They Baited Me and Cost me $500

I am around 6-7 hours away so I contacted the dealership and had the salesmen go through a check list for me for a vehicle to check specific items for me since I couldn’t just take a drive over and look. All items on my list were “checked” and were said to be good with no problems. I booked a $300 one way flight to look/purchase the vehicle. I arrived and went through the check list for myself and thank goodness I did. Absolutely NONE of the items on my list worked/operated as the salesman said it did after he “Checked” it out! I also found even more wrong no noted in the listing. They baited me there and like a dummy I trusted their word. So how I have to book a flight back for another $200. They’re excuse was that “it must of been a fuse blown and that’s why all it stopped working, plus it’s an older vehicle.” So my advice is, if you want to save some stress and frustration STAY AWAY!

An Honest Review of Salem Autosports

Salem Autosports has gotten some bad reviews from people who buy vehicles from them only to have them end up having mechanical issues. It's important to keep in mind that salem autosports is essentially a car flipping dealership, meaning they buy used cars from a couple of sources (such as trade-ins from a local dealership), and then turn around and sell them for a good deal without doing much mechanical review or cleanup of the vehicle. This method of business allows you to find some pretty good deals here, but you have to know the above to know that you need to do your own review of the vehicle and you're not going to be guaranteed that you won't have to put a little money into it after you buy it to fix a few things. All that said, I got such a good deal on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma with low miles that it was worth me flying here all the way from Omaha, Nebraska, to buy the truck that I had not even seen in person. Yes it was a bit of a risk, but it paid off and the truck is very nice even though I did have to put about $1,300 into it after buying it to fix a few things like some ball joints. That said I got the truck for probably like $4,000 under Blue Book value so I'm still well in the money on it and love it. As far as service goes, these guys were great to work with from afar. They answered all my questions kindly and promptly and even went as far as sending me video footage of them hammering on some areas under the frame so I can make sure it was just spot rust. Overall I would definitely recommend this dealership with the caveat that you have to be ready to do your own research on the vehicle and thoroughly check it out to make sure that it is good as far as you can tell and be willing to potentially put a little money into it after you buy it, but that's not really that uncommon when buying a used vehicle anyway. I caught a few minor issues with the truck when doing my in person review, (such as the passenger side door handle being broken), and they knocked off a couple hundred dollars right on the spot for me. Thanks guys! Appreciate the good deal and service!

Great, Local Dealership with Quick Sale

I had a great experience at Salem Autosports buying a Subaru Forester. Mike was super responsive and helpful. Not pushy like your typical car salesman. I'd highly recommend Salem Autosports to anyone looking for a vehicle in the area.

Reasonable prices compared to other dealerships.

I was looking to swap my SUV for a truck and Salem had reasonable prices on trucks in the area. Everything was low pressure and straight forward. They looked at my trade and offered a deal and I test drove a few trucks and found a trade. Really polite family run small business. Thanks again for a low stress experience Brandon!

Excellent And Knowledgeable Sales

The salesman was super knowledgeable and helpful as I shopped for my new 3rd row SUV. Efficient sale and helped answer any questions I had!

the car you they tried to sell us was front end damaged...

the car you they tried to sell us was front end damaged and the check engine light went on during the entire test drive. the pictures of the cars online are deceiving. they take far away pics and don't show full car so you cant see the damage. they wanted 10,000 and wouldn't go any lower but when I told my husband we could go to Broadway because they have a meet or beat deal where they take off a thousand bucks, the guy told me when my husband went for the test drive he was willing to go 9,000 but no lower. they get beat up used cars and sell them for much more than they are worth. also some worker had to fill the air in the tires of a truck before this guy could test drive the car he was looking at.......
