Buyer Beware

Volkswagen of Streetsboro is one of the worst businesses I’ve ever worked with. If you’re looking for a car, I highly recommend you consider a different dealership and a different company to avoid the years of stress they have caused me. I bought a new Jetta from this dealership in 2018. Several months into my purchase, my driver side door wouldn’t unlock. After crawling into the passenger side and taking it to the dealership, they told me it was a driver’s side door module issue and replaced it. 5 or 6 months later, IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING, all of the lights on my dash started flashing, the internal warning started going off saying my driver side door was open, and the parking brake started turning on and off. I returned it to the dealership and they told me, again, it was the driver side module (which they just replaced), but they’d have to order the new replacement part and it was on back order. One month later they called to say the part was in. They then called me back a week later to say the part wasn’t in and may not ever come in. My car was replaced through the Ohio Lemon Law and the process was incredibly frustrating. My case manager didn’t once respond to my calls and it took months to complete. I was in the dark most of the time. One year later, I take my replacement vehicle in to get my oil changed, and they tell me they never actually finished the paperwork for the replacement! My replacement car is almost paid off, meanwhile, the bank still has the old car on record and the dealership has to redo the substitution of collateral. In addition to the complete incompetence of this dealership, I’ve never received an apology or acknowledgement of responsibility throughout these past two years. I have never felt like a valued customer and the entire company from dealership to corporate is a disaster. Do not purchase a car from this dealership. Run away as fast as you can. I will never buy a Volkswagen vehicle again.

Same old Tricks

>>Good >They did find me a car that was a good price for what I got. >They let me do an overnight test drive so I could make my mechanic appointment and get to work on time the next day. >>Not so good >The waiting room had free water and granola bars. There was a vending machine for other snacks and drinks. No free Wi-Fi, phone charging station broken. >When I test drove the first car they showed me they had it ready 30 minutes late so I missed my mechanic appointment that time. >When I finally decided to purchase the second car I test drove, I was asked to commit over the phone. I declined, wanting to do everything in person. >I asked them to clean the corroded battery terminals, and was told the car is sold "As Is." >Then I reported a low-tire-pressure light. I was told the tires lost air because of weather changes, and they would check the pressure. My mechanic has since told me I actually have a bad TPMS. >>Bad > First, Volkswagen of Streetsboro asked me to finance with them. I declined, stating I have a good relationship, and a really good rate, with my credit union. I was told that they would only accept a check or wire transfer from my credit union. This led to them sending the wrong paperwork to the credit union -- the first time. >Next, they gave me paperwork with extra charges totaling more than the tax. When I refused, I was told that was a mistake, and they returned with paperwork so quickly, I can't believe they had time to print it out new. >Finally, VW of Streetsboro asked for a $1000 deposit. I said no to that too, but they sent the wrong paperwork anyway to the credit union a second time. This led to a 2-day delay picking up the car, and wasted most of my credit union loan officer's day. I asked someone I trust who works in finance about the wrong paperwork going out twice. It was their opinion that it was deliberate because I would not finance with VW of Streetsboro.

HORRIBLE

absolutely a horrible experience. unprofessional, rude, interrupting, unprepared. This dealership came highly recommended and I was APPALLED AT HOW I WAS TREATED. I WOULD NEVER BUY A CAR FROM HERE

Great experience

Great experience buying a car last month working with Chris. Easy to work with the finance and managers as well. Would highly recommend coming back to the dealership in the future.

Really nice people

I went with my niece to buy her first car. We worked with Robert and Mike. They were both great and made us feel at ease , no pressure what so ever . Highly recommend Robert

Liars! take your money elsewhere

Called earlier in the day to stop and look at the vehicle. Drove over 40 minutes out to look at it and test drive. Waited around for good 20 minutes for them to tell me that I can't test drive it because of a tail light. Pics of tail lights. They look perfectly fine. Liars. Don't shop here. Take your money elsewhere.

Robert was awesome!

Robert was awesome, friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone looking at purchasing a new vehicle. He listens to what you want and doesn't try to oversell you.

Drive 5 hrs they lied car was painted with a brush. Asked for pictures. Didn’t send that one. Left without a car. Never again. 😡

The car dealership your dad warns you about...

After 6 hours in the dealership, my wife and I sitting alone without more than 3 updates, and the dealer unable to make any of the promised repairs on the vehicle we were purchasing (and refusing to offer a discount), we finally left the dealership with a new car. Going to sleep that night, I had a pit in my stomach from the total experience. Throughout the entire process, I felt like the staff was "trying to pull a swift one" on us.

Stay away! No integrity!

They did not honor the advertised price from cars.com. I saw the car advertised Friday night. Called Saturday morning to check availability and it was confirmed. I drove almost two hours they changed the price. I showed them my screen shot of the advertised price and they said their team changed the price that morning (increased $1,800). Do not waste your time!
