The staff was knowledgable and helpful. There was no high pressure sales push and I was treated with respect. When I wanted a variation they did not have... on the lot they were prompt in finding just what I needed. My questions were answered in a straightforward way and the best financing was suggested which proved to actually be the best. I am hopeful that when I need service in the future the service department will be just as responsive.
The staff at Morong are not only knowledgeable and awesome to assist with car buying, but they're hilarious too! I have been going there for years... and would 100% recommend them!!
I recently purchased a VW Golf R from Morong VW in Brunswick,ME after encountering a horrible experience with a local dealership in Braintree, MA. I had... turned in my VW Passat TDI though my local dealer and I was planning on purchasing Golf R though them. The dealership was so unprofessional I ended up leaving and never looking back. I made a rapid decision and jump online in a hurry to find a replacement vehicle and located the exact spec Golf R I was looking for located at Morong VW in Brunswick, ME. I made a call to the dealership, spoke to a gentlemen by the name of Matt Brown. I explained my situation and instantly felt at ease by the calming conversation I had with Matt. He insured me they would hold the car at my convenience coming from Massachusetts. The following weekend I traveled 3 hours up to Maine, met with Matt who made me almost feel as if I was a close friend. He walked me through the painless process of buying the Golf R and I was on my way. I would highly recommend Morong VW and seeing Matt Brown. I have purchased new vehicles in the past and i've never quite experience the great service I got from this dealer. I will definitely be going back to them in the future.
I got a good deal -- good price for my old car and a reasonable leasing cost -- at Morong ; the little service that was required thereafter was perfect.... And the folks there are very pleasant.
"Absolutely horrible. I purchased a vehicle in March that they had kept within the dealership for the last 6 years. They claimed it was in impeccable... shape. I was going to buy the vehicle cash but the finance manager claimed it was not up for a cash sale as he was trying to secure a contract with a special credit financing place. They refused to provide any maintenance records prior to the sale. Against my better judgement and the belief that people are naturally good people, I bought the vehicle through the special credit financing place to help them secure their contract. They did agree to replace the timing belt and water pump as part of the sale. I also inquired about a noise the car made when started. They said it was probably just the serpentine belt but would be taken care of during the timing belt and water pump maintenance. A day following the purchase the check engine light came on, I notified them and they agreed to take care of it when the timing belt and water pump was serviced. The vehicle went in for the work to be done a few days later. Longer story shorter, they had the vehicle for a week and the roof was damaged while in their care. They denied responsibility of the damage. But, when I was there to pick the vehicle back up it clearly had just been sanded down as there was a fine layer of dust over the entire roof, which was also observed as "odd" ny the finance manager who assisted me outside. I'm assuming they tried to conceal whatever they did. I then took the vehicle in for a third party inspection due to their lack of professionalism and callousness. The vehicle failed inspection for a rotted rear subframe, tires and brakes despite them placing an inspection sticker on it as of 02/2018. The third party inspection also found low oil and coolant levels which I made clear that I was concerned about as they supposedly had just done the timing belt and water pump. They finally agreed to make the repairs and investigate the low fluid levels, only after the failed inspection, many emails back and forth between the sales manager, the finance manager, the service manager, the general manager and myself. After about 4 weeks of them having my vehicle to repair all of the issues, I was told it was ready but they will not make any additional repairs unless it's "covered under warranty". The following day I noticed fluid underneath the vehicle, it was coolant. I thought maybe it was just overflow from them topping it off. But that wasn't the case, the radiator is now in need of being replaced... and not covered under warranty despite it either 1) needing repair at the time of sale or 2) done purposefully by their own hands. Not only do they sell unsafe vehicles but their mechanics are clearly incompetent. I wish I could give them 0 stars but I suppose they deserve 1 for a "complimentary" tank of gas."
Went in and the salesman couldn't be bothered to help. Did toss the keys to a Golf Wagon over which was good. However, on further research wound up with... a deal that was almost 5k cheaper... on a 25k car. Shop around and you won't get screwed- ironic that they charge you more when you are local. Wasn't impressed and that's why we bought our two VWs elsewhere.
My husband and I had been on the lookout for a Chevy Equinox. We were in Portland for the weekend and after expanding an online search to include Brunswick,... we found a 2014 Chevy Equinox with just 21,000 miles on it... perfect! After a test drive and deciding to pursue it, we talked with Matt and worked out all the details. Matt was very friendly and made this experience a great one. We got a newer (my previous car was a 2005) dependable, safe car with very low miles at a really great price. I am absolutely loving the car, and I'd definitely recommend Morong Brunswick to anyone looking to buy a vehicle!

Just bought my second car from Matt and the team at Morong and will someday buy my third! Throughout both transactions everyone was focused on helping... me make a decision rather than working towards selling me a car. The lack of pressure and the ease of the transaction makes the car buying experience sooooo much easier. Matt got me the exact model, color, and spec that I wanted so I didn't feel like I was settling or that I was buying additional features or packages. I know I got a great deal but to be honest that was not the most memorable part of the process!
I cannot say enough good about this dealership. My husband and I have bought two cars from them now and both times were a very pleasant experience. The... salespeople are very down to earth and friendly, and honest right from the start. There is no stress or drama involved with the car buying experience here. We love it and we'll always happily recommend Morong Brunswick to our family and friends.
