I recently started shopping for a car, and as someone
I recently started shopping for a car, and as someone without experience or connections in the industry, it’s been more complicated than I expected. At the first dealership I visited (Toyota Place in garden grove), they quoted me $563/month. I tried negotiating down to $450 a fair and reasonable offer for that MSRP, not a lowball. But they looked at me like I was crazy, so I walked out. Later, I found an offer under $450 at another dealership. I called the original salesperson to let them know I was moving on as I promised to tell them if I did so. Suddenly, I received a call from a guy name Ray (not straight forward/disingenuous) he asked what the offer was and told me to come back in so they could beat it. ( keep in mind that they looked at me crazy when I offered $450 before the 2nd quote I got, now he (Ray) easily offering $420 That felt like a clear attempt to just get me back in the door a tactic that I just learned that car dealership uses. Here’s where it really crossed the line: once I returned, they claimed my credit score was 650 — nearly 100 points lower than it actually is. My credit has consistently been over 700 all year. It seemed like a tactic to justify a higher price or worse terms by misrepresenting my financial profile, they said they had bad news that my payment it’s going to be $567not $420!!! Surprisingly this was their first offer they gave me before I found a better deal! THE Worst!! When I didn’t agree to their terms and told them I’m going back to the dealership that gave me the first offer that you claimed to beat, I got a text from the sales rep saying “when someone gets approved through Toyota Financial for financing or leasing, the rate should be the same at any Toyota dealership. They can’t legally offer different rates across stores, so let me know if you wanna move with my offer! So basically, you can’t go to the first offer you got, that made the Deceptive dealership to lower their price and you are stuck with Deceptive dealership price. Thankfully, they quote me on 6ft bed for the truck by mistake so I changed a trim and got the truck with 5ft bed for $430 still. To conclude, Get multiple quotes as it is the only way to get these greedy sales rep to lower their prices or else they will aim at the highest rate and make higher commission off your back.

can't speak highly enough about Randy, the service
can't speak highly enough about Randy, the service manager at the Toyota Place. From the moment I arrived, Randy stood out as the epitome of professionalism. He greeted me warmly, took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, and immediately instilled confidence with his deep knowledge of both vehicles and customer service. What truly sets Randy apart is his exceptional attention to detail and his commitment to making the entire process seamless and stress-free. He explained everything clearly, offered thoughtful recommendations without ever being pushy, and kept me updated every step of the way. It's rare to find someone so knowledgeable yet so approachable and genuinely helpful. Thanks to Randy, what could have been a routine (or even stressful) service visit turned into a completely positive experience. His leadership and customer-first mindset are a true asset to the dealership. If you're looking for top-tier service and someone who truly cares, Randy is the person you want to work with. Also, met and spoke with Joseph in sales. He too was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Though I was not in the market to purchase a new car, and was there for service, he spent time to answer my questions. Thank you Randy and Joseph for your professionalism and helpfulness.

Horrible experience, we bought a 2025 Toyota RAV4 car and I have a problem with that car, after several reviews (3 alignments in less than 3 weeks on a new car) and contradictions between the mechanisms they try to make it seem like it's “normal”. At first everything is fine but then they don't help you, I don't recommend this dealer because they tell you that “everything is guaranteed” and it's false. They deceive in order to sell.

BUYER BEWARE: We went through Costco Auto Program, they
BUYER BEWARE: We went through Costco Auto Program, they called us right after we submitted a request and told them which car we needed to test drive today. They said they had it in stock and we can test drive; we scheduled an appt same day. My fiancé drove 40 minutes to go test drive. He gets there and they said the sold the car earlier in the day. He went through five other people, and in the end they did not honor the original price based off of what the Costco Specialist had given him, which was around 33,000 for the Prius with Costco Discounts OTD with tax, tags, etc. By the time it went to the manager, they add 4k in add ons which inflated the cost to around 38,000! When my fiance rejected the add-ons, the manager said they were required and tried haggling him, and said that we MUST pick a package despite us explicitly saying we wanted to go with base price. THE ENTIRE REASON WE WENT THROUGH COSTCO WAS TO NOT BE HAGGLED. Completely unprofessional. The manager stated that they just started the Costco Auto Program two weeks ago, and that they were probably not going to continue with this anymore. I am making a formal complaint through Costco Auto Program. Completely unethical and slimey business practices. Do not go here. Waste of time. We are going with Honda instead due to this horrible experience with the brand representations of Toyota.

