Literally go anywhere else.

Literally go anywhere else. I bought a car for my son here and have had so many issues since. I should have been clued into the shadiness of this business when I was hesitant to buy because I would have to pay a large amount up front to add the car/my son to my insurance since I have a six month pay in full policy. They told me that I didn't need to add him as he would be covered as an occasional driver with just my name on there. I still decided to push forward as the car was in good condition from what I could tell (not a car person) I should have had the car inspected prior to buying but some of the issues should have been stated or addressed before putting the car on the market. I took the car to a Subaru dealership after purchasing and they found dry rot on the tires and the exhaust manifold needed to be replaced. When I reached out to Marketplace Auto, they were so unprofessional. I just asked why the car was for sale with these issues and sent them a list of recommended repairs. Wayne, the person who responded basically said that the Subaru was "just trying to scam me and charge me a bunch of money." I was in no way obligated to do these repairs but since this was a car for my son why would I say no to recommended repairs? Not to mention the fact that it would void my service plan if I don't take recommended action (which none of the repairs were covered by the service plan). I would have found the response of "too bad you bought it as is" as an acceptable answer, not bad mouthing another dealership. Not to mention he recommended he could "find me a better deal." Sorry but I'm not out to get the absolute cheapest repairs when the safety of my child is at stake. 2nd issue I had was with the license plate. After the temporary license plate expired, I went to the dealership to get another one (I had heard there was a shortage on license plates so wasn't bothered by that delay). When I got to the dealership, I found out they had the license plate for over 3 weeks and never reached out to me. They also had a check to refund me for overcharging me on the licensing they had been sitting on. While I was there, I filled out paperwork to cancel the service plan (10/4) and was told it would take about a month to see the amount removed from my loan. After about 5 weeks I called the service plan company, and they stated they never received the paperwork to cancel. I also noticed while on the phone with them that the dealership had put the wrong VIN number on the paperwork. I asked if I could cancel myself and they said no. I then called Marketplace Auto again to inquire why the cancelation was not being sent/processed. They said they would look into and never called me back. I called yet again and Preston sent me an "confirmation" of it being sent. The "confirmation" had absolutely nothing with my information so it in no way confirmed MY cancellation was included. He said it would be another 3 weeks or so to process the cancellation (this was 11/18). I have since reached out via email (12/10 & 12/17) with no response. This is just unacceptable and would hate for anyone else to fall into their trap.

Cheapskates

This place was very friendly at first and their vehicles are definitely quality, but once they get you in there talking about price they get a little less respectful. They will try to ask you to “help them help you” but you’re getting screwed on the price. They will not move a penny on price so be prepared to pay $3k more than the listing price because of fees and tax and what not, on top of not getting any type of movement on price.

Came in looking for a specific truck, and I met Tony Metcalf. Knowledgeable and NOT pushy. I was very interested in towing, and Tony pulled it all up and this truck IS the one. Great term and great rate. Come see Tony and he will take care of you!!

TONY WAS MY SALESMAN!

If you are looking for a salesman who knows what he is talking about, you better see Tony Metcalf. He took the time to send me a video, car history, and pics of the under carriage. Tony does not plays games. He shows you the truck you want and them makes sure it fits your budget! I will be buying my daughter from Tony this Summer.

Got a pretty new car for a good price!

I got a 2017 Jeep Renegade and got it for only about 13k before taxes and insurance. It looks brand new and the interior is super clean. My experience was very positive and easy, everyone was really kind and helpful and there was a really cute dog running around greeting everyone, his name is Rambo. My process finished within a couple hours, and I bought the car as-is so I'm not sure about the total condition of the car but from the test drive it ran fairly well like a new car would. Overall really good experience! (:

2015 Jeep Cherokee

Tony was awesome during the whole car buying process. Didn’t force to make any decisions right on the spot and gave me time to think it over. Came back later that day and purchased the car. Would recommend dealing with Tony to anyone!

Out-of-Sate Buyers

My husband found a unique Jeep that was a rare find, but we live in Idaho and were nervous about making a deal without seeing it first. Alan was our salesperson and he was amazing!! With a rough deal done over the phone, we made the 9 hour drive to the lot. Surprise!! The Jeep was as good as expected and they actually held up their end of the deal. Honestly, the only thing I am disappointed with is not having the foresight to bring a step ladder so I can get in the dang Jeep. Ah, well, I'm sure there is a Walmart around here somewhere. But, seriously, Alan was awesome from start to finish. 5 star
