Poor experience. Dealer raised the price $1300+ just before signing, said it was tax + title transfer + $450 fees (never mentioned before, even though... I said my absolute cap was $8000). This price increase was accompanied by a reveal that the car is rebuilt and was totally smashed up. The price increase put the car’s cost alongside other dealers who didn’t sell rebuilt cars. It was very unexpected to find out the price increase and the fact that it was rebuilt. The dealer repeatedly wouldn’t get the Carfax for us, I had to ask him 3 times and finally when he said he would get it, he only showed us pictures of the crash (not in a Carfax report, just the pictures). At that time I started to get nervous that Gulf Coast Auto was a sketchy and unethical dealership. I asked if we could drop $200 off the fee because it was unexpected but he laughed and said he wouldn’t budge. I’ve never been to a dealer that wouldn’t negotiate, even with a $1300 random increase and an unexpected crash. When I realized he wasn’t even willing to move $50 on the cost of the car off of the fee, I realized that it must not have been an ethical establishment. There’s no way a genuine car dealer would refuse to drop $50 to stop a sale. If he would’ve said “I understand your shock, I thought you knew all the cars on the lot have been in accidents. Also, I did not tell you about the dealer fee. Why don’t we knock $50 off?” I would’ve felt more comfortable and without question would’ve bought the car with cash. He didn’t even want to talk and tried a bunch of sketchy sleazy sales techniques like asking my wife if I could afford the car when I was seeing if there was some way it could be reduced because that wasn’t what we could afford or expect. I came in expecting the best experience but left realizing that if someone won’t budge $50, there’s something bigger going on. Would not recommend, it seems like they care less about customer satisfaction and more about making an extra $50.
Overall satisfied with the services. They were polite. The prices were reasonable. I enjoyed their services. Nice cars as well, from new to old cars.
It's my second time buying a car through Gulf Beach Auto. I bought my first vehicle with them in 2014, never had any troubles with it. It was the best... car I've had but I was ready to upgrade for something nicer. They trade in your old vehicle at very good price !The stuff is friendly and not pushy. I picked the right vehicle for me and my family. The price was unbeatable! The vehicle was in great condition and it also had a low mileage! I'm very happy about this purchase! While I was there, they also had three other customers but they managed it to where no one was waiting. The paperwork process didn't take much time at all. So I reccomend you to check out this place with awesome prices!
I felt very appreciated. Scott answered all my questions. Great job all around. I will recommend this dealership to my friends. I will be back for my... next vehicle here. Scott wasn't pushy. He was very knowledgeable.
TJ was very helpful during the buying process. The dealership has great deals and were able to work with me during my first car purchase! I would recommend... this place to my friends over and over again.
Thought we were getting a great deal on a vehicle with low miles and good safety features/resale value, but the vehicle had previously been totaled and... was worth 25% of what we paid, not to mention structural damage which threw its safety ratings out the window. We asked if it had any accidents and the salesman didnt know, it wasnt until we were deep into negotiations that the accident was mentioned, and they played it off calling it a small fender bender. Every vehicle that this place sells is rebuilt or salvage title vehicles. They get them for cheap and do the repairs themselves to get max profit. The sale of our vehicle should not have been approved by any bank, but USAA is one of the few banks that allow ( or just dont check) the sale of salvage title vehicles. The dealer themselves coerced us into USAA because of this. We could have done more research to prevent this, but at this point I don't want anyone else to get jipped by these guys! It seems like a good deal at first but the vehicle may not be in as good of condition as the carfax says!
Dear Henry, We wanted to thank you for sharing your opinion! If you were indeed a customer of ours, then you have a full right to return the vehicle f...or a full refund because it is illegal to sell vehicles with a salvage title. If your vehicle has a rebuilt title, then it allows you to legally operate it on public roads after the vehicle have been rebuilt to a safe, operable standards AND it's passed an inspection with the Florida Department of Motor Vehicle. It also means that you probably paid at least 25% less of its retail cost which saved you few thousands at the moment of purchase and it also saved you on interest due to a lower financed amount. In the long run, you should lose less when you decide to sell it, because of fast depreciation of used vehicle prices, regardless of its title. We truly believe that buying a vehicle with a rebuilt title is the best way to save on a used vehicle purchase. However, we understand it is everyone's personal preference and we would like to find a possible solution. We encourage all of our customers to sell their vehicles back to us whenever they ready to upgrade, and we can promise you, you won't be disappointed either. Please call us 850-696-2894 at your earliest convenience and ask to speak to a manager!
TJ got me a great deal on a 2015 focus. Best place to find helpful people who will get you a great car with low mile
Drove over 3 hours to get here..was not disappointed at all...they had what I was looking for at a very good price...service was great...every thing went... smooth! Highly recommend this business !
Nice truck. Retitled vehecal after totaled by insurance company, repairs were good. My bank and insurance company would not cover this truck but dealer... was up front about this truck's history.
It took me and my dad months shopping for the right sized trunk to fit my guitar, the right color blue and of course the amount I could afford. Then we... came to GBA and it all came together:) Thanks soo much. A special note: my right rear door would not lock?? I bungee cord it closed and returned to GBA, they replaced the door lock free of charge (yaah) and a month later Ford had a recall on Fusions to replace all door locks so Im highlighting the great customer service for something they could not forsee prior to sale