On 01/11/2025, we purchased a 2022 Toyota Rav4 LXE from
On 01/11/2025, we purchased a 2022 Toyota Rav4 LXE from this dealership, which is actually called TOYOTA PLACE. Prior to purchasing the vehicle and signing the contract, we noticed the car was missing floor mats. So I asked the sales person about the floor mats. He said, don't worry I will provide you with floor mats. In addition, he said he will have the car washed and fill it up with Gas. Well, once we actually purchased the vehicle, the sales person gave us one (1) key fob, and said he will not provide us with the floor mats and will not fill up the car with gas. Well, as you can imagine this vehicle was expensive. I attempted to speak with the used car sales manager, and he tried to handle me. He was very condescending. He said that I have to pay out of my own pocket for the second key fob, and no floor mats. He said the key fob was going to cost me $200.00. The insult to injury continued after I asked him to reach out the General Manager, Sam Chalann. Of course the General Manager was not cooperative regarding this matter either. So aside from receiving only one key fob for a very expensive vehicle, I am told that I must pay for the mats, etc. I know it's no surprise to anyone with car buying experience, that once you sign on the dotted lines, the dealer acts you you are nobody. This was the most horrible car buying experience for me. Rest assured that I will never return to Garden Grove Toyota, which is now called "TOYOTA PLACE" ON Trask Avenue. Ironically, I have two (2) close cousins that are in the market for new Toyotas, and I will share my negative experience with them regarding this dealership.

Perfectly nice and pleasant salespeople.
Perfectly nice and pleasant salespeople. After we had discussed price and availability, they told me about the options I had to buy that came to almost $5000! Not a markup, oh no: a mandatory security system for $1950, a “thermal package” also for $1950, and a catalytic converter lock for $850!! The catalytic converter lock is a good idea but not at that price. When I said, no way, I don’t want any of that stuff, they offered me a discount on it… I just left. The only good part of the experience is they’re close to an In-n-Out.

I’ve been trying to find myself a Tacoma Trailhunter for
I’ve been trying to find myself a Tacoma Trailhunter for a couple weeks now and most of the dealers have told me that their TrailHunters are being marked up by 5k, sometimes even 10k. However, I have also found a few at MSRP, but they have been reserved. I’m sure you could understand my excitement when I found a Tacoma Trailhunter at MSRP at “Toyota Place” in Garden Grove, especially because their website says things like “transparent pricing” and “no surprises.” I immediately called and was shocked to hear it had not been reserved! I tried to place a deposit for it over the phone since I live about 90 minutes away, but the sales Rep Angel told me that wasn’t an option, in order to reserve the car I had to come down in person. Although I really didn’t want to do that for a car that wouldn't arrive until likely August, I was willing to do so to get it at their advertised price of MSRP. I set an appointment with Angel for 9am the following day. The following morning I got to Toyota Place at 920, yes I was late and I felt badly about that, but that immediately went out the window when I found out that Angel was not even at the dealership. I told them I had made an appointment with him and they didn’t have an excuse other than the fact that he wasn’t there – that pissed me off. Fortunately, I got paired with a sales Rep named Carlos Rubio who was the absolute man, super nice guy. I then began to explain to Carlos what I had talked about with Angel and he went to get the paperwork from his General Sales Manager. Carlos returned with a paper that showed a $5000 markup for “dealer accessories” such as anti-theft, paint protection, and security. I told him that I didn’t want the accessories, I wanted the advertised price according to their website. Now the sales manager comes out to explain that their advertised price is with an additional $5000 in accessories. I asked him where that was on the website and he pointed to some very fine print at the bottom of the screen that said “these fees are subject to without prior notice” – how in the xxxx is that transparent pricing? It doesn’t say why they’ll change, and it’s not advertised, it’s at the very bottom where no one will see it.I told the manager this was super unfair because I had driven almost two hours for an advertised price and a promise of “transparent pricing.” He also tried to tell me “this is the best deal you’re going to get” – I then showed him several quotes of other dealerships that were selling at MSRP. I decided to leave as I didn’t want to do business with a place that has crooked sales tactics and false advertising just to get people in the door. HERE’S THE BEST PART: As I’m driving home, I’m thinking that I should probably get proof that the price was in fact MSRP on the website. I go back to the truck online and find that they had added a $4885 fee for “dealer installed accessories” while I was at the dealership. Fortunately, I got screenshots of it at the original advertised price. All this to say, I hope that people are aware this dealer will lie to you, they will tell you prices just to get you through the door. Do not fall for it, don’t waste your time. If you’re going to go to them, get Carlos Rubio because he is a good man that made me want to do business with them originally. Unfortunately that was overshadowed by their awful management.

