Had an excellent experience with Dave Sullivan at Toyota

Had an excellent experience with Dave Sullivan at Toyota of Greenwich. Was treated with kindness and patience throughout the experience; Dave worked hard behind the scenes to find the right vehicle for me, which was not easy since I was looking for an in-demand model in good shape coming off a lease. It took a few weeks but I got what I was looking for with an extended CPO warranty that will give me peace of mind for the next 8 years.

The car I wanted was quoted at $300 below MSRP.

The car I wanted was quoted at $300 below MSRP. I was told that one of the OPTIONAL packages could not be removed from the sale because it was already installed on the vehicle. I asked them to discount the price to cover the cost of a package I did not want and they said no. Before I could make a counter offer Matthew tells me there is 1800 miles already on the car. So that makes it a USED car, with a depreciation of about $3000, which they were all to happy for me to eat. The "best" they could do was an additional $1000 deduction. I said no and walked away. That's probably what they wanted because they knew I could see right through their xx and were all to hapy to fnd another sucker to overpay for it.

We are sorry that we were unable to come to an agreement on the cost of this vehicle. Part of the art of car buying is negotiation. This car was a company service vehicle and comes with all new car perks such as the new car warranty and has never been titled which is why it is priced accordingly. We do wish you the best of luck moving forward in your search for a new vehicle. Take care!

"This car was a company service vehicle..." should have been disclosed up front, not at the time of price negotiations. I wondered if Matthew was planning to wait until after signing documents to provide that piece of information. "...and comes with all new car perks such as the new car warranty and has never been titled..." and also comes with 1800 miles. 180 miles I could understand. But 1800? That's a lot, almost halfway to the first service point. "...which is why it is priced accordingly." I see it is still listed as available and is now listed at $1000 less then when I inquired about it. Maybe now it is more reasonably priced (I would still disagree) but it wasn't when we first spoke about it. So good luck to you selling it. I just hope your sales people will be more truthful about the condition of the car upfront with any potential buyers.

Picked up my RAV4 2 weeks ago and the experience was outstanding! I have purchased 8 cars from David Sullivan over the past 20 years and have always had an excellent experience. David is not high pressure....he kept me informed about new models/features that Toyota was introducing throughout that time. Best of all was the sense of teamwork and service that I felt when I picked up the vehicle. David introduced me to Matt, who helped me set up the maps/phone/music interface. The service manager James came out to introduce himself and the service manager thanked me for the purchase. Angie Harsch, the finance manager made the document signing process go very smoothly and she thoroughly and clearly described the options available for more extended service and coverage. Would rate a 10 if I could go that high!!
