Write a reviewAfter wandering numerous lots aimlessly looking at
After wandering numerous lots aimlessly looking at unpriced cars with no information on them, test driving "clean" cars with grinding brakes and slipping transmissions, and being told by lying salesmen that cars with mismatched panels or cracked welds have never been in a wreck, we finally found a reputable dealer. Some excellent things about Preferred Auto that are hard to find elsewhere: 1) Cars are priced on the lot. You don't have to waste time explaining to a salesman what you are or are not looking for. 2) Window stickers are on all the cars! No waiting for a salesman to look up the mileage, features, etc. 3) The sales staff leaves you alone while you browse around, research cars, and narrow your list. 4) The sales process was quick and easy with zero pressure. 5) Six months later, we've found no issues with the vehicle. 6) They had no bad cars on the lot at all--every one of them seemed solid and reliable. 7) CarFax reports were available free of charge. 8) There are great Uzbeki, Jamaican, and Indian restaurants right down the road! I don't think any two of these things were true of any other dealership. Don't waste your time driving all over the city. Keep an eye on their site, or tell them what you're looking for and wait for their call.

I have talked with many dealerships and this is another
I have talked with many dealerships and this is another dealership refusing my form of payment, while I am trying to purchase a car and pay in full they refuse to accept my form of payment. When informing them that a business-to-business transaction requires Internal Revenue reporting they refuse to cooperate. When informing them of the rules of law their answer is we do not do business like this. A promissory note is a legal form of payment. What do you think a federal reserve note is????? Its a promissory note. The financing department uses it when signing and then does the IRC reporting without your knowledge. I am financing this sale myself and doing the leg work the finance department would normally do. This is called double accounting and is illegal and unlawful.

Dear Maybejoe, I am sorry you had a bad experience somewhere but I do not think it was here. I am the only F&I manager here and would have been involved. Personally in 30 years I have never heard of this form of payment. A promissory note is between a bank and the customer which we do facilitate here on personal loans, We do not do commercial loans. There is only 2 salespeople in our office and neither remember a conversation like this. If it was a commitment letter from another bank with a copy of the promissory note on a personal loan that we can accept. You mention in your review that several dealers have refused this form of payment. Without looking at it I really couldn't help anymore. On a side note we only have 2 Mercedes and neither of them are completely ready to release. Please feel free to call me to discuss further 513-755-3885 Pat G
Perfect experience from start to finsh
This was the best used car shopping experience. The whole process was so easy and painless. That is not my usual experience as a female. Pat was wonderful and respectful. He showed me the car and had to jump it since the battery was dead. I notice the seal in the headlights was broke so moisture was inside the headlights. I said if I liked the car I’d need the headlights replaced. The car drove great. Pat agreed to replace the headlights and, without me even asking said, “obviously the battery is shot so I’ll replace that as well”. I asked if he thought it needed new tires, which I said I would pay for, and he said the tires were Michelin, a good brand with probably 10,000 miles left, so it should wait. I appreciate he didn’t try to sell me a set of tires I didn’t need. When I picked up the car, it had brand new headlights and a brand new battery. He didn’t pull parts from the junk yard or repurpose a battery from one of the other cars. He also spray painted the arms of the windshield wipers black (they were rusted metal) to make it look good. It was washed and waxed and looked great! He had the paperwork ready to go when I arrived to pick up so it was easy to complete the sale. That was 2 weeks ago and the car has been sound with no problems. Thanks Pat! I will never buy from anywhere else!

Paula, Sorry for the delayed response. We had some system issues. Thanks so much for the 5 Star review. It means a lot to all of us. I am glad all is going well with the car and we were able to assist. Hope to see you again in the future Happy Motoring, Pat G
No Accidents or (4) Accidents That is The Question
I was planning to consider this dealer 2009 350Z for purchase but after reading the vehicle description on cars.com and on the dealer's website that noted "NO ACCIDENTS" but the Carfax they provide noted (4) accidents. I had to question the integrity of the dealership before I even got started. I did verify the VIN as listed was the same on the Carfax report. Could this be a simple error? Possibly, but this is an error that is easy to catch for I sure is an image conscience dealership. This error ran me away quickly. I wonder how many other potential customers caught these similar errors and decided not to consider this dealership. Note to the owner or management team, have someone check your listings before publishing. You might be losing business.

Adrian, Sorry for the delayed response. I can't say much more than sorry. This was an honest mistake. We are very conscious about our image. The only thing I can think of is our guy that enters the notes looked at the wrong CARFAX. Thanks for the heads up. The listing has since been corrected. The only other thing I see on that CARFAX is that it looks like the listed one accident 2 or 3 times or someone kept hitting the same spot. Thanks again. We will try to do better in the future. Pat G
Terrible, just terrible
This guy was so incredibly unprofessional I don’t even know where to start. I say “this guy” because I don’t know his name, he never introduced himself. He didn’t really do much during my visit, but what he did do was awful. This was my first time buying a car and this experience was nothing like any other dealers I’ve been to. He had an attitude the whole time and I’m not sure if that’s because he didn’t respect me because I’m a female and was with my mother, or what but it was uncalled for. When I was done with my test drive and overall inspection of the vehicle, (he was watching us from the door, don’t think he liked that I popped the hood) I went back in and told him I was ready to talk numbers. He said okay and then proceeded to take care of other customers, even making multiple phone calls during our transaction. The vehicle I was looking at was a little pricey for me and I told him if he dropped a few hundred dollars I could walk out paying CASH that day. He refused to negotiate so I left without a car and with a nasty taste in my mouth. I drove almost 50 miles to be disrespected and disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this dealer to anyone, as a matter of fact I recommend you stay far far away.

Laurel, I am sorry you were not satisfied with your experience. A car having a mechanical issue after the delivery is not something we ever like for either party, but occasionally it does happen. As you can see from many of our other reviews, we have a pretty good success rate. Unfortunately, a starter is not something that usually shows symptoms. When they go they go. I just had the same issue with one of my personal vehicles. Worked fine all day and then all the sudden, that was it. At some point we do have to draw the line on what we will assist with. A lot of variables go into that. Time it was gone, age of car etc... I hope all goes well going forward. Pat G
Great experience

Purchaser
I bought a 2013 Chevy Spark from this dealer on 26th Oct 19. Drove to work for 3 days and on the fourth day the car battery died and had to replace it. I know I bought an "As Is " car but did not expect such an experience. I learnt from my experience and will not buy from this dealer or recommend them to anyone. Customer service was ok, not very friendly.
