Don't waste your time like I did.

Don't waste your time like I did. They responded to an offer to buy my car and told me they would pay more than my online offer. Went in and they confirmed the condition of my car matched what I had noted on my offer, waited for an hour, then they came back with $4k less, total joke of a business. You waste my time, I'm going to make sure everyone hears about it. I took my car to the next place and had the vehicle sold for the price I wanted in about an hour.

AVOID.

AVOID. I purchased a used 2021 Toyota 4Runner from these guys, and while the price was decent, I was lied to at multiple steps throughout the process. First, I was assured that basic maintenance had been performed on the vehicle prior to purchase. About 1000 miles in, I noticed the motor had a slight tick to it. Took the car to Valvoline who noted that the oil level was dangerously low in the vehicle, and when they pulled out the engine air filter and the cabin air filter, it looked like they had never been replaced. Disgusting corner cutting by Armstrong Volkswagen. In addition to that, during the test drive, I noticed a couple of cracks in the windshield. The salesman at the time told me that the windshield would be replaced by the dealership. I mentioned this to Lou, the internet sales guy, who said he would follow up with the sales manager and call me back. They knew I was about to move out of Oregon, and even though I personally followed up with the dealership, I never received a call back. Lou sounded surprised when I followed up asking about the windshield replacement a couple of days later and even asked me "when are you leaving town?" They clearly dragged their feet in order to avoid replacing the windshield with the knowledge that I was leaving soon. The ad said the vehicle came with weatherproof mats. It did not. When inquiring about this, Lou said "oh, the ad must have been wrong." The whole process felt scummy. Avoid at all cost, these guys will do anything to save a buck.

Steve was a great salesperson.

Steve was a great salesperson. He was very helpful, and I would very much recommend him to anyone as someone who you could buy a car from. He is a very knowledgeable salesperson! He does not waste your time pointing you in the wrong direction. He values your time and tries to understand what a good fit for you.

Teran and the other salesman were very good to deal with.

Teran and the other salesman were very good to deal with. After purchase the introduction to the electronics on the car was minimal. We almost did not buy the car due to our interaction with the finance man, David. He was exceedingly unpleasant. As a former business owner he would be someone I would send to customer service classes and or never let him interact with the public. We will not be returning to Armstrong or recommend them.

I drive a 2021 VW Tiguan SE 4Motion with less than 25k

I drive a 2021 VW Tiguan SE 4Motion with less than 25k miles on it. My windshield wiper fluid started malfunctioning and was spraying into the interior cabin of the vehicle. I scheduled service and dropped my car off at Armstrong VW on 8/26/23. I was given frequent dishonest updates throughout the timeline of repairs. I wasn’t going to leave a review because Dennis the service manager had my car detailed for the troubles. ALTHOUGH, my car was returned back to me with paint damage on my passenger side door, which really is the cherry on top of this whole experience for me. Went in for windshield wiper system, left with missing paint. Now I have to go back to Armstrong for additional repair for the damage they left on my door. I am hesitant to even to leave it with them again because now I don’t trust them to take proper care of my car. Absolutely would not recommend working with service advisor Phil or technician Brian Sanders. Phil was dishonest about what was going on with my car while it was under their care, and Brian returned it to me with paint damage. I am expecting Armstrong VW to make this right outside of court, otherwise I have no issue having the paint damage repaired somewhere else, and taking legal action for cost of repairs, loss of use, and any rental cost associated with doing so. I have an appointment for the damage to be looked at on Monday 9/18 at 4pm with Chris, I will update my review then.

Unappreciative Arrogant Fools

Royal jerks to deal with if you’re paying cash for a car. Their closers is argumentative & doesn’t listen. Even when caught in a lie. Then plays dumb. The finance/paperwork guy acts like he was hired yesterday, loves to argue also, as well as tries to talk over you. They like to think they can up sell you after a deal is made. Then they don’t give you the paperwork to the car even though the have received payment in full. Reminds me of 30 years ago when dealerships could play on your ignorance. Don’t waste your time or frustration here. There are plenty of dealerships who at least act like they appreciate you as a customer. Old school that doesn’t work in today’s world. I guess it irritates them profusely when you don’t need their financing & the don’t get their kickbacks. So sorry that I’m an informed customer, but never again will I darken their doorstep & insult them buy spending money in their dealership.

I was in the market for a specific used BMW model for a daily commuter in Seattle Washington. I was looking for an 335i turbo with the n55 engine and low miles. I found it at Armstrong Volkswagen through cargurus.com, their used car 7000 miles warranty and their customer service gave me a great piece of mind to drive down to Oregon and check out the vehicle. I've owned the vehicle for 2 months now, 2011 335i with 64,000 miles, two previous owners and what a great decision it was to buy from Armstrong Volkswagen. Thank you Silvana for being a great help through the buying process took 2 hours and I was back on the road to Seattle with my new used vehicle and loving it!!

This dishonest dealership doesn't even deserve a 1 star

This dishonest dealership doesn't even deserve a 1 star review. In March I bought a used 2015 Audi vehicle for my college son. I was lied to by the salesman. Told the car went through a rigorous inspection prior to putting on their lot since they don't want bad reviews. I was told there was a 6 month/6K mile warranty that covered a entire list of issues and parts. After driving the car 700 miles, the car had 2 critical errors that rendered the vehicle undriveable. These errors should have been discovered in their rigorous inspection. The Warranty they promote to give you confidence in your purchase was CRAP. It didn't cover what they listed on the car and didn't cover the 2500 dollars in repairs required to get vehicle driveable. When I tried to call the dealership they REFUSED to even talk with me. Sent me a text message saying they can't help with current issues even though they never found out what the issues were because they REFUSED to talk with me. This is the worst customer service I have ever experience at any dealership. BEWARE DON'T BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

Consumer response

Armstrong VW agreed to pay for 1/2 repairs. They didn't admit their warranty was not what they advertised. They said any future repairs they would help fight the warranty insurance company to get covered. I am satisfied with the outcome.
