Reviews
The Carmax personnel are friendly, efficient, and well-prepared. This is my second experience buying a car from CarMax, and both occasions were very positive.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Discussed options for doing the transaction. I was given sufficient time to look at and drive the vehicle.

Carmax was unable to process my return and made the process extremely difficult. This is the last car I will ever be purchasing from the platform.

A very professional run dealership. Tremendously friendly and helpful. All agents are very knowledgeable about the business.

Cold blooded efficiency - very corporate, not customer/employee-based. They do the minimum needed to sell the vehicle - like dealing with an attorney. "Where are the wheel well liners?" Well they aren't in this tiny picture. And why would anyone be looking for that? I get the feeling the employees are not well-taken care of - like I said - very corporate. I am an architect and active builder - people are what I do and I can pick this up. There is no love or pride in their work - just doing a job. The top of the truck looked good - the underside was filthy and the tires were very underinflated to make the ride smoother - dangerous! This is not a dealership - it is a retail store that sells vehicles.

Very good experience. Three things that show the point. First, I test drove the vehicle I was expecting to buy for 2 hours and found the harried salesman when returned telling me that the test drive is usually limited to 30 minutes. He never called the police on me and was gracious as could be about the whole thing. Second, the pictures from which I checked the car online showed all weather floor mats and I mentioned that I was disappointed to see that they weren't there when checking the car. He said right away that they would either find them or replace them with new ones--which they did. Finally, as I drove away after purchasing the vehicle I noticed that the tank was full. Thank you Justin!

First time here. We were treated well and would go back. Wish we had gotten more for the trade in. What we got was less than half of the online offer. The salesman was personable and very helpful.

Shipped in the car I wanted. Made an appointment for express pick up but still waited over an hour for five minutes worth of paperwork. Car came with two dead key fobs, and I was left stranded the next day googling how to start the car. Paid cash and didn’t do a trade in because the SA made it clear that they weren’t interested in my trade in (sold to carvana for higher. Ended up being easier). Not impressed with CarMax at all.

The car was misrepresented as an all wheel drive. The did take some off the total. There were also 2 large chips in the windshield, and I opted to try to have them fixed locally and found out they were already attempted a repair and it failed. While in my 10 day return period, I spoke to service. They said they would have it replaced. I contacted Safelite who they contract to replace windshields. Safelite didn’t show. I had to call them to find out why. The tech didn’t have time. I contacted CarMax immediately. Safelite rescheduled, I got a call from them saying they couldn’t replace the windshield and they weren’t sure why anyone scheduled an appointment to begin with as they were short staffed, didn’t have proper tools. CarMax called me and told me that Safelite would come to scan the car. They did not. They cancelled my windshield appointment 11 days after purchase. Can’t return the car, can’t replace the windshield, then was ghosted by both CarMax and Safelite. After ourchasing, I had to question if I even had got the car I bought. The odometer didn’t match the disclosure. Only noticed this when later reviewing the paperwork. Guess I learned my lesson. Also on a side note. The sales person text me, addressed me by the wrong name in the text. I should have taken that as a hint.
