Barts Car Store-Columbia City Hours
Many people dream big, but few people actually achieve their goals of being a successful business owner ? and surpass those goals. Bart Churchward, president of Bart?s Car Store, dreamed of being an entrepreneur since he was a kid. He set a deadline to be in business for himself by the age of 30. He achieved that goal three years late, but he has managed to surpass his own expectations, and those of others, by owning one of the most successful and trusted used-car dealership groups in the area.

Brandon helped me when I was looking for a second car to drive to work. Although there wasn’t anything I wanted on the lot he continued to send me updates... on cars they were acquiring.
My daughter needed to get a new car. We went to Barts because they had something that she was interested in. When we got there to look at the car it was... horrible. My father-in-law said it needed an alignment the engine light was also on. We informed the salesman of this and he said he would let the mechanics know. He said that they would check their other locations to see if they could find something for her. We called back a few days later and they told us that the car we had looked at was not safe and they were not going to be selling it. They did find one at another location and brought it up for us to look at. We went and test drove the vehicle. My father-in-law noticed the tires were VERY worn but from what we could see the car "appeared " to be ok. We asked to see the Carfax report the sales person said they would try to get it for us. He kept beating around the bush. We tried to get some money off of the sale price since we would need to replace the tires but they would only take it down $300. My daughter decided to go ahead and get the car without seeing the carfax. We took it to get new tires only to find out it had the wrong size tires on it. We had to spend over $600 on the new tires. Recently she has been having a lot of issues with her car pulling. We took it in to get an alignment. While it was being checked out they found that it had been in an accident at some point and been fixed with junk yard parts. Her front tires were bald on the inside and needed to be replaced at a cost of $300 and to fix the shotty repairs done before we bought it would cost us another $400. If you think you want to buy a car here DEMAND a Carfax report. I was hesitant on my daughter getting this car but it was her money and her loan. She has learned a hard lesson.
Went in looking for a truck and left with our truck. Brandon was friendly and never pressured anything on us like most salesman do. Really appreciated... everything they did for us today!
They made a deal with me that they would fix an oil leak before they sold me the jeep I bought. They replaced one part and said it was fixed. They didn't... clean off the old oil from the gasket pan to even make sure that the leak was fixed. They didn't drive it around either because when I got home it was still leaking. I tried to contact the sales man who sold me the jeep for over a month. I finally got ahold of them and they weren't going to refund me the money I had to pay to get the oil leak fixed. I had to tell them I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau for them to refund me my money. The manager was very rude and unprofessional on the phone, who later apologized. I am not impressed on how they manage there business.
I recently had an accident where my truck was totaled and I was looking at used trucks on car fax. Jason Barnes was great to work with through the entire... process. He emailed me and I told him I wanted to test drive a truck I found online. He was very patient and was willing to help any way he could. I actually test drove two trucks and bought the second one. Jason is a super nice guy and he answered all my questions. I’m not sure who was more excited me or Jason! I will recommend Jason and Bart’s Car Store to anyone who is looking for a truck! Everyone that helped along the way to getting me in my new F150 I thank you very much!!
Found a Truck that was a good deal. Talked to Bobby back and forth, calls and texts, for a couple days. FINALLY came to an agreement on $0 Down and a payment... not to exceed a number. Bobby texts me and says "Boss man says we will hit $$$ for you". I double check and make sure that Tax title and everything is included in the monthly price. Bobby's response was "YES SIR". I explained that I did not want to drive the 1.5 hours to their location if the price was going to be over a certain number. Since "Boss Man" said they would do it. I drove 2 hours (due to const. and detours) drove the truck and it seemed like a great truck and told Bobby I think it could be the one. We go in and sit down, he talks to his people and comes back to me with a number that was $53/mo OVER the price he promised me on the phone. I tell him no that's not what we agreed upon. He goes back to his people and comes back with a number that was $30/mo OVER the agreed price. I asked for my keys back and drove home. THEY WASTED 4.5 hours of my day and $20 in fuel. I NEVER would have drove down there if the price wasn't right for me. All they had to say was i'm sorry we cant get to that number and I would have been fine with looking for another vehicle. NEVER TRUST A WORD THAT THEY SAY!!! ESPECIALLY BOBBY!!! I will never look at any vehicles on their lots again even if it is the perfect vehicle for me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Told me a number just to get me in the store thinking I would go for it just because I drove so far! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!
Great service. Test drive was nice. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable and patient. Building was clean and cool and quiet on a hot day.
We bought a truck and after found mutilple problems with them including lugnuts missing and studs, as well as the key. Took it in to get fixed and they... only fixed the key they “forgot” about the rest. And would get $100 credit To take it to get it fixed then we would have to pay the rest. Do not waste your time or money here.
They lied to me multiple times and then tried to sell me a truck that had been in 5 accidents. It was also priced $6000 more than one down the street with... less miles and NO ACCIDENTS. ABSOLUTE CON ARTISTS. They pressured me the entire time and then cussed me out when I wouldn't sign the papers on another truck. STAY FAR AWAY.
I went and looked at a 14 Dodge Ram. Ran my credit, got a rate told bobby I would call my bank the next day and get back with him, I AM INTERESTED in this... truck. Next morning reassured him I am actively searching financing for this truck. Found a co-signer later and called around 5pm that day to run the credit with both of us. Got the numbers back I liked them so said I will be there before you close to close the deal. The man on the phone said that the truck had been transferred to Indy that morning there is an appointment at noon the next day to look at it and they cannot cancel that appointment. So here I am the second day waiting to see the truck I ran my credit for 3 times and my co-signer ran his credit WHEN THE TRUCK HAD NOT BEEN ON THE LOT ALL DAY. Absolutely horrible company management. Calls being constantly misdirected to avoid the fact that someone had messed up and allowed the truck to go and not held the truck as I was seeking finance. Very very displeased with this branch of Bart’s..
