little short-handed, but he will grab a salesperson to assist my scheduled test drive. I started to look around cars, and about five minutes later, a second approached me and asked if I was served by anybody. I told him that the first guy would find me a salesperson. soon. So, he walked away. Then, I waited 20 minutes until 5:05 pm. and came to the first guy and asked if he was still looking for somebody to help me, and he replied with a little surprise, “have you not been served yet?” Then, he looked around and pointed a third guy who was with a customer and told me that he will take care of me after that customer. I waited for another 20 minutes. While I was waiting, I noticed that the third guy came back to his desk doing something and I hoped he would soon come to help me. Around 5:25 pm, the second guy happened to find me and asked again if I was served by anybody. I told him that I had an appointment scheduled at 5:00 pm for a test drive and was waiting for a guy to let me have a test drive. I also told him that I gave the promotion coupon to the first guy. He told me that he was free at the moment, so he can talk to the front office guys and bring a key for the test drive. I waited for another 8 to 10 minutes and determined that I had to leave for a dinner appointment. On the way out, I saw the third guy still sitting in his desk doing something of his own and ran across the second guy going somewhere with other customers. I told the first guy that I had to leave and asked him to return the coupon back to me. He went to the third guy, found my coupon on his desk buried under so many other papers, and brought that back to me. That last few minutes at the dealership, I bitterly realized that I should have not responded to the promotional offer from HMA. If I knew that the salespeople treat the customers such a way for whatever reasons, I would have never wasted my time there on that peaceful Saturday evening. In fact, knowing that my hourly rate is much higher than the $50 offer from HMA and I ruined my peaceful and good mood of that Saturday night, the time is not the only thing I wasted at All Star Hyundai of Baton Rouge on that first-ever visit. And I am pretty sure that was the last-ever visit to the dealership. I strongly believe that HMA should also be aware that this kind of promotion is an absolute waste of money. And I have no doubt that they wouldn’t do this if they realized that many potential car buyers would feel sorry going after the FREE $50 Gift card and treated like a homeless person waiting for attention from those “busy” salespeople in their associated dealerships.

Bought a 2018 Hyundai Elantra with 32000 miles. Brought tires to attention at time of purchase, and was told to bring to the attention of amservice manager... when returning for first oil change. Service.manager told me I was concerned over nothing, the tires were fine. 2 weeks later, sidewall of passenger front blows due to excessive dry rot.. spent $124 to replace at Ross tire in Central. Took receipt to used car manager, result was my bad luck. A week later, driver side rear tire blows sidewall, also dry rotted. Another $124 and All Star cant care less. Going.on road trip to Oklaho.e end of July, and no way I'm risking.on these crap tires, so.guess I'm spending another 250 before I go. Sales bring.peopme in, and service is supposed to keep.you coming back. Not me. I knew these tires were unsafe and stupidly took delivery with the assumption service would make it.right. Mind you this is a.1.ye5sr old car, and tires should not be rotted to.point.of blowing out. All Star is never going g to see.me or this car again. Surely selling someone .car that is unsafe is against some.rule somewhere but these people could care.less. never again.
Bob, We regret to learn you felt disappointed in regards to any inconveniences related to the tires of your Hyundai Elantra. Your concerns are impor...tant to us and we would like to review them in detail. At your earliest convenience, will you please reach out to us directly? We look forward to connecting with you. If you want good service from management down, do not buy a vehicle from here. This was the worst experience I ever had purchasing a new vehicle. Too... many reasons to explain how bad this place is.... The manager is horrible, after I bought my vehicle and had a blown engine 3 weeks later, no one cared and no one would return my calls. This was a horrible place I chose to spend my hard earned money. If you are fine with signing papers then, everyone turning their back on you after, then this is the place for you. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN. I hope I can help someone from having the trouble I had!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
I am truly sorry you feel this way, and sorry you had engine failure too. Please call or text me at your earliest convenience. Thank you! Ed Doyle ...General Manager Cell: (225) 268-4247
Purchased used car w/ applied dealer warranty. Had to spent more than $1k before my 1st note. They were suppose to reimburse me, but has failed to do... so. 100 plus inspection is a joke. They put me & my son at risk in an unsafe vehicle. I trusted their shop but 2nd opinions showed otherwise. CHECK before you sign, their cooperation is over afterwards.
Hello, I am sorry to learn of any service that may have led to your distrust and would like the opportunity to speak with you about the matter. Would... you please reach out to me at your earliest convenience? Sincerely, Reputation Manager Reviews@allstarautomotive.com (225) 930-4147
All Star Hyundai of Baton Rouge is a top notch dealership. I had a great experience with the purchase of a 2018 Hyundai Ionic Limited hybrid. I first went... to the website and inquired about the Ionic via a link. I was contacted promptly by email. I first contacted the sales manager Thomas Wyant Jr about the price and he quoted me a fair market price for the vehicle. I then spoke to him over the phone and he was very friendly and helpful. He then put me in contact with Larry Sykes, the salesman. Larry was also very friendly and helpful with my purchase. I give 5 stars to the dealership and to Thomas and Larry.
Thanks for the amazing review, David! We will be sure to thank Thomas and Larry for giving you such top-notch service. Let us know if there is anythin...g else we can help you with. Congrats on the purchase of your new vehicle and we look forward to your next visit!
