Chris Wells and manager Charles Jaffee offered a new 2019 GLS450 for cash purchase and knowing the purchase was for export which is time sensitive, I was promised a 1 month title process. They closed the deal quickly and took payment right away. Property taxes on vehicles are supposed to be paid directly to county clerk (South Carolina, out of state) but dealership insisted property taxes are collected at the dealership in Virginia and will be paid on my behalf. Six weeks has passed and no metal plates, no registration and no title. When inquired, NOW the dealership does not want to talk to me. They do not want to disclose the company handling registration but eventually gave in. They do not want to give authorization to the third party to work with me directly but the third party title company finally gave in. Turns out, the dealership never submitted my vehicle to be registered, and never submitted my tax payment to be paid to the county clerk. This dealer uses shady tactics to get your money, and immediately becomes hard to reach after they're paid. Phone calls are not answered/returned, and refuses to help with legitimate issues regarding their legal responsibility. On confirming with my local county clerk, it is apparently illegal for this dealer to collect South Carolina property tax, out of their jurisdiction. It is also illegal to collect tax money to keep for themselves. I am currently finding out how to escalate to Mercedes Benz USA. This is simply unacceptable.

My sales rep, Emre, he is a very nice and patient guy to work with. He explained detail information about buying and leasing. He has full knowledge about car performance and excellent customer service skill. The transaction is so smooth without any difficulties. I recommend him to my friends and I will definitely see it again with my next vehicle.
