    I bought a, “new” 2018 Jeep Renegade last January during the time of Rainbow’s advertised New Year’s incentives. My first red flag was when I was not able... to pump gas continuously because the pump would stop each time. I believed it was the gas station, but I would find out that it was in fact my car and will explain more later. Within a few months of having the car I noticed grinding of my brakes. I brought my, “new” car in and was told that I needed new brake pads and 3 rotors replaced already..it was only a few months into my hands and had around 75 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. Around the same time, I was getting gas one day and as I went to leave the gas station my car completely shut down. I managed to get it to start again after 3 or so times of it shutting down consecutively and luckily made it back to the dealership before being stranded on the road. The person that greeted me when I pulled into the dealership said that the gas station had to have had water in their gas. It was not the gas station and their gas. Once I was without a car once again to have it serviced I was told that raw gas was getting into the engine/motor somehow. To fix this, a new fuel pump, vapor canister and various other parts were installed. On top of the frustration of having a, “new” car with a number of serious problems already, the 3 times that I’ve had to take my car in to have the problems fixed over several months now have taken an obnoxious amount of time, leaving me without a car for days multiple times and one visit lasted almost 2 weeks, as well as waiting on the parts since October for my most recent visit, (to add insult to injury). I thought it was interesting that I was not offered a rental car in place of being out of a car for any of those elongated times until today when I asked for the contact information of the dealership’s General Manager, (which I never received after inquiring multiple times)..that being said, my personal vehicle has been crucial to my livelihood throughout this ongoing ordeal, therefore I’ve lost substantial income due to this unnecessary time constraint. I give people the benefit of the doubt, but it is not actually problems with a new car that have made me reach my breaking point, (though that raises MUCH frustration and suspicion of its own that I plan on pursuing legally). It is actually the extremely lackadaisical manner in which my car was untimely serviced each time I came in for yet another issue. Warranty service appointments should be PRIORITY. If a customer is within the warranty timeframe and is already having a major issue, or SEVERAL, they should be serviced in a timely manner versus appeased with what they want to hear and left waiting anyway. If they have called ahead and were reassured that an 8:45 AM appointment would result in a completed service within a few hours that same work day, then that should be the delivered service and not, “by lunch tomorrow”. This review could’ve gone very differently, but unfortunately my experience has gone very differently than I had hoped.

    I called the Rainbow service center during my lunch break to see if they could activate the backup camera function in my Jeep. I didn't get an answer so... I called Community Motors in Hammond who said it would cost a 1/2 hour labor and I could wait for the service. Rainbow is much closer to work so I drove over to ask them to activate the camera. Upon arriving i went in and spoke to a woman at the service counter. She didn't know what I was speaking about till a service tech explained it to her. She then went to ask someone else about performing the service. She came out of a back room and said that Rainbow wouldn't activate the camera feature on my Jeep because the camera was not a Mopar camera. I tried to explain that the camera shouldn't matter because the change is in the Jeep programming. She wouldn't listen to me and I even said "You're not listening to what I'm saying" at which point she got a bad attitude, repeated what i had said then looked down at the desk to ignore me. At this point I was upset and told her she should look it up because she doesn't know what she is speaking about. I then left to go back to work. My three take aways from this experience are. 1. The service department has an incompetent worker who not only did not know about the vehicles she services but is also rude. 2. Whomever she spoke to in the back overheard the conversation and didn't get involved. Hence making him an incompetent employee also. 3. These two Rainbow employees don't embrace the jeep culture which includes a certain loyalty to fellow Jeep owners. If this is the front line staff, Rainbow should invest in employee training. Perhaps this was a onetime bad Monday experience but I will be sharing it with my Jeep club and I will not be back to Rainbow. This is truly a misfortune as I intend to purchase a Gladiator this year when my daughter gets my Wrangler as a graduation gift.

    Honesty is not in this dealerships business plan. They advertise one price only to up the price when you arrive at the dealership. They quickly call the... advertised price an error or tell you that vehicle sold. They add 495.00 to the price for services already given by the manufacturer plus charge hundreds in document fees. The more you know about this dealership the easier it becomes to travel to Metairie, Slidell or Baton Rouge and give up the local convenience. Don't believe me? Talk to anyone about the management of sales or service who has had to deal with them within the last year (2018) Buyer Beware!!

    I have been going to this dealership for over a year now and have had good and bad experiences. One thing I can say is that is something goes wrong like... they will work hard to fix it and make things right. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. Like any dealership you will have good and bad but I think they appreciate the business and work hard to show you that.
