This dealership always take 2 hours for any form of maintenance. I have been waiting since 12:45 pm for an oil change. It is now 2:26. They always say... something is “wrong” with your car in hopes of gaining more money from you.
Bought a used car from them. 5 days later “Check Engine light” came on. They never done emissions on it. They told me that “as soon as I left the dealership... it’s not there problem” crooks! Watch out!
I have purchased my last 2 vehicles from Shottenkirk and I always have a great buying experience and the staff really takes good care of me without the... hassle that comes along with buying a car. Great place to buy a car, it’s very friendly and professional!!
Meand daughter both when buy car. Ad state if have job your approved. Told guy from begin credit was best. Want to go ahead run credit first. But no.... Then start making offers before they even ran the credit. To come back and tell me no. And my daughter they would approve her but he something that was no close to want she wanted. So neither one walk out with car. Wasted a whole day.
They took misleading and poor photos of the used car....I was trying to buy from out of town ..... they do not point ANYTHING out...even the obvious things... you would notice as soon as you sat in the car... Like a bite sized chunk of the steering wheel missing! ...all and all this dealer is the reasons people hate buying cars at a dealership.
Terrible. Absolutely terrible. My wife purchased a car here back in 2003 and had a good experience. Far from the case this time. Came to see an Acura SUV... and was greeted by Tom. First thing that was off was the way they had aisles blocked so as you could not drive down to look at a car. So we had to park up front so you could be rushed to the sales floor. I asked where the restroom was, and Tom replied “well since all of you have to run to the restroom, ill wait over here.” Once I returned he finally came back with his little clip board. He started asking a ton of irrelevant questions such as “what did you like and not like about your previous car?” He kept on with these questions, proceeded to tell me he had to step away to check on another customer who had “already been denied by 3 banks.” I was amazed he would share this about someone’s situation, and it made me very uncomfortable. I worked in a lending background, and you could NEVER share someone else’s information like that. When he came back he then asked “what’s your payment budget and credit score?” Again, shouldn’t ask the score..lending laws prohibit this in most situations. I was ready to walk at this point, but i finally told him to get me a price and let me see the car. He finally brought it around and was getting huffy like a teenage girl and said “you all can go look at it while I put this in the system..” I asked if he needed my drivers license for a test drive. He was almost visibly angry at this point. Tom proceeded to reply in a sarcastic voice, “well then, I guess if you like the car then I can enter you into the system later.” We got out and the car was in bad shape and smelt like cigarette smoke. My wife made a comment about it, and he snarky replied “Cigarette smoke???” At this point I had enough of his attitude, pushiness, and lack of professionalism. We just walked off. On the way back to our car to leave (I also had my 6 month old with us) Tom FLEW by us to show his anger over not making a sale. Went down the rd to the Acura dealer, found the same car two years newer, CPO, and 50k less miles, all without the attitude and pushiness. Will never step on Shottenkirk’s lot again...
This dealer is all about the upsell. That $20 oil change is going to cost you a fortune if you follow the advice they give you. $55 cabin filter, wiper... blades, would changes, $200 to replace 4 spark plugs. What they will not do however is tell you about known issues on your car. My car has a known issue of timing chain failure after 70,000 miles. I had to pick my wife up who got stranded on the side of the interstate due to a timing chain failure at 139,000 miles. It would have been good information for my dealer to warn my Wife about this potential issue during one of the 16 service intervals that were done by this dealer between 70k miles and the failure date. Instead, they told her she needed new brake pads that were at 2 mm. However, I just had those pads replaced last summer and when I checked them they were less than half worn. Crooks, this dealership has no concern for anything or anyone except their upsell. Beware and do your homework before allowing them to do their recommended services. You can get more honest service at a much lower price and more concern elsewhere.
I purchased a brand new Honda Civic Type R from this dealership back in December 2017. We sold back our car to this dealership at following year ( December... 2018). During our initial purchase, we also purchased a 3 year prepaid maintenance plan for this car. When we sold the car back, the prorated portion of the prepaid maintenance and difference on the sales prices of the car were to be refunded back to us. The finance director Kevin Dowdy stated the difference on the sales prices of refund check will come after Christmas time, because the finance department were off during the holiday. And the prepaid prorated portion of the maintenance refund check has to be submitted to Honda headquarters in Texas, taking four to five weeks. After 5 week, we still have not received both checks, I called Kevin again and follow up with him. He said I should receive those soon. I said: Thanks. Can I follow up with you if I did not receive them within next week? He said: Yes. It has now been 11 weeks, and we have still not received either check. I have called him and the dealership again and again, leaving many voicemails. We still have not received any return responses from him or this dealership. Please send us the refund checks as we agreed upon on during the time we sold the car to you.
These people don’t know what they are doing. Bait and switch. They think people are stupid. They do not respect customers. Please do not go here.
I stopped in at Shottenkirk HONDA I was on my way out of town when my oil light went on stating I had 15 0/0 for my oil.I pulled over google nearest dealer... and it was Shottenkirk HONDA.I been going to Ed Voyles since my relocation to the area in 2015.Well let me tell you Spencer greeted me before I could shut my car door. I got the oil change and I was advised that I needed a filter because mine was dirty. I was out of there and on my way within an hours time.Sorry Ed Voyles I won’t be coming back prices are cheaper at Shottenkirk. You are at Ed Voyles for hours holding your car hostage.Shottenkirk you have me as a customer
