On September 15th 2020 I bought a used car from Crain Hyundai of Bentonville at 3000 SE Moberly Ln. Bentonville, AR 72712 The car, as it was presented... to me by Jerry Parker (Sales Manager) was a 2018 Subaru 2.5i Limited. I looked at the car, I liked it . Took it for a spin...It was not a very smooth ride, but kind of acceptable. That's what I told Sam (the Salesperson). He said that before I'd take it from the lot, the car would be checked up and detailed again. So I agreed. Then, considering my old 2007 Jeep Compass as a trade in, Jerry came up with the price of $23,500. He left me in the room to think about it, I looked up the average price on low miles 2018 Subaru 2.5i Limited on my phone and it was around $24k, so I agreed. Only in a couple of days, I learned (with the help of my neighbor - The Car Wizard) that Jerry Parker (whom I trusted so much) played a swindle on me: he sold the least expensive Subaru 2.5i model for the price of an advanced Subaru 2.5 Limited. And the difference in the price was around $5k (not to my advantage. By the way, the brand new 2021 Subaru 2.5i is around $24k.) In the Book of my wizard-neighbor it was a brutal Rip Off. So the next day I called Jerry and asked him if he knew that the car he sold to me was not Subaru 2.5i Limited? He Replied: You saw the car, you took it for a ride, you agreed to pay for it, so all sales are final. If you aren't satisfied, refer to our lawyer's team. My genuine instinct of trusting Jerry Parker was gone forever. Now, what is it actually can I do to prevent future rip offs of innocent car seekers? As a concerned senior citizen I am simply obligated to file a few complains: with the State Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau; I'm going to leave bad ratings on most dealer review websites as well as with official and social media. What else? Yes, I'm going to contact my local news, to see if they like my story. And the name for the story is obvious: "Can Jerry Parker sell The Old Donkey for the Price of Racing Horse again?" P.S. I contacted John Donawho, the General Manager by email. He replied promising "I'll look into your concerns" and I've never heard from him since.
The dealers here will lie to you about their inventory just to get you on their lot. The long story is that we found a car they had listed online, called... a day in advance to make sure they had it on their lot. We called again to make sure they had it and knew we were coming on the day of, and Kevin assured us that they had multiple vehicles of that model. We drove four hours and could not find any vehicles of the model we had called about, so we found Kevin (the salesperson that we had spoke to on the phone). He let us know that they didn't actually have what we had drove four hours to buy, but he then started trying to push other vehicles on us stating, "You drove all that way, you don't want to leave empty handed." I called the sales manager, Jerry, who informed me he would, "Make it right." After an hour of no calls, no effort from any Crain Hyundai employees, we left Bentonville.
Just bought a beautiful used Mazda CX-5 which came over from the sister Mazda lot. Excellent experience thanks to Joey Allen, as well as Pat Carson and... Robert Dresher. No pressure, very professional, and did everything I asked in terms of background information and inspection. Joey Allen is the salesman and made this one of the best buying experiences I've had. Also, the showroom is first class as well.
After negotiating over a day and a half, setting up a time to meet to look at car and possibly buy it, and AFTER RECEIVING THE COST to purchase, the dealership... RAISED the price b/c they didn't think price was high enough.
