My car broke down in May 2024.
My car broke down in May 2024. I had to wait a whole month just to get an appt for an evaluation with Tacoma Larson Hyndai. I originally purchased this car from Puyallup Korum Hyndai but when I called them to inquire about servicing my failed engine they lied to me over the phone. They told me that my make and model was not part of the class action law suit for rods and bearings in relation to engine failure. So when I called Tacoma Hyndai they at least told me that I was part of the lawsuit due to my make and model but I would most likely not quality for the repair coverage due to it being very specific defect and I would need a lot of records that proved I maintained the cars maintenance. They informed me the warranty evaluation process would cost $118.00 and that is just to see if it qualified for the warrenty repair. I also learned at that point, that I was not the first owner. Now I understand that the first owner of the car gets the warrenty. Plus, in 2022 I had already spent $5,000 at Graham Auto on this vehicle replacing the turbo aspect at 55,000 miles. So here I am again at 88,000 miles and I need a new engine. The Tacoma Larson Hyndai kept my vehicle in their shop from late June - early August with little solution offered to me but to buy a new engine at $10,000. I found an (outside of Hyndai Coop. ) warranty that I purchased for $4000.00 when my loan was created. So when my car was sitting in the shop for one month and nothing had been done to it I called Tony the shop manager. Tony said he would “look over my car” and see that I got pushed to the front of the line. August, Sept and Oct go by…still now offer for a loaner car. I would call repeatedly for updates. I texted Matt for updates with little replies from him and Tony the manager was not available for phone calls. Just leave a voice message and he never called back. I spoke to him twice in this 6 month process. Matt finally made progress with the warranty company and then told me that he would actually need to “take apart or tear down the engine” and see what needs to be replaced. So he takes his sweet time “tearing down the engine” and actually finding the problem and reporting it to the warranty company. It is now October, (first appt was June) finally the parts are here and I paid for services that the warranty company could not cover ($1400.00) There were some flushes that were needed and not covered. The main repair needed was due to a blown head gasket and the timing chain was changed out too. So I got my repaired car back late November. When I picked it up from Matt and he handed me my keys he told me how the other tech “had to work really hard in these last two weeks to get it done for me.” I bite my tongue and laugh so hard inside…well I’m glad someone worked hard in these last few weeks to make up for the last six months. I got my car back and vowed to not drive it on the freeway and trade it in ASAP. The holiday season was right around the corner so I went holiday shopping with my daughter and sure enough the check engine light comes on when I get on the freeway! Not even to one part of Tacoma to the next, so a short ride. It becomes a little bit noticeable that we have power loss. By the time my husband comes back to the car with me to see if he could get it home, the check engine light was off and it was fine. My 17 year old daughter is my witness that it was not fine prior! So we call Larson and they take it back in. This time they said they couldn’t find a problem and light never came back on but there is something with the muffler that could be replaced and that would help the engine. Since the Natl Warrenty had been so helpful I went ahead and used my warrenty again. Another $1500.00 paid to Hyundai with warrenty. This time I don’t have to wait months for the repair. I think Matt knew I was at the end of my rope with this situation!! So one week goes by maybe five day even and the car is fixed and ready to be picked up again.

Terrible customer service.
Walked around for 10 minutes trying to find someone to help me. It was like a ghost town. Finally found someone sitting at a desk, not wearing a name badge, and playing on his phone. He was very condescending to me and told me to go elsewhere. Continued playing on his phone.

Do not buy a Hyundai from this dealership
DO NOT buy a vehicle from Larson Hyundai, or any Hyundai for that matter. We have been dealing with major factory recalls that make the vehicle unsafe to drive from Hyundai for YEARS. This is our third major factory recall. We got an entire engine replaced on Larson Hyundai’s dime after much urging and trying to persuade them to take care of the issue they are responsible for servicing, because THEY ARE THE HYUNDAI DEALERS in our area. And now we are dealing with yet ANOTHER factory recall. The manufacturing company and or dealers of vehicles from this company are OBLIGATED to fix and remedy ALL factory recalls. This isn’t a wear and tear issue. This is a manufacturing error that potentially but the buyers and operators of the vehicles are major risk of harm. Factory recalls must be taken care of by either the company or the dealer (Hyundai or a Hyundai dealer). Larson Hyundai did not want to assume responsibility for a factory recall because the vehicle was purchased previously at another Hyundai dealer. That dealer no longer exists. Should it matter which dealership the car was purchased at? The car has THE NAME “Hyundai”, there is a factory recall that made our HYUNDAI vehicle unsafe to drive. So, who should assume responsibility for fixing the vehicle? Any guesses? HYUNDAI. A rep at Larson Hyundai couldn’t get our vehicle scheduled in until late August — the vehicle is not safe to drive and we have jobs to commute to. In the mean time, Larson Hyundai was unwilling to provide a replacement/rental car while we wait for repairs. They said it was because we did not originally purchase our vehicle from their lot. But does this matter? They ARE THE Hyundai dealership. The other lot no longer exists because Larson Hyundai took over and assumed responsibility for any service requests. Larson Hyundai expects us to risk being in a potentially fatal accident every day for 45 days (soonest they can get us in is 8/25/23). Their solution was for us to call a 1-800 number Hyundai corporate, with no promises that this problem can be resolved. Nope. Not a solution. This dealership has blamed everybody but assuming responsibility for one of THEIR vehicles, putting the customer at risk for potential bodily harm driving in one of THEIR vehicles. The only “100% guarantee” from Larson Hyundai is that they do not care about the lives of their customers. Do not do business with them.

Ridiculous
If I can leave less than one star, I would. I am never buying another car from hyundai. My car is under recall, my engine blew up, got it fixed, and there is more factory recalls. I tried getting it in the dealership, but they can’t get me in for another month and they won’t provide a rental (even though it’s not safe to drive right now and it’s under factory recall). The lady at the dealership told me to call corporate. She was nice. However, I tried calling corporate and no one picks up and it’s like you all do not want my business. You provided a rental car when my engine blew up, but now there’s a factory recall all the sudden, you can’t provide a rental car. Absolute crap. Make things right. Hyundai comes across as the stereotypical crony corporation that does not accept responsibility. I cannot work because of it and it’s a hardship on my family. To no fault of my own. My hybrid constantly breaks down and has a ton of factory recalls. I rather buy a @mitsubishimotors than deal with the constant issues. No one should do business with them until they clean this crap up. Wise up, @hyundai !

My car stared to roll backwards on park pulled key
I bought a gmc from there 4 months ago my main concern while purchasing a vehicle was that it was safe for both of my kids so I found one I thought would be suitable for that. Well while car was running and on park my eldest who’s was old enough turned the car off pulled key out and the car starts to roll backwards things got very scary through it all course they say nothing is wrong with it we put a new battery in your vehicle and check engine light went off but unfortunately if it does come back in you’ll have to go to gmc .As soon as I pick the car up light is still On . 21000 and this is what they put me in and my child gets harmed only 2 good people there who tried to help Rachelle and Joe besides that all the other workers were beyond rude it’s disgusting how they have the nerves to treat customers i wouldn’t suggest Hyundai to a soul on after this incident. They don’t care about customers!
