Honest and Friendly Service

They had a truck I wanted online so I contacted Ahmad. I wired him a refundable deposit, I flew to Texas from Jersey, he picked me up at the airport, when to his dealership, test drove the truck. I had a certified check for the truck but for some reason he couldn't except the check. All of the banks were closed and knowing I needed to head home for my granddaughters graduation, on just trust alone, we did the paperwork, he returned my cash deposit as discussed and I headed home with a truck that I only promised to pay for. The next morning while driving home I called my bank they over nights a new certified check. The next day of travel I received a call from Ahmad stating he received a check and thank me for taking care of the issue so quickly. He was paid before I got home. That my friends is trust.

Shady business practices

Contacted Ahmad Khatib (owner) on 4/15/20 about a truck I was very interested in. I told him I wanted the truck and I offered to put a down payment. He told me no, I don't need to worry about that, I trust you, ill hold it for you. I called back again to confirm I had a pre-purchase inspection service coming out. He wouldn't allow it to be taken to a mechanic. I once again offered to put a down payment on the truck, he again said there's no need to, he’ll hold it for me. I called back again to confirm I had the inspection scheduled for first thing in the morning 4/16/20, as soon as they opened. The inspection was completed within about an hour, and I had the results. Everything came back great. I called Amar right after to tell him again that I wanted the truck, and that I am coming out to get it. I once again offered to put a deposit on it, and even asked him what I need to do to secure the purchase. He again informed me not to worry, he will hold it for me, no need for anything. A few hours later, I was off of work and home getting everything together, when I received a call from Amar, saying his "brother" sold it about an hour ago. Obviously I was not too happy about this and requested he reimburse me for the inspection I had done. He agreed to repay me, and said he will send me a check. I didn't have high hopes he would. Its been almost two months and I have not received a check or heard anything back from him.

Honest People

Great to deal with! I had over 7 hour drive so asked many questions up front about shape of vehicle and owner represented it correctly.

Overall great buying experience

Had a great buying experience with these gentlemen. Bought a 2014 Town and Country. Car was as described and I got it for a fair price. They were very honest and no hassle. Facilities/office was not the cleanest or most organized but they delivered a clean and easy sale. Would buy from here again.

"Wasted Trip, Part 2:The Conclusion????"

Here is the follow up response to my review on my business interaction with oryx motors, after filing a complaint with the BBB. My response on this site is missing the text sent to me from this car lot but you can Google it to see the complete review: The anonymous person who responded to my complaint, with a bunch of political rhetoric, mentioned that they keep a majority of their cars in a warehouse, this was never mentioned in his text to me, where he called me out my name and borderline threatened me; and to be clear, I didn't see any of the cars they had listed online, not one car. He goes on to state that I am upset, that someone got a good deal, not at all. They can sell their cars to whomever they choose too, my point is their unprofessionalism. I called another dealer in the same area as oryx that had the same model vehicle and I was going look at both of them. The other dealership called me the day before I called oryx, and gave me, the professional courtesy to let me know that, they sold the car. So, I was left, unfortunately with oryx, that's when I asked them to send the purchase invoice to my bank. I would think that a car lot would know it would take a few hours at the minimum to get the loan approved and the check cut. By the time my bank finished, there was no way, I was going to make it there the same day. This so called good deal that they mentioned, depends on who got it, it clearly wasn't the customer who bought the car. They posted the car as sold and the amount it was sold for and I can tell you, it was sold for more than $6000.00 than what I was trying to buy it for. So, the dealer got the better deal in that sale. They mention that I failed to make arrangements to pick up the car by not calling. My response to that, once again, professional courtesy, to say that you had sold the car. Whomever responded to my complaint, stated that I wrote lies about their business. Not at all, I wrote about my business interaction with this car lot, no lies are needed, when the truth will suffice. Here are some lies, this person claimed to have called me to discuss my review and see if they can do anything to compensate me for my gas or something like that and then said that I declined an offer that was never made: surely, if they would have offered, I would have taken it. I didn't get a call, what I got was the text that was really offensive and unprofessional. This same person stated that they contacted their attorney regarding this matter. After the BBB was contacted, I haven't heard from the car lot anymore or their attorney. So, they earned my unbiased review on their unprofessional business practice involving me. I did find same model vehicle, a better deal and from a professional dealership (Matick Toyota) and not a car lot. They were out of state and even with the additional expenses added in with the purchase price of the car, it was still less than what they were going to charge me. I contacted them about the car, informed them that I'm in Texas and they let me know that they can't hold the car. I asked them to send the purchase order to my bank, they did and when the check was cut, I sent them a picture of the check. They asked me when can I come pick it up and they held it for a few days. I couldn't get oryx to hold the car until the next day. If I receive anymore disrespectful responses to this review, I will be sure to post it, in its entirety.

Dealer response

Thank you for sharing your life story, we really do not have time to read all of it but I would suggest that you get some help to get over yourself. Anyone with a little common sense would call before they made a 300 mile trip. Especially if the trip was on another day. In this business a lot of people claim they intend to purchase a vehicle, but many never follow through. The bottom line is; the car you wanted SOLD before you could buy it...and that hurt your feelings. By the way after you claimed that you are with the military, I will say that I feel a little less safe now knowing that such a Big Baby...has the job of protecting this Country. Perhaps I am mistaken and you are simply a janitor at a military base. In any case, its embarrassing that that you represent this country in any form. Go do something useful and get life. If you would grow a pair, next time your in Dallas. Stop by...you know where to find me. Have a good day!

did not even try to sell the truck

I offered the asking price but did not want to take my offer because it was Saturday on a holiday weekend and I did not have cash and wanted to use my card they missed out on a sale because of a 200 fee I offered to pay. Poor sales and customer service

Dealer response

Our profit margins are minimal, therefore we cannot give much of a discount. This customer wanted to pay the asking price of $8,495 using his American Express credit card, which charges us, the merchant, about $300 that he refused to pay and he did not want to pay the Tax Title License and Registration fees, which is $815.42.

satisfied customer

Armad is a genuinely good person, you know the kind that leaves an impression. It was well worth the drive to buy my car from him. He went far and beyond the call of duty for me to drive this car home! I will definitely buy from Armad (owner of Oryx Motors) again.

Best price I could find anywhere on a ML350

This guy is very fair, I bought a used ML350 nine months ago and it's been a great car, no surprises. He gave me a good price for my trade in and the deal was very straightforward, no pressure. Very small place and the office certainly isn't a show place but I got a great deal on a good car. I wouldn't expect him to come off his price a lot but I found his advertised price to be the lowest in the entire metroplex.