First off, a brand new vehicle that I had financed in Northern California in 2016 was recently involved in a rear end collision and declared a total loss... by the insurer's agency. I was not anticipating in getting a new vehicle whatsoever, and I had no experience with Hyundai vehicles except having seen them around being driven on the road and noting how beautiful made they were. And having being put in a rental and it being a 2020 Hyundai Elantra model, I had grown in love with the Hyundai as a vehicle manufacturer. It really does take you to having driven a Hyundai vehicle to know how well and how smooth it drives. Fast forward to 3/7/2020, I was shopping around for a new vehicle to replace my totaled one, and had stopped by the Crain Hyundai dealership in Bentonville AR, just to check around and see what they can offer in terms of a affordably financed vehicle, something similar perhaps to the rental I was driving (2020 Hyundai Elantra). I was greeted immediately upon parking the rental in front of the dealership by a friendly salesman; Mr. Zach Lewis; he approached me and fiance' with a smile we would never forget after this day. He asked us if we needed some help and if he could help us find a new vehicle today. We said absolutely. He was no pushy, nor was he trying to sell us something off the bat. He was approachable, friendly and above all, listened to us in what we wanted and what we had gone through with our total loss of a vehicle. After sitting down with him in his office, and filling out all the necessary information, we walked out to the front of the dealership and there was a 2020 Elantra that was being offered to us with rebates and applicable discounts, we were not in the market for a brand new vehicle but we were really appreciative of him and his manager in offering to help us into a 2020 Elantra, that is exactly like the rental we were driving in and enjoying so much. Mr. Zach Lewis, after listening to our requests for a used 2014-2016 vehicle, then after a brief wait, offered us a vehicle that we would never anticipate of owning, and that is a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, a mini SUV. When me and my fiance' first saw it, as they had so kindly brought it to the front of the dealership, the white paint and glass on the vehicle glistened in the sun, and looked practically brand new. There was an initial smile on me and my firance's face. Zach smiled at us and held out the keys to the vehicle in front of us, just dangling it to entice me, and asked if we would like to test it out for a drive, we absolutely said YES. We examined the vehicle first and it looked really really really beautiful from the outside, we examined the superior room in the back, and also the front cabin of the vehicle. It absolutely looked stunning. But will it still drive like a dream, like the 2020 Elantra did? I had to see for myself. Mr. Zach Lewis hoped in the back while my fiance' sat co-pilot with me in the front. After what seemed like an absolute dream of 10 minutes, and pushing the vehicle the way I wanted in the drive, testing out the brakes, shifting and turning and seeing the features ---------- I was sold on the 2016 Hyundai Elantra. It also had only 60,000 miles on it, a backup camera, bluetooth, an advanced rear view mirror, so much leg room, Sirius XM (a very underrated feature that I need) and felt like a man's vehicle (as it's the biggest safest vehicle I have ever driven). We had the biggest smile on our faces, after that test drive. We wanted this vehicle! After going through all the paperwork, and a waiting period for the financing to go through, I was given the numbers. And it was quite pleasing to me and my fiance'. That was the best deal I was ever given in my entire life (and I have been to several dealerships, here and in California). I shook their hands; Garret a manager, Justin "Tex" a financing manager, and our new friend Zach Lewis. We took our new vehicle home, happiest time in our lives.
Kameron King was wonderful and he worked to get us a vehicle from a different Crain dealership 20 miles away. The sales manager got us the financing at... a great price. Love this place and this will be our go to dealership in the future. Lots of new cars and real quality used car selection. We very highly recommend Kameron and Crain Hyundai.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience, and more importantly, thanks for coming to us for the purchase of your vehicle! We hope that you love it a...nd enjoy it to the fullest. Please let us know if there is anything more that we can do and we'll see you next time!
So after 4 year and my 2nd car here they screwed me over in service and just getting my car. At first to draw u in is customer service at first but after... awhile they couldn't give 2 craps about you. I'll never be return here again. And no Shane calls me back and threatened me to tell me that I'm never allowed to being my car back and if I want any warranty work done I have to go to Missouri to have it done. I have never ever complained about work done on my cars. They wanted to charge my alone over $70 bucks for a tire rotation and balance. Flat outrageously overpriced so to this day im not allowed back unless i take down my 1 star review on google so please beware future buyers avoid crain and Hyundai at all cost!
So nice! Did just what they said they would do. Car was only there a few hours. I will go back to Bentonville lot from now on. Much nicer and effecient... than Fayetteville lot.
Don’t ever get your vehicle serviced here or make an appointment online! Apparently, what you see online is not exactly what you’re going to get. Got a... package for $150 which included the oil 39.99, rotation 19.99, and replace climate control air filter 49.99, in addition to small inspections. Trent(advisor) calls and said there no need to change the filter. Needless to say I ended up paying the same amount. That the tire rotation was not included in the package and that I agreed to pay the same amount. Of course I was not given in FULL DETAIL of what all would be done as i got a full throttle service? Not sure what that even is. I agree that I said the price was okay but instead of just charging for the oil and tire rotation, they still made it to where I had to pay that amount! In the end he said what do I need to to do to make it right? Well I’m complaining for a reason? Which should be common sense. Definitely will NOT be recommending this dealership! Funny thing is that all they could say is that I agreed to the amount. Very very unprofessional this place is.
Trenton Riggs always provides Excellent Customer service & is very knowledgeable when I have any questions regarding the service on my Genesis as well... as my Maxima. Thank you!!
