I don’t often write reviews …but felt that my recent experience at Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad deserved a shout out. Service Advisor, Jim Malandra, took a... frustrating issue with my blue tooth phone connection and went above and beyond researching a solution and orchestrating the fix. He also followed up several days later to ensure the issue was resolved and I was completely satisfied. Jim’s attention to detail and amazing follow-up are a rare thing these days. Honda is very fortunate to have such a professional yet caring and personable employee.
We have been multiple Honda family (since the 80's) and have always had them dealer serviced. Moved back to the area a few years ago and have had the... cars serviced regularly at this dealer. Never fails that something is missed or wrong or the estimate is exceeded without explanation. Have never seen the same service writer twice in the last 4 years, the ones that are working there could not be less interested in talking to customers, some are just plain rude. Will say we did get a great deal last year on a new Accord. After our most recent service experience with our older Accord I will be trying another dealer. Great place to purchase a car, horrible service department.

My wife and I went to begin our search for a new Accord as my wife works near there. We were very upfront about telling the sales representative that we... were just beginning to look and wanted to see other vehicles and dealerships since we had been quoted by a couple others better prices. After the test drive the sales rep was very pushy about getting the process done there and that I would not get a lower price than what they were offering (which coincidentally was the highest) and that every other dealership wasn’t as good because they hadn’t been around as long or had the selection that they had. Even when I showed him the other quotes he said that they wouldn’t come close to what we would pay there and didn’t care to do anything else until I agreed to buy their car. I wouldn’t ever go back to Carlsbad Honda for anything, save yourself the time and headache and poor service and go to DCH Honda of Temecula, the staff was much nicer, the prices WAY BETTER and the sales associates that we dealt with there were far more knowledgeable about the vehicles.
My AC was not working very good as the system was low on freon. I returned to Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad and they charged me $163 for the service of recharging... freon and chaning a $25 relay. This was in July 2016. Fast forward June 2018 when I returned for the same issue, they charged me $434. When confronted, the manager told me that you have agreed over the phone, that was the price. Tremendous price inflation or blatant rip off, you decide, that was my last visit in this garage.
I went to Hoehn Honda to buy and replace driver side mirror kit.The technician from Hoehn Honda informed that if they buy the part from them they will... replace it with no additional charge and they will do it in 10min.I agreed and he spoke to his manager and have given me quote.I took the quote from him and paid the amount.Next day when the part arrived I was asked to pay additional amount for service again and have to wait for 2hrs for getting it fixed.When I have informed them what was told to me they just told that he has no authority on price and he didn’t talk to his manager.I spoke service manager and told them that he was a Hoehn representative that has given me the quote and details,he paid no interest to at least hear me out and reiterated that he was wrong and he has no authority to take that decision.I was not concerned about the additional amount I paid but for a few dollars they lost a regular customer for service and I had plans of buying new car and considering them but not anymore
My wife and I needed to purchase another car for our growing family. We contacted Lindsey Brown online and based on our needs she referred us to meet up... with Bob Johnson and Jim "Fish" Fisher. We told them what we wanted and what we could afford and they fully understood our needs and NEVER once did they "push or hassle" us into anything. Buying a car can be scary and overwhelming for many people however their commitment to finding us the right deal to fit our budget was on point! The whole team was loyal and in the car business that's rare. Super respectful, honest, kind and courteous is how I would describe our experience at Hoehn Honda. Ultimately we purchased a beautiful car and my wife and I are very pleased. Thank you Lindsay Bob and Jim for your commitment to the customer.
We have been in so many dealerships in town and finally we found the right place , Hoenh / Honda Carlsbad . Staffs were wonderful and kind with special... mention to Angelina "Geline" and her co staff Nelson . They were very approachable and warm . They make sure all our questions are answered clearly and diligently. They explained to us alll the details of the car that we are looking for. They made us feel as a familly. They assured us that we will be happy and satisfied with our new car and they are there to help if any concerns or problems come out .
It was a very interesting buying of car experience . Angelina "Geline" and her team were so approachable to inquiries and questions . We felt so special... and well attended . We're happy that we got the car that we are looking for . Thanks to the experienced staffs of this dealership .
I purchased a Civic touring 4door. Fantastic car and the sales person, Will, was very nice and full of information. I appreciate his patient, respectful... personality. I usually do not talk to a sales person when I am looking at things but Will was very respectful and he was not pushy. I'm very happy with my new car and I feel very fortunate Will helped me. Thank you Will!
