Told me I needed a new engine and to come down right now to pay for it or get it financed. Towed it out of there and get this...the repair was covered... under my warranty and only needed my timing chain fixed. Dealership never mentioned the warranty!!!!!! Just wanted to make a quick 4K off me into scaring me into an engine.

No customer service knowledge. Blame you for their mistake. Came in for an oil change and waited 3 hours. After the 3 hours someone asks me why I’m waiting,... THEY DIDNT EVEN START ON THE CAR. There were customers who came in after me and left before me. Then they tell me that if I’m waiting too long I should check up because they might’ve lost track. Are you kidding me? Please avoid this place.

McGrath Honda of Elgin sold a car to someone else immediately after a verbal agreement to sell us the car and a handshake. I was getting a cashier's check... to pay them at the bank immediately around the corner because they don't take cash, credit cards, or a downpayment on used cars. Based on what the manager stated, I believe that they pulled this trash move because the other party was financing (they get more money), and I was paying in cash. This trash move wasted 4 hours of my time, my pregnant partner's time, the car sales rep's time, my mechanic's time, everyone standing behind me at the bank, and my insurance rep's time for a few extra dollars. The Used Car Sales Manager Frank defended his actions both over the phone and in person. The Finance Director Enis had his back in person. We all make mistakes and sometimes bad calls, but the way this was treated was business-as-usual. That was more stunning than the slimeball move of selling the same car to two different people. Disgusting.
They damaged my car and then asked me not to come back. I purchased my car though this dealership. I've been taking my car there for car washes ever since... I purchased it. The gentleman who washed my car kindly asked if I would like him to vacuum out the interior (I had no idea they'd even do that). I accepted and when I got back in my car I had 3 big, noticable scratches on my dashboard. I noticed it once i got on the expressway. I called and complained and brought it back in the following day. It was pretty much my word against his that he did the damage. He acknowledged that he vacuumed the dashboard as well. I talked to the floor manager and she was extremely rude and kept asking me what I wanted from her. She stated they could not get the scratches out and would not replace the whole dash for 3 scratches. So I bring my car in and leave with scratches and the female manager treated me like I was wrong for being upset. She even told me never to come back there again, even though I am awarded free car washes since I purchased my car there. I call the general manager, explained the whole thing to him, he sounded sympathetic and said he would look into it and call me back. That was over a month ago. I've called three more times since then and left messages but nothing. The customer service there is completely unprofessional. The management there is beyond disrespectful.
After doing business here for eight years, the last two cars I leased from there, brand new, had to go back to the dealership for being defective. This... second experience was worse than the first......the paperwork was filled out incorrectly up, the wrong VIN number was assigned, I had to give up my license plates to get new ones cuz of their mistake, the air conditioning went out, the inside of the car has a part that's cracked and nobody has bothered to return phone calls. I will finish up the repairs for this car and then I will no longer do business with McGrath.
I was looking at a low mileage used KIA Sportage. I called in at night on a Tuesday and spoke to the internet manager Joe who was extremely helpful and... answered my questions regarding the vehicle. He even was able to speak with me on his day off to confirm that the car was still there and assisted me in getting a one way rental car to get there. I may have been a pest because I was calling daily to make sure the vehicle didnt sell. Everyone in the internet department from Joe and the sales fella David were amazing and made the drive from Ohio well worth it. My granddaughter loves her new car. I would highly recommend the McGrath Honda Team no matter what state I am in.

I was driving from Michigan to Wisconsin and my Low Tire light came on. I stopped at McGrath Honda and Amanda Harper graciously helped me. They checked... my tire air pressure and filled the low tire and the light went out. I was back on the road within minutes. It was a great experience.