Buying my Toyota from this dealership today was the worst
Buying my Toyota from this dealership today was the worst experience I’ve ever had buying a car. After calling and visiting several Toyota dealerships the past two days I was called by Hellen and told they had the RAV4 LE I was looking for and to come in. Once I came in Alfonso was the salesman that was directed to help me and my mom who was there for moral support. Not only did he make us walk two whole lots to see for ourselves that the RAV4 LE was not in fact there but he kept saying he was just checking to see where it was at on his computer. When we finally decided to leave he said he could give us a better deal which would be a RAV4 XLE in silver (which wasn’t the color I was looking for or the model) for a good price. Once he showed us the price and we agreed on it he told us that car was not on their lot as well but at a “sister dealership” and we would have to wait for the car to be brought over, but we would be able to drive off with it once it arrived. After dealing with Alfonso and financing we had to wait an additional 4 hours to be told my car was ready to pick up. Well when we got to the dealership the car that was waiting for me was a RAV4 LE in silver and when we told Alfonso that wasn’t the XLE we purchased he said, “Yeah it’s a RAV4 LE with XLE features”. We told him we were never told it was a RAV4 LE but an XLE because they couldn’t get me the LE in the first place. We decided not to drive off with the car and went inside to try and speak to the managers who gave us the run around and everyone just kept telling us they didn’t understand what happened. Also on further inspection on our part we saw the VIN we were first shown for the RAV4 XLE was changed on the official paperwork for the RAV4 LE that was delivered for us. The manager Giovani told us that if they gave us the XLE at the price we originally paid for they would be losing money and that owasn’t fair for them, per the owner of the dealership who he was going back and forth with to discuss what happened. At the end of the day we were there from 11 in the morning until 7 at night just to be given the run around and sold a car we were lied to about. The salesman here are deceitful and misleading as well as the owner of the dealership who is aware of situations like these but lets them occur. I would recommend you avoid this dealership and take your business anywhere else.

Stay away from this place!
Stay away from this place! I was there to purchase a new 2024 Corolla. The sales rep and I went over the car. She leaves her desk and returns with the Floor manager. He and I agree on a price and shake hands. They both congratulate me on my purchase. They both leave their desk to gather some paperwork. They return with the dealership manager. He sits down and tells me he can’t sell it for that price and wanted nearly $2000 more than our already agreed upon offer. I declined and left. After talking to another sales rep at another dealership he said he used to work there and they have a reputation for the bait and switch game. I bought the same car at another dealership for $2500 less. This Dealership manager has no integrity to honor an already committed deal by his staff. This is a huge negative for the dealership and its reputation. I wouldn’t give “Toyota Place” the time of day after that experience and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend them. In fact, I’m posting this on other venues and telling as many as possible of my experience. If I could give them less than one star I would. STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA PLACE IN GARDEN GROVE, CA. They’re crooks!
