The worst experience in buying a truck that was traded at

The worst experience in buying a truck that was traded at Subaru of Troy. Issues arose before the test drive with repairs that needed to be done such a faulty tire sensor and engine surge failure which was repaired later. Clerical errors with the processing of the insurance charge and I had to request it 3 times for modification under Subaru's direction. After making a deposit to purchase the truck at the agreed price, the internet sale site continued to advertise the price $502.00 lower. I was told it was a mistake and if I broke the deal my deposit was at default. I asked if I could get some free oil changes and was told point blankly "We don't give out free oil changes". The buyer vehicle order at the closing was inflated 440 dollars more and this was not communicated to me; plus this was an error of the sales tax. Their adjustment was played as a new deal for me when in fact the price was the original price. After settling on the finance, my calls were ghosted along with emails sent. In trying to resolve a warranty issue, service appointment requests were difficult to obtain. The needed repair involved leaking oil hoses and should have been noticed at their initial check in. I was told I would get a full tank of gas, and this was not done. The truck I appreciate it but the service and respect were very lacking. I never want to deal with Subaru of Troy again.

Hello, We take your feedback very seriously here at Subaru of Troy. I would like the chance to speak with you about your recently purchased truck from our Sales Team. We would like to address the discrepancy in price between what was advertised online and what you were charged in person, the level of customer service you received when inquiring about complimentary oil changes, and the quality of communication regarding needed repairs after your purchase. If you could please give us a call at your earliest convenience, it would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Customer Support Team Subaru of Troy (518) 805-6100

Do not go here if you value your time or safety.

Do not go here if you value your time or safety. As far as time goes, I tried calling to check on my car the day I was told it'd be fixed and the day after, and every time it went to voicemail. As for safety, I picked my car up Saturday, 8/17/24 and everything was fine for about 20 miles, until I heard a sound from the rear left wheel. I pulled over, and noticed a brake caliper bracket bolt was missing. Due to the incompetent, poor quality work performed here, I could've been seriously injured or killed if the brake caliper came off. As a mechanic myself, I would never allow a vehicle to leave without making sure it was 100% safe. The cherry on top is I tried calling service after it happened, and my call went to voicemail. Overall, I absolutely cannot recommend Subaru of Troy.

I was trying to buy a used car from the dealership.

I was trying to buy a used car from the dealership. I test drove the car. I liked the cars features but there was a rip in the driver’s side leather seat. There was also a tear in the passenger’s side leather seat. On the tip of the hood, there was deep marks indicating that the car hit something even though the carfax indicated no accidents. The car was a 2021 Ford Escape listed at $20,900. After test driving, I offered the salesperson $20,000 for the car. As salesmen do, he said they price their cars to sell he didn't think his manager was going to go for it. He wanted me to come inside to talk about it. I said no, that is my offer let me know if it is accepted. He then texts me a breakdown of what the car would cost based on $20,905. I rejected again and said no I can't do that. Again, he texted me about the price their cars to sell and cannot take the offer to his manager taking a thousand dollars off. The next day, I check the car online and see that they have the car listed at 20,563. I replied to his text saying that I find it hard to believe his manager will not take my offer when the car is already reduces by $400 online.. His reply, I was going to reach out to you. Would $20,000 earn your business today. I responded yes. Then he asks if I would be willing to finance with the dealer through Broadview. I said no, I must go to Broadview and pay off a car loan that I currently have and will prepare the loan with them. Then he called and again, I said I wanted the car and would put a down payment down. The next day, the salesman texts me and says Thank you for your offer. We are unable to sell the car to you for $20,000. If anything changes on your end, please let us know. I responded ok. Today, the car is listed online for $20,000. What is going on with the way they do business. I was treated evasively and was misled by this salesman. Was he mad that I didn't accept the original offer or was it because I didn't finance through them? I wouldn't normally use this as a reason but seeing the car marked at the price I offered online, I can't help but think was it because I was a woman shopping alone. This dealership treated me condescendingly

So I Was Very Excited To Purchase A Car.

So I Was Very Excited To Purchase A Car. Sohail William Was Very Nice Until We Went For A Test Drive ONLY For Him To Tell Me Go To The Gas Station. We Get Back I Tell Him I Like The Car. Then He Starts Asking All My Personal Information (What bank do I have … Who Am I Financing With.. Just All Of The Wrong Questions) Then Explained To Me That I HAD TO PAY FOR A BILL OF SELL BECAUSE I WASNT FINACING THROUGH THEM. He Had To Go Talk To His Manager came back and said SORRY WE CANT DO IT (BILL OF SALE) UNLESS YOU PUT DOWN MONEY. I was really upset because this isn’t my first RODEO. The next week I get 3 different ppl calling asking what happened I tell them and they all try and switch it up like no you HAVE TO DO THIS AND THAT… Because I asked for a BILL OF SALE and I didn’t wanna give them commission I left without a car. Worst Dealer Place I Have Ever Been Too… JUST LOOKING FOR ANY EXCUSE TO GET A EXTRA DOLLAR WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY CHARGING INSANE PRICES.

I just purchased a second time from Subaru of TROY.

I just purchased a second time from Subaru of TROY. We were so pleased with our experience for a second time. We felt so comfortable working with Nate. There was no pressure and all questions were answered. Buying a car is not my favorite thing to do because I don’t like to feel pressured. I felt relaxed during my conversation, needed time to think, called back the next day and am so happy I again bought from this dealership.

My wife and I were not sure what we wanted.

My wife and I were not sure what we wanted. Nate was helpful in going through the features that we were interested in and which car had those features. When we decided what we wanted Nate went to work and got the exact car we were looking for. Nate made the whole process very easy from start to finish. We also appreciated the help from the Sales Manager, Cullan Hanna and the Finance Manager, Mark Paone. Great place and great people to buy a car from.

Imagine going to a dealership as a Combat Military

Imagine going to a dealership as a Combat Military Veteran to buy a vehicle only to hear staff mocking their customers. I couldn’t see spending money with these folks just hearing how one “(UN)professional” mocked a woman who didn’t understand their practices. All I have to say is Thank God that these folks are Car Salesmen and not in “trusted” positions. Very disappointing and disrespectful….its a darn shame that you all weren’t taught better. My Army buddy did buy from them and sorry to hear his story! So…if you’re on here and are Military or a woman…I’d suggest you find a dealer and salespeople that would respect you. Moral of the story….buy your vehicles where you are going to be appreciated and valued!

Hello, We appreciate your feedback and take this accusation extremely seriously. As a Sales Department that has Military Veterans employed, we are extremely curious as to the specifics of this incident. I am writing this as the General Sales Manager, I would like you to please reach out to me directly at 518 805 6082 to discuss this further. We greatly respect all of our military personnel. I cannot tell based on the review if you were even present during this supposed incident. We also have females in management positions here at Subaru of Troy and have a high level of respect for all genders, and walks of life. Please reach out, I would love to discuss this further. But for the sake of our reputation, I ask the general public to give us an opportunity and make decisions based on your own experiences. Sincerely, Cullan Hanna

The process was made easy from start to finish.

The process was made easy from start to finish. I called and told them what I could do from a budget perspective. No sales pitch, no aggressive tactics. First visit was a test drive and second completed the deal. Easiest purchase and would definitely recommend.
