I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Field

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Field Motors in Lakeland, Florida, particularly with Ron Bigler, the Mercedes Benz Sprinter van representative, and Mic Romero, the General Manager. Despite being an out-of-state buyer eligible for Florida’s tax exemption program, they outright refused to honor the program. In addition, I was overcharged for Florida’s taxes and had to fight for a refund of the overcharge. To make matters worse, they also charged me for Florida title and registration fees, even though it was known that the vehicle was never going to be registered in Florida—it was going to be titled in Alaska. They provided misleading and incorrect information, claiming that I was required to use a shipping company to remove the vehicle from Florida in order to avoid taxes. This claim was not only false but also contradicted the actual process, which allows for vehicle titling and registration upon arrival in Alaska, as long as I had proper insurance coverage for the journey. The most egregious issue came when they refused to provide the Assignment of Rights documentation for the tax refund application, making the process unnecessarily difficult and time-consuming. I had to escalate the matter by contacting the Florida Department of Violations, the Department of Revenue, and the owner of Field Motors before they finally begin to address the situation. In addition, they altered my purchase price and paperwork from the time of the initial full payment to the pickup, which was a week later. This is a clear indication of dishonesty and lack of transparency in their business practices. If you plan to purchase a vehicle from Field Motors, I strongly advise you to thoroughly review every line item of the paperwork in advance, as they cannot be trusted to provide accurate or consistent documentation. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. I hope others can avoid the same pitfalls and find more reputable dealerships that value their customers' time, money, and trust.
