Bamboozled and Ignored

McKenna BMW is where trusting customers go to get bamboozled and then ignored. I bought a CPO BMW 530e last year and paint has started peeling off my front bumper. My local BMW dealer said the car had received a "crappy paint job" with the parking sensors painted over - with an estimate for $2,100 to properly repair. I graciously sent emails to the GM(Ali), then the owner (Danny McKenna) then four calls to Kevin O and another three to Duke. I've had a loaner car for 3 weeks from my local dealer trying to get this sorted out, and spent a lot of time trying to engage with this organization, and nothing happens. Shame on you McKenna BMW and your total, prolonged indifference to a once-satisfied customer.

On November 10, 2021 I bought my wife her first BMW , we decided to buy a pre own certified used BMW . We purchased a used X5 Hybrid SUV . Our car had about 44000 mile and the good thing its still has Manufacturers Warranty, because after we had for 3 months the Air suspension in the reared drop as my wife was driving on the Freeway back from work. My wife said she was almost in a accident when she that happened, but she was able to control it and get off the freeway. McKenna repaired . About 2 week later it happened again. The dealership kept it for 2 weeks and got there to technician and told us they repaired it . Well it happened again and this time i was driving and the car drop again.. now this is the 3 rd time . Well we had about enough of this X5 .. lets see what the next excuse will be from these technician..

Racially profiled by Terry Herrera sales mgr

This business is in my opinion is not a Hispanic consumer friendly business. To say that I was racially profiled by the sales manager Terry Herrera is putting it lightly and trying to be polite because I know this is a public site. But I feel that other consumers need to know that, before visiting this establishment. I am Very disappointed with my recent experience here at this dealership. I'd leased a BMW here a few years back and the customer service in my opinion was the best at that time. Well I must say that a lot sure has changed for the worse since then. I went in this past weekend and found an X5 that I planned on purchasing but after dealing with the sales Manager Terry Herrera and the shockingly horrible customer service she gave me yesterday I don't believe I'll ever be returning to this dealership for a vehicle. After working out all the financial details throughout the day with her I was given an appointment by Terry to be at the dealership at 6:30. I arrived at the dealer on time and was told to have a seat and they were gonna be right with me. I waited an hour past my appointment time and I decided to ask how much longer it was going to be and Terry said that there were people placed in front of me for financing who didn't have appointments. (People I was told had literally walked in right before me and just happen to be Caucasian) Terry made a point of saying "well haven't you ever bought a car before? " Like that was supposed to help me understand why she placed people ahead of me with no appointment and then expect me to wait 4-5 hours to be seen. This was a very disappointing experience when all I was there for was to complete the financing paper work and give my down payment. All the details had already been worked out. Her customer service was beyond horrible. So as I walked out the building to leave I looked back and Terry was talking to one of the customer that she placed ahead of me and was laughing and appeared to me mocking me. It Feels sad to say that I was made to feel like I was placed at the end of the line because I was Mexican. Never been treated that way before at a business and it was a real eye opener. I don't recommend coming to this dealership for car buying and especially if you're of Hispanic decent. I doubt I'm the first customer Terry has treated this way.

Hello David, we're sorry about the wait times for finance however during these COVID times we're lower staffed and customer patients is much appreciated. Our General Manager called you after locating another vehicle exactly like the one you were going to purchase, and we also offered it to you at the same price as the previous deal. We aren't being discriminative and we treat all customers the same. If you'd like to speak with us further about your experience please feel free to send us an email. customerservice@mckennacars.com

Excellent Service

I started searching for a certified 2019, BMW X3, last October 2020. Through CARS.com I found several places within 100 miles from my home. I then started the elimination process based on equipment packages, price, miles driven, etc. Once I found the car that came closed to what I wanted I contacted that dealership, in this case, McKenna BMW. Immediately I received an email from a salesman named Stanley and we talked about my expectations, what I was looking for, and how I wanted to handle a purchase if everything I wanted was met by the dealer. Stanley was humble, professional, honest and more importantly he listened to my requests and concerns. With the information I provided him with he searched his inventory and found me a 2020, BMW X3, with only 5K miles (demo car) with the packages I was looking for. The price was also only $1400 more than an older model with more miles. He provided me with all the necessary info and websites available to start a purchase process with the understanding that not until I saw and test drove the car that I would make my final decision. We then set an appointment date and time to finally meet and see the car. I live approximately 89 to 101 miles from the dealership so I did not want to waste my time or the dealership’s, I wanted everything to be easy and ready for a final decision. Upon arrival at the dealership we were met by nice friendly people and then finally met Stanley and his manager. They never pressured me into buying the car, they explained the purchase process, warranty, etc. The BMW was what I had been looking for, I test drove it and because we had initiated the purchase process days prior (finance approval, down payment, and monthly payments) the rest of the paperwork was completed in a timely manner. I want to thank CARS.com for making my vehicle search a fun and easy one and I especially want to thank McKenna BMW for working with me to find me the car I’ve been dreaming about for the last 4 months.

Asked for information about a vehicle McKenna had on Cars.com and I never heard from the dealer in regards to the availability, financing, or even an appointment to visit and see the vehicle in person.

Falsely Advertised a Used Car as being a New Car

This dishonest dealership falsely advertised an X3 as a new vehicle. They worked out a deal for me to buy the car at an agreed price as a new car with full warranty. They were made aware that I was driving 2 hours to get to McKenna BMW to close the deal. When I got there, they asked me to sign a paper acknowledging that I was not going to get the full warranty on the car. When I asked why, and continued to ask questions, they finally leveled with me and advised that although they advertised the car as being brand new, it was actually used. It had been sold to another buyer, who drove it, then returned it. I declined to purchase the car. They wasted my Saturday, and I had to drive in horrible traffic, but they offered nothing to compensate me for my time, my gas, or other damages I sustained as a result of their fraud. When I complained via email to my salesman Gabriel, he responded with a disrespectful, taunting email. Indeed, it was a huge mistake for me to ever consider buying a BMW from McKenna BMW. Buyers beware!

Go elsewhere. Everyone is rude and entitled.

My experience at McKenna BMW was a pain. I wanted to ride out my new car high until I wrote this review to see if I still felt the same dissatisfaction, and I still do. My pregnant wife and I arrived at 11:30AM, and we finally left at 7:45PM. 8 hours to finally get off the lot with a car. First off, they were very possessive of the service history. They did not want to disclose that and had the excuse of, "it's locked in someone's office and they are not here. Reach back out to us on Monday and we'll get that to you." Well, I reached back out and I still have not received a response. Also, it is courtesy that we are gifted leather BMW key chains for new purchase. Their excuse was, again, "Our parts department is closed." We were only offered a 8 ounce water once in the 8 hours there, and we were starving by the time we left. As a frequent BMW customer, we were neglected by McKenna BMW staff. Nothing was done to accommodate the long wait, and there was a hint of disrespectful attitude with the McKenna employees towards my wife and I. It seemed as though the root cause stemmed from us being young and feeling they could take advantage of us. I am very satisfied with the car. But the experience even after giving them business? Disappointing and unsatisfactory. I'll firmly route all my friends and family to BMW dealerships elsewhere. Not worth it at Mckenna.
